On June 18, 2021, Tommy Tate (better known by his stage name "Tommy T") teamed up with long-time friend, Dwayne "Wiked" Flores, to release the self-titled song "Tommy T" which was released under Wu Chang Records. The song gained instant success and quickly became the most played song in Los Santos. After the release and success of the song, Tommy and Dwayne began working on creating their own record label, named MDM Records, which was founded on November 17, 2021.
Seventeen months after the release of his first song, Tommy featured on a second song with fellow MDM Records artist; Big Toe. The song, titled; "TOLD YOU", was released on November 4, 2022 and it served as the lead single for Big Toe's album "PARTY TILL THE END". The following month on December 19, 2022, Tommy released his first song as a lead artist and third overall; titled "Here To Stay" which features SparkyKNE, the release was also accompanied by its music video. The song was certified platinum just 6 hours after its release, making it the fastest song to reach this milestone in Los Santos. On February 16, 2023, the song was certified diamond, 59 days after its release.
Since his debut, Tommy has achieved a Diamond Certification with the songs; "Tommy T" and "Here To Stay", and he is also the only artist to receive at least a Platinum certification on all of their songs. At the NoPixel Music Awards, he was nominated for one award, Music Video of the Year, for "Tommy T".
