A very sharp witted individual - Youjimaru tends to measure twice, cut once when it comes to conversation. He takes pleasure in maintaining what he would call "Mental Superiority" in conversation. He knows he will never be the smartest person in the room, but he takes great care in understanding the mental workings of those he's currently engaged with so as to control the flow of conversation to suit him, if need be.
He has a continuous urge to understand others and will often times perform mental gymnastics to bait out responses just to provide him with more information. Individuals he cannot outwardly read immediately become a puzzle for him, creating a sickening need for him to attempt to solve.
With a background in Book Keeping and Law, Youjimaru has also worked for both the Japanese and American military, where he would then hold position in a joint task force with the local Police and Fire Department.
Currently enjoying his occupation as a Solo Dispatcher, Youjimaru has no reservations about potentially becoming a Law Enforcement Officer in the future. While he does not have any ill will towards criminals in the city - he does have issues with the reasoning and more importantly their honor regarding such actions.
He views haphazard criminal acts around the city as a virus, and the sickness must be treated.
Before arriving in the city, Youjimaru Takimura lived what some would call a very full life thus far, impressive for someone only being in their mid 30's. Youji was born and raised in Japan, and lived essentially a life of servitude to a crime lord family in a wealthy district of Aoyama - Japan. The Takimura name was regarded as an Aristocratic sur name in the shadows of the law as they were held in high regard for their servitude to various families for their "efficiency and devotion to their tasks in supporting the heads of beasts". Even though the family was steeped in traditional Japanese Practices - they were modern day business gangsters. Youji was raised with his face forced into business books, grooming him to be a genius when it comes to accounting and bookkeeping.
Being in the city Youji was unsure of what path to take his life forward. He found solace in performing civilian jobs primarily fishing and deliveries, occasionally accepting jobs as a Tow Truck Driver. The interactions he had with others intrigued him as often times a lot of the individuals Youji interacted with were others newer to the city. Civilian jobs were a revolving door of new comers resulting in very rarely meeting the same person twice, and exposing him to a wide array of the various personalities of the denizens of Los Santos.
Being exposed to the constant villainy of the city, Youji decided to become proactive and apply for both the Los Santos Police Dispatch and the Los Santos Police Department. A few months later he received a phone call for an interview with the Dispatch Department where he happily accepted. After 8 training sessions Youji was promoted to a full solo dispatcher where he assists the LSPD with their duties.
Being apart of the Takimura household, Youji was raised to learn the intricacies of the laws, specifically how to circumvent them or pass through loopholes. His own name "Youjimaru" being a reminder of such a fact as it has naming properties relating to a boat in Japanese - possibly for tax reasons.
Despite what others would see as a difficult book learning life, Youji developed a deep sense of loyalty. Not particularly to any family or person, but moreover to whomever he viewed himself in service to. This leads him into generally having established trust in any individual in which both they and Youji share a "familial bond" with, as he would expect them to have the same. This in its core has often caused more trouble then blessings as when operating in such circles, most could not be trusted at all.
Having sharp mental acuity, Youji was very gifted in his duties, so much so that he rose to popularity in the family, becoming what some of his siblings would call "The Golden Boy". Being quick to act in one particular moment, Youji went over the heads of the family to rectify a situation, which to his hard work, quick wits, and dedication resulted in saving a rather disastrous situation - this brought him to the attention of the head of family he was conscripted to, making Youji the go to for all of their needs. After a series of executing his tasks flawlessly, he was dubbed the title "The Paper Dragon".
To further the reach/grasp of the family, Youji was tasked with enlisting into the Japanese Military. Little did he know however that he would be a natural in such a setting, and Youji would quickly be moved/promoted to the SFG (Special Forces Group Japan) with a concentration on counter-terrorism. His knack for reading people and their intentions made him an all-star to his peers and superiors which granted him access to information and contacts he was originally tasked with.
His return from service was a less than savory affair as there was apparently an insurrection, where some would make false connections for the Takimura's and specifically Youji to blame. Name and honor tarnished he fled persecution to the states where he would once again enlist in the military, thus also providing him with his citizenship. After completion of his Army contract he would take up residence in San Andreas where he would find work for the criminal group "Shining Razors" in San Fierro. This is where he would embark on once again being an agent for the government whilst working for an organization, and Youji would join the Fire Department/Police Department Arson Task Force.
Working as an agent a second time is where he realized that the most influential family and where his talents could ever truly be utilized would be for the Government. This jaded his outlook on life and he slowly began to distance himself from the criminal organizations he found as home. Once again seeking a new life; he moved to San Andreas.
Youji's sharp mental acuity can most likely be traced to the fact that he has been diagnosed with a rare condition called "Low Latent Inhibition", resulting in him being hyper observant - particularly towards individuals. This causes him to be very calculated with how he interacts with others to get a full grasp of how they think and act, often times baiting out responses to see their full range of emotion.
It is unsure the reasons why Youji obsesses over knowing the complexities of why people think the way they do; either it be something he was missing in his childhood or mental superiority - one thing holds true: This "condition" is what made him an all-star in the Counter Terrorism Unit. His ability to read a situation and intentions by merely observing an individual.
Unfortunately however, the mental stresses of not having a "filter" on processing his environment caused Youjimaru to develop Dissociative Identity Disorder also known as Split/Multiple Personality Disorder. He has several personalities that manifest and influence his actions/speech/behavior and he is ultimately unsure the exact triggers for such things; hence the reason he maintains a regimen of medicine to assist him in maintaining control over what he believes to be himself or "main" personality.
Outside of Los Santos, Youji maintains some relationship with various "friends" and acquaintances and will often times visit his sister Sakura in Japan - when given the chance.
Even though he has an intense intrigue to understand individuals - he is ultimately an introvert and enjoys living a simple life. He holds a collection of various literature (mostly fiction) and enjoys the mental escape of playing MMO's where he can still interact with other people but not feel the need to dissect them mentally.

Youjimaru essentially became fluent in English by watching 90's sitcoms such as: Friends, Seinfeld, and Fraiser - however is reluctant to admit such a fact.
His biggest weak spot are house pets - specifically cats and dogs. He views cats as the ultimate pet as they are truly independent and not emotionally dependent like dogs are.
