Tyler "Ty" Thompson is a character role-played by TheEazyLife.
Ty is a former member of The Dons and an unofficial Gulag Gang associate. He is also a former member and Shotcaller of The Families. Although seen as dumb by some thanks to his unique way of speaking, Ty has shown he can be very diplomatic and intelligent when he wants to be.
Background[]
Ty grew up in Chamberlain Hills and from a young age, he experienced the harsh realities that come from a life in the hood. At the age of 16, Ty murdered a man in a robbery gone wrong where he cut the cashiers throat after he pressed the emergency button alarming the police. When the cops arrived they found Ty putting up a wet floor sign beside the puddle of the mans blood, insisting that it was to make sure no little kids from the neighbourhood slipped and hurt themselves. Ty spent the next few years in prison for the armed robbery and death of the cashier.
Events[]
Joining The Families[]
Ty was released from prison when he was 22 years old, he returned to the southside where he had grown up and was found by Andrew "Drew" Jackson who at the time was a member of The Families. Ty hung around GSF for a while and was eventually prospected by Derek Zane.
The Civil War and Promotion[]
During the turmoil within The Families after Drew attempted to claim the title of Triple OG, Ty initially declared himself off from the gang, giving his flag and chain off to Dexx Martin and telling him that he didn't want to follow a dictator. But after many talks with other members, Ty came back to the set, before a big family meeting in the VU. Shortly after the war against Street Team and Ballas broke out right after the war against Gulag Gang ended and even while The Families' members' morale are low due to Drew's faults, Ty asserted himself into a leadership role and worked to keep GSF from collapsing. Alongside OG Carter Banx they eventually managed to get both Dexx and Drew to hold off on their issues to focus on the survival of the gang. His efforts were recognized and Ty was promoted past several ranks, from Goon to Enforcer of The Families.
Blooding Out Brian and Drew[]
Ty alongside Derek Zane and Curtis "CJ" James decided they were going to blood-out his Brian O'Copnel after a conversation in which he stated his unwillingness to go to war to protect other members of The Families. After a meeting on the diamond together with Drew, Drew shot Brian, blooding him out of GSF. Ty believes he would have wanted to blood his best friend out on a safer way, however he also respects the set where Brian and Drew are in.
Few moments after Brian's blood out, Ty saw a perfect opportunity to tie up the loose ends from Drew's attempted takeover of The Families. He concurred with both Derek and CJ, who both agreed it was finally time as the Ballas war had ended. They told Drew that his time in GSF war over and walked him from the baseball diamond to middle alley, where he was shot by the three as well as Paklin Nash.
Leaving The Families[]
From a prospect who was spraying GSF tags on BSK's turf, to seeing low-rank GSF members gear up to take a BBMC spray to get to the 25th spray by the call of fellow Shotcaller CJ, it was all clear to Ty that he had enough. During an outburst in a meeting turned sour, he declared his resignation as a shotcaller after he told the new members that they are aggressive and disobedient to him. This was proved when after he aired his complaints, he pulled a gun for his protection and one of the new members, Eddie Ochoa, pulled a bigger gun. After this he defused himself at the casino and confided to GSF's enemies, the Gulag Gang, who sympathized with his troubles. A day after, while hanging around the set, he was met with a surprising kindness from one of the GSF members, an act that Ty became paranoid for his life. Not too long, he called up Paklin Nash and talked in the Vinewood Hills for a talk. There, he shared his grievance about the state of GSF where he stated that they are weak with the new members acting out and admitted that he didn't like CJ overriding him. However after Pak disagreed with him, Ty felt frustrated and told her that GSF can blood him out instead. Pak then started shooting him after he drove off with his car. Ty immediately shot back and incapacitated Pak, leaving her to bleed in the hills.
Ty the Hunted[]
After Pak was found and gone to ICU, Ty hinted to Khalid Hussain in a phone call that he shot Paklin. Ty then sought comfort to his friend Omar Dedon of The Dons, the other members of Gulag Gang, and Eric, who sympathized with him throughout the ordeal. Only few heated words exchanged with Carter in a phone call, Ty believed he was now hunted by The Families. A day later, Ty was taunted by Khalid by receiving a text message from him to "come home". Visiting the Crystal Heights alley, Ty met with T.O. and started a conversation however they were interrupted by Chris Mobbins, who was angry at Ty's presence. A fistfight ensued by Ty and Chris but then Chris was incapacitated by Ty. Ty was was then shot by Chris in retaliation. Few days later while hanging with Omar, Ty was found and chased from Alta apartments by a GSF crew lead by Carter, was shot by them, but then were apprehended by the police - including himself. There was also an attempt to clear the air when Ty met a peculiar character and brother of Megaphone, Rick Tames Jr. III, who heard his problems of the gang and made Ty talk it out with another GSF member Frankie Lorenzo - a conversation that fortunately didn't end with guns.
Blood Out[]
For weeks Ty mulled about his fate moving forward while he waited for his father and GSF leader Dexx to come back to the city and sort it out. In the early week of August, Ty finally caught up with Dexx and met on a bench in Forum Drive. He explained his side of his story to the end and the reason of why GSF is in a hard place, but Dexx was hearing none of it. Finding that both weren't agreeing about the gang's situation, Ty and Dexx stood up and were approached by Carter, Rome, and CJ. Ty then criticized CJ of his politics, a moment of what sounded like the end of their discussion. Immediately, Carter stabbed Ty and right after, had the D of his Davis tattoo carved out by Davis OG Rome.
The Dons[]
Ty joined The Dons on August 3, 2022 through taking Omar Dedon's offer being hunted by GSF. However to Ty's disappointment, The Dons settled in the southside, in the Aztecas's former turf.
