The Funhouse Clowns

The Funhouse Clowns are the group of clowns and other people associated with, or work for Chatterbox in his Funhouse Games business, previously based out of the The Funhouse. They are not a formal group or gang, but are close.

After the destruction of the Funhouse and at the beginning of Chatterbox's house arrest, he began planning a new Clowncil to solidify the Funhouse Clowns into a proper "gang," alongside rebuilding the Funhouse itself. This required a business grant which Chatterbox successfully applied for and got $3.5 million from the Blaine County Mayor's Office to rebuild. The business roster itself is mostly serving as a member list for the new Clowncil (with the exception of Helen Highwater as HR), with Chatterbox being very selective on who to invite.

Keys[]

The original signifier of membership in the Funhouse Clowns was having a key to the Funhouse basement. It was possible for a member to be suspended by taking their key, and then potentially working to deserve the key back. Examples include Buttons, Ember Quinn, and Mr. Ratchet.

Due to his violent and sociopathic behavior towards the clowns, Tessa told Jagger Gerardy that his (Chatterbox's) key was taken away as punishment, even though the Funhouse was destroyed.

History[]

The group emerged after the Clowncil and New Clown Order were disbanded by Chatterbox, causing most clowns in the city to separate into their own ventures.

Chatterbox had plans for organizing events in the basement underneath the Funhouse, the Funhouse Games. He gathered together many clowns he trusted, giving most of them new keys to the Funhouse, as well as clown vans that were donated by RON Oil. Soon after, they mysteriously received blueprints for parachutes, molotov cocktails, and various melee weapons, and began operating a business to produce and sell these items throughout the city.

The Funhouse Clowns have been involved in drama and conflict since their formation. Relations have been cool between many members and the group that would become The Neon Circus, due to the hostility between Chatterbox (and his original personality Jagger) and Sooty Gamwich, complications involving Ember Quinn and her wife, Johanna Golden, and Sneaky having to deal with his ex-girlfriend, Emi Bella. The group has also been involved in various ways with Pestilence, his plague, and the ensuing impact across the city. Conflicts with Hydra Gang, Hades Gang, Sewer Rats and members of South Cypress are common. Mimes reemerged in a final push to remove all clowns from Los Santos, resulting in various attacks and kidnappings against the Funhouse Clowns.

Disillusioned by how serious the Funhouse Clowns were becoming in dealing with the mimes, Pico Pingafria quit being a clown and a member of the FHC, dedicating his time to being a member of the Los Santos Police Department.

After the destruction of the Funhouse at the end of the Mime War, Chatterbox no longer considered the group active, but they largely remained together, despite Jagger's sniping spree. The group was finally made obsolete with the creation of the new business, Chatterbox Funhouse.

In exchange for information about Ray Mond, Chatterbox agreed to Mickey Sinclaire's heist contract for the clowns to board the SS Bulker cargo ship with an armed NWL security team on it, loot its private cache shipments of weaponry and hi-tech gear, and steal an attack helicopter from the top of it.

On the day of the heist on April 14, 2025, Mickey gave Chatterbox a tank for the mission (but misplaced the keys to it). A "clownvoy" of fake safety official Tessa Lamb, grapple gunner Chatterbox, grapple gunner Twinkles, paratrooper Kirk Jerkems, paratrooper Mr. Ratchet, shooter Derpy, and sniper Happy D'Klown drove to the cargo ship with a "distraction" clown van team including Osvaldo Pingafria, Wendy Thomas, Snuffles, and Sneaky. The captain of the security guards only permitted Tessa to board the cargo ship for her bomb safety demonstration (a ruse to blow up as many guards as possible). Convinced by Tessa's lie that her C4 Bomb was inert, the captain tinkered with it and accidentally blew up her, himself, and two other guards. After Mr. Ratchet fell off the bridge in a failed parachute attempt, Kirk successfully parachuted onto the cargo ship.

Happy accidentally fell off the bridge holding the sniper rifle (twice), and the guards shot down Twinkles in a firefight. While pushing the guards with Kirk, Derpy accidentally gunned down Chatterbox with friendly fire. The police shot down both Derpy and Mr. Ratchet as he tried to board the attack helicopter. Although the last clown standing Kirk made it to the attack helicopter, the police blew it up with a hail of gunfire. Kirk dropped his munitions trying to flee the police, but they eventually caught him along with all of the downed clowns. Tessa fooled Officer Carmine Costello into letting her go, the clowns were charged with maritime piracy, and Happy received a million dollar fine for the Class-3 heavy sniper rifle.

Final Battle of the Clown-Mime War (June 19, 2025)

Over the months, both sides built up their armies, and fought at The Funhouse again. The Mime Emperor and Baron Mimekonnen led a Mime siege against the world's remaining clowns in one of the largest battles in San Andreas history. BonBon, Tandy Miller, and Professor Bubbles returned to fight for the clowns. Flop Dugong, Crimbo, the Cuban Federales, the Already Dead MC, and Hydra Gang also fought alongside the clowns. Windsong stayed inside The Funhouse as a combat medic. Helicopters, tanks, and many explosives were used in the conflict. The clowns also had rigged their clown vans with bombs.

Although outnumbered, the Clowns were able to hold off the Mimes for a large amount of time. Chatterbox and the Mime Emperor went down simultaneously to sniper shots. One mime Mute Loops managed to take down about 10 clowns during his breach of The Funhouse before Tandy blew him up with a sticky bomb. The Mimes eventually managed to blow up The Funhouse with C4, downing Kirk Jerkems and about a dozen other clowns in the explosion. The Clowns managed to shoot the Mime Emperor to death near The Funhouse. With The Funhouse falling apart due to the C4 explosion and subsequent fires, the combat survivors evacuated the downed clowns before one final gas-leak explosion reduced The Funhouse to rubble. Afterward, the Baron became the new Emperor and declared peace to end the war.

Cuban Federales
The current incarnation of the Cuban Federales is a strong ally of the Funhouse Clowns, sharing many members and supporting them directly in the war against the mimes. The two groups often work together on various schemes and crimes.

Friendly[]

FLop Gang
Founded by Flop Dugong, FLop Gang is an informal group of people that have all been blooded out (or in the case of police, fired unjustly) in the past. Tessa is vice-president.

Already Dead MC
Because of Chatterbox and Barry Benson's years-long friendship, ADMC is considered friendly to the Clowns. There are other connections between the groups as well, such as Osvaldo's adopted son Jack Ramsay and Tessa's nephew Shang Liu. There of course has also been conflict, the most notable example being the murder of Giblets at the hands of ADMC members while they were still Bondi Boys MC.

The Guild
The Guild are great friends of Osvaldo and both the Funhouse Clowns and the Guild have members in the Cuban Federales. Additionally, Tessa's sister is Guild Priest Eve Summers. Chatterbox is terrified of Guild Leader Yaeger Demonblood, and Bjorn once he joined the BCSO.

Rivals[]

Hydra Gang

After Chang Gang departed from San Andreas, the Clowns lost their favorite gang to prank and mess with, but due to Chatterbox's personal history with Flippy, and Hydra's historical connections to Chang Gang, they quickly filled that void.

Much like Chang Gang before them, Hydra have a complex history with the Funhouse. Hydra did assist them directly in the Battle of the Funhouse, but they found themselves involved in Jagger's schemes, where he tried to get them to abduct Wendy. There are also personal friendships between the Hydra and FHC members as well, like Kirk and Hazel. While not actual clowns but closely associated with them as Pingafrias, Maddie Trejo is in a relationship with Claude "Kio" Petit, and Esmeralda Pingafria is romantically linked to Raccoon as well.

The Neon Circus
Co-founded by former Clowncil member Sooty Gamwich, the Neon Circus is an artist collective that includes clowns. However from the Funhouse Clowns' perspective, the Neon clowns were all rejected or departed from the FHC for not fitting in with their group philosophy. Chatterbox coined the term "going down the waterfall" for any clown that he believes would be a better fit for the Neon Circus.

Hades Gang & Habibis

Cypress (Disbanded) / New Babylon

Chatterbox and Lang Buddha have a feud going back years to the days of the Rooster's Rest restaurant. This led to a special hostile relationship between the Funhouse Clowns and both North Cypress and South Cypress, and notable members like Harry Brown and Luciano DiCenzo are frequently targeted by pranks. However, there are friends of the Clowns within Cypress as well, too, such as Elle Queenie, one of Twinkles' best friends. Cypress also helped out with weaponry for the Battle of the Funhouse as well.

Cypress was dissolved recently by Lang Buddha and the other dons in favor of forming a new settlement called New Babylon in Blaine County. It remains to be seen what the relationship with the commune will be with the Funhouse Clowns, as several clowns have been approached about joining. However, New Babylon also has had the core of the disbanded 3PAS Cartel led by Edgar Del Castillo, an enemy of the Lamb Family (Tessa, Bobby, Hazel, and Chatterbox).

Blaine County Sheriff's Office & Los Santos Police Department

Historically, the Clowns have had an antagonistic relationship with "badged gang-bangers", as the Clowns are often criminals, and view some police as potentially corrupt or easily abusing their power. However, the Clowns often enjoy pranking police and being in chases with them, and most police officers generally find clowns to be a more pleasant experience to deal with than the average criminal.

For the past year, as the identities of both the Funhouse Clowns, as well as both police departments have evolved, the Funhouse Clowns generally have treated the BCSO more favorably than the LSPD. The BCSO's proximity to Grapeseed helps significantly, as well as the Blaine "culture" within the department. Mumbles, while Governor of the Great Republic of Grapeseed and then Mayor of Blaine County, actively worked with the department. The city cops of the LSPD, on the other hand, tend to be slightly more serious, although there have been some great and unique foils for the Clowns within their ranks, such as J.R. Nixon and Alex Shields.

Recently, relations between the Funhouse Clowns and BCSO became worse, due to the arrest of Chatterbox for over a dozen attempted murders, and the subsequent house arrest overseen by Helen Highwater. While Helen became closer to the Clowns, the new sheriff Arnold Frost, his captain Brian Knight, and Undersheriff Brittany Angel continued to antagonize Chatterbox. After they fired Helen from the department, the Clowns rallied to her side.

Sewer Rats
The Sewer Rats are a group based out The Sewers that antagonize the Clowns on occasion. They are led by former clown Wayne Freeman.

Enemies[]

The Mimes

The Mimes are the archenemies of all Clowns. Most of the members of the Funhouse Clowns have found in two wars against the Mimes. The first war was lost, and the second was a victory, although the Funhouse was lost in the process. Some mimes continue to act independently: David Wonders and the General Marceaux Mimique still antagonize clowns after the war. There are also mimes that refuse to associate with the hostile ones. Claudia Skyes, who works as a sign language interpreter for city events, is one of these. The clowns treat her positively, and some clowns, like Reina, have known her for years.

The Darag Family
The Darag Family is a family of clowncist farmers from Grapeseed that claim the Funhouse area as their residence. They antagonize all clowns.

The Smileys
The Smileys are a collective of serial killers led by Mr. Smiley, that have been antagonists of the Clowns for years, as well as individual newer members like Tessa and Johanna. They came into conflict most recently with Ember Quinn being brainwashed into their group.
