The Besties is a criminal gang founded on December 15th, 2023 by Fanny, Ming, and 4Head.
Origins[]
The Besties first came together when Fanny, Ming, and 4Head crossed paths just outside the Cràpphuise Apartments on December 15th, 2023. Fanny approached a small group and asked for assistance with driving a manual car, to which Ming volunteered. Later, they were joined by 4Head and almost instantly started planning, then deploying, their first scam as a trio. From that point on, they became inseparable, committing low-level petty crime and elaborate scams throughout the city, with Fanny coining the friend group as 'The Besties'.
Over time, the original trio came into contact with other criminals like Dez, AK, Lovemore, and 4Head's brother, Dickhead. These new criminal friends began joining the original trio on their journey, helping with their scams and criminal activities. Eventually, at an undesignated time, the friend group discussed their long-term intentions and how they wanted to operate within the city, recognizing that they were slowly becoming a fully operational gang. Thus, the first iteration of The Besties Gang was officially declared.
After a few months of operating as a gang, their criminal endeavors led them to cross paths with Future's crew, which included former members of the Gulag Gang like Zuck and Peter, along with a new face, RJ. Due to familiarity and the potential for expanding their operations, the two groups merged, forming a united organization, with other former Gulag Gang members also participating in the merger.
Now an established criminal organisation with multiple properties and businesses, the gang has had it's ups and downs, new members initiated and those blooded out, fights won and fights lost, but they continue to build their operations and are always eager to plan their next elaborate scam.
Name Origin[]
The name 'The Besties' started off as a joke, stemming from the original trio, who were initially known as "the three besties" (a nickname used exclusively by Fanny). 4Head wasn't fond of this name, as he believed it made him "less of a gangster," while Ming found it amusing and ironic. Fanny and Ming fully embraced the title, often exclaiming, "A couple of besties coming through!" wherever they went.
As their crew began to gain more members, and the line between a friend group and a gang became blurred, the matter of choosing a name was never properly addressed. By this point, even other major gangs in the city were referring to them as 'The Besties'.
During March 2024, after officially merging with Future's crew, there were several discussions about whether the name should be kept. However, the name had stuck and become well-known in the city, so they officially decided to continue being known as 'The Besties'.

March, 2024 - Growing Pains During the early days, the Besties Gang was new, uninitiated, and therefore subject to various growing pains, intra-group clashes, and conflicting outlooks on business and crime. Core members Fanny, 4Head and Ming had already found themselves caught in an ongoing web of tension that onlookers like Marty Banks like to describe as a "love triangle." When 4Head isn't volleying between glowing praise and threats of disbanding over profit margins, he is bringing attention to what he sees as the group's underlying issue: Fanny's influence over Ming. Fanny vs. 4Head: New Recruit or Interloper? Despite the fact that Fanny is newer to the city and the least experienced Besties member, she's the most confrontational after 4Head. This frequently results in verbal spats between the two that Ming more or less observed. During the absence of former GG members like Future, Ming stated that 4Head no longer has a regular outlet for his fits of irritation and is now taking his excess anger out on Fanny, as she's an easy target and quick to fire back in ways that Ming isn't. Like Future from the days of 4Head's Gulag Gang past, Fanny gives as much as she gets; once, she withdrew every dollar to her name to shut 4Head up about unfair profit splits, though 4Head refused to accept her money; Fanny once again proved that she wants every member of the group to succeed above all else—even at the detriment of her own bank account. "Fanny Changed Ming"Where Fanny is temper and tongue, Ming is cool and casual. Little fazes him, and he's infamous around the city of Los Santos for being a quiet, intensely focused gangbanger who can drive his way out of any sticky situation—and will do what it takes when it comes down to it. Even during rare moments of distraction, his past romantic attachments to figures like Carmella Corset have been characterized by chaos and strife: fellow gang member Marty shooting Carmella, cheating accusations with opposing gangs (Ramee from CG), and, most notably, Ming shooting and ocean-dumping Carmella on Truth Island for putting Larry in the ICU. After crossing paths with Fanny, however, a softer side of Ming has begun to emerge, much to the horror of friends from his gun-slinging past. Where Fanny's outrageous behaviour brings out Ming's rarely seen goofy side—including awful impressions and accents—Ming's unwavering composure in the face of catastrophe cools off Fanny's tendency towards panic, rage, and hysteria. With some, Ming's newer, softer side has been met by delight, as when Bobby, Zolo, and Chodie drove by while Ming stood holding an umbrella over Fanny during a rainstorm and shouted, "Yeaaah, Ming, I see you, I see you! Shit done changed!" following a long and involved discussion about Fanny being Ming's "shawty" and "boo thang" the night previous. With others, this change has been a cause for alarm as well as a sign that Ming's loyalty is veering off in dangerous directions.4Head is among Fanny and Ming's most vocal critics, and has made no secret of his disgust over their flirtatious dynamic; anything and everything has the power to set him off: from Ming requesting that his cut of the group's money be held by Fanny, to Fanny requesting that Ming use his mouth to suction her gas mask tighter to her face, 4Head is always ready and willing to voice this disapproval. |
