The Family

Simply known as "The Italians" by many in the city but often refered to as "The Family" by close associates and members. The Family were originally established in Los Santos by Sicilian brothers Vittorio and Luciano DiCenzo. With their arrival in the city came a small following of Cousins and loyal followers of the DiCenzo family name, which established itself in the city of "Saint Denis" in the late 19th and early 20th Century.

Family History[]

"The Family," as it's known today, was a product of an organization known as "The DiCenzo Famiglia." This organization was operated by Santino and Cesare DiCenzo in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The brothers, originally from Sicily, controlled large areas of Saint Denis, often coming to blows with law enforcement and other rival groups.

During this time, the brothers gained a loyal following who helped them establish their reputation as a serious organization, not to be messed with. Many of the loyalties earned by the ancestors of Vittorio and Luciano have held strong to this day, and a number of The Family's most loyal members can trace their family history, in some way, back to the DiCenzo Famiglia.

The Brothers[]

Vittorio DiCenzo is the current head of the family, known to be calculating, veracious, and protective of those he cares about. Often referred to simply as "Vito," his logical and calculated mentality makes him an excellent leadership figure. However, this does have a tendency to backfire when engaged in conversations of a more emotional nature, as he often speaks his mind even in situations that may have required a more nuanced approach.

Luciano DiCenzo was responsible for the early establishment of The Family. Alongside his brother, he assisted in resolving many of the growing pains that came with establishing the organization. However, he realized early on that he needed to branch out and find his own path. After careful consideration and consulting with key members of the family, Luciano announced that he would be stepping away indefinitely to work with Lang Buddha.

Ultimately, despite often disagreeing with each other, the brothers are both fiercely loyal towards one another—a loyalty only ever shown to each other, to their cousins, and significant others.

Early Infighting[]

The Family experienced a number of events involving members arguing, fighting, and disagreeing with each other. This has often created friction between various members and trouble for Vito, who regularly has to disarm situations between family members.

Despite this, Vito maintains hope that the family will stabilize with time. As more structure is introduced, pressure will be taken off him to problem-solve around these internal issues personally.

Both Luciano and Vito have expressed their frustration dealing with excessive drama, and it remains one of the major problems that Vito is attempting to repair.

Italian Clones?!?[]

The Italians are well-known for their large numbers, leading some in Los Santos to consider that Italy may have invented cloning technology and be attempting to take over the city by flooding it with Italians.

At one stage, the numbers of Italians reached close to 30, meaning that when properly organized and motivated, their ability to complete goals and tasks is almost unmatched. It is exceptionally rare to see any less than 10 of these so-called "Italian clones" in the city at once.

Despite these claims, nobody has been able to prove one way or another whether The Italians are indeed clones.

The Disbandment[]

On 28th January 2024, Vito, Eve, Carlo, and later Joe discussed many of the known dramas within the group. Eve, as the consigliere, gave detailed information regarding each issue, supported by Carlo.

After hearing this, Vito made it clear that The Family could not continue to operate under those conditions. When asked if he believed these problems would persist, the answer was "almost certainly yes."

With that information, the decision was made to announce the disbandment of the organization. However, after this was announced to the wider Family, it was discovered that many of the problems given by Eve and Carlo had been blown out of proportion and were only minor issues. Despite this, Vito's view of leading The Family had been soured beyond saving.

The Disbandment

The Family accuse Eve, Carlo and Fiona of betraying Them.

The anger from many of the family members was evident and directed squarely towards Eve and Carlo for convincing Vito that the problems within the family were larger than they were in reality. This was exacerbated by the pair selling the recently purchased Family House without consulting the wider Family, who had all contributed to the purchase. The pair acknowledged that the house was sold at a huge loss but that they would be keeping 100% of their cut while repaying members of the family half of the original buy-in.

The Family still largely stuck together and will likely continue despite Vito stepping back. A number of members have stated their intention to rebuild The Family as equals, with retribution against Eve and Carlo definitely on the cards.
