Veronica Mars is a character role-played by Kate.
General Description[]
Veronica Mars is a Solo Trainee for the Emergency Medical Services, call-sign Tango-33.
She was formerly a Cadet for the Davis Police Department, Badge #593. She stopped showing up for work in solidarity after the firing of her friend, Sexton Cohen, and didn't get rehired onto the Unified Police Department/3.0.
She is currently in a relationship with Nicholas Simone.
Background[]
Veronica is originally from Vancouver Island, Canada but has a partially Spanish heritage. She wanted to become an officer after a home invasion incident occurred when Veronica was young. She met Sexton Hardcastle in a bar back home on Vancouver Island. Hardcastle was the reason that Mars came to Los Santos.
Veronica also lived in her car for an unspecified period of time prior to moving to Los Santos.
History[]
During the Sanguine war, Veronica was the EMS combat medic whom Senator Sean Davis and Director Brian Knight sent in to blow up the last remaining Sanguine holdouts under the guise of humanitarian aid. Although Conan Clarkson shot her down before she could plant the C4 bomb, the incident went viral and provoked widespread outrage from citizens like her fellow EMS, her boyfriend Nicholas Simone, eyewitness Sgt. Aaron Byson, government officials, and Twatter dissidents. Veronica suffered severe PTSD from the incident.

As an EMS paramedic, Veronica volunteered to serve as a combat medic in the Sanguine Isle war. On August 28, 2023, Commissioner Axel Justice, Undersheriff & Commander Connor Stubble, Director Brian Knight, and Senator Sean Davis led the Los Santos PD army's invasion of Sanguine Isle. Per a phone agreement with Commandant Yeager Demonblood, Nicholas Simone (who Veronica was dating) had the Russians dogfight with the PD jets in exchange for the Sanguinians not shooting at EMS. The EMS combat medics evacuated the wounded to a Los Santos Medical Group triage station on the Leviathan boat midway between the Sanguine Isle and Los Santos. In the Sanguinians' final stand, the last of their combatants including Kyle Pred, Conan Clarkson, Barry Benson, TJ Walker held out inside of an underground bunker with downed Commandant Yeager, downed combatants from both sides, and war correspondent Ursula Leichenberg. Hungry and suffering from the drone noise, they kept shooting down any PD soldiers trying to detcord the locked entry gate. Senator Davis and combat medic Veronica witnessing Director Knight pull a gun on Sgt. Byson after he overheard their plan to arm her with C4 During the siege of the villa, Sgt. Aaron Byson overheard and protested a plan between Director Knight and Senator Davis to send combat medic Veronica into the bunker to secretly plant a C4 bomb there on the pretense of treating wounded combatants. As Veronica approached the locked entry gate with her hands up, Conan proactively shot her down through the gate. The locked gate made her realize that she had been sent on a one-way mission. After Conan desperately dragged her inside looking for food, the Sanguinians were dismayed to find the C4 on her. With the PD army down to their last few soldiers (and Senator Davis giving up on Veronica as a casualty of war and using her as a martyr to inflame the remaining medics), time ticked down on a bomb they had planted by the gate. Rather than starve to death or cannibalize any of the downed bodies for food, the Sanguinians surged out of the bunker with RPGs in an unsuccessful final push. The fighting concluded with Senator Davis RPG'ing Conan, and Commissioner Axel RPG'ing both TJ and Finn (and Director Knight as collateral damage). The explosion from the PD bomb missed Ursula when she went to check on Veronica, and Ursula surrendered to the PD army as they breached the bunker (but refused to surrender the digital war footage she uploaded). Senator Davis threatened Ursula with treason for filming the war without permission, later admitting that he had thought about killing this "loose end". Veronica suffering PTSD over the memorized numbers she had to input on the C4 bomb to end the war The C4 bomb incident with Veronica shocked the consciences of even hardened cynics in Los Santos, leading to escalating outrage, a Twatter campaign, and growing calls for the firing of Director Knight from the UPD. Already resigned to the immunity of Senator Davis from prosecution, Mayor Andi Jones mostly investigated Director Knight's conduct and his death threat to Sgt. Byson. Andi's crusade to hold the police accountable hinged on Veronica, the final and most important eyewitness. Outraged that Veronica's boyfriend Nicholas Simone (the man who was a "brother" to Andi) wanted to shield a traumatized Veronica from Andi because she was now "the State", Andi permanently cut ties with him. Veronica stated that she only trusted Sgt. Aaron Byson, and agreed to talk to him. She recounted how Senator Davis and Director Knight had secretly pressured her to end the war, how they instructed her to plant the C4 and run, how Knight had threatened to kill Byson if he said anything and pulled a gun out, how the locked entry gate made her realize that they had sent her on a one-way mission, and how one of the starving Sanguinians almost cannibalized her. Shocked that Veronica still had the C4 bomb on her after she had been discharged from the ICU, Sgt. Byson took the C4 into evidence. Assistant Chief of Police Richard Dark-Rhodes suspended Director Knight pending investigation and a high command review panel. However, Senator Sean Davis doubled down and flexed his political immunity--stating that Director Knight had only followed his direct orders, that a remote bomb should have been strapped to Veronica instead, and that she and false-flagging EMS Walter Christmas should receive medals. Morally outraged, Deputy Commissioner Domenic Toretti dropped his PD badge on the ground and resigned. After a contentious UPD high command meeting on September 5, 2023, LSPD Assistant Chief of Police Richard Dark-Rhodes interviewed Veronica (with Nick making sure they weren't followed), and noted a new war detail that Commissioner Axel Justice had picked her up and called her a hero when she originally volunteered for Director Knight's EMS task. Dark also mused about when exactly Veronica had decided in her mind that the C4 bombing mission was wrong. Suspended MCU Director Brian Knight appeared before the PD high command panel on September 9, 2023 that had convened to decide his fate, but resigned from the Unified Police Department/3.0 before they could finish deliberating. The HC panel also fired Deputy Walter Christmas from the UPD for his rogue actions during the Sanguine invasion. The devastation of the Sanguine Isle war plunged Los Santos into chaos. The former government, crippled by overspending and an inability to repay loans, crumbled, leaving its citizen in disarray. Forced to evacuate due to the lack of support from other nations, the once vibrant city became a ghost town, a failed state. |

Veronica had an interview on January 10ᵗʰ, 2022 with C.O.P. Sam Baas, as well as Lily Pond, Sexton Hardcastle, and Brian Knight. A few other officers were also attending, with some even gathering outside the office. In this interview, Baas asked Veronica questions about herself, her past as well as a few ethical questions. Mars believes she aced the interview, but she is in no rush to get hired. Mars was questioned about shaving her head if she was asked to by a superior. Mars heavily objected to the idea but after the interview ended she went straight to a barbershop and shaved her head. |

On April 26ᵗʰ, 2022, Mars, Jerry Sweets and Dave Dingo had a preliminary training with Lily Pond, Sexton Hardcastle, Reggie Might, and Crocodile Steve.
