Ted Shredinker was born in Vice City, but moved to Liberty City when he was just 2 years old. His parents Michael Shredinker and Margaret Nagy-Shredinker were sadly the worst parents to have, physically and mentally abusing him throughout his childhood. Ted's father was a drug dealer and addict, his mother helped him and was also an addict.
Growing up Ted enjoyed watching cartoons, reading books, and writing. He was a very intelligent kid, so intelligent that his 5th grade teacher had him tested against his parents wishes and determined his IQ was 176, and could read and write at a high school/college level. Along with this test was a psychological profile which determined that he showed signs of trauma and abuse, however since it was done behind his parents back the information would only be held in a file drawer and never reported to authorities.
One of Ted's favorite thing to do was on Saturday's mornings watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He loved it so much he managed for Christmas to talk his parents into getting 4 pet turtles and a pet rat. After a year went by one day he was tired and was not hungry, but his parents wanted him to eat. When he refused his father took the turtles and rat away and tossed them out the back door.
After a few years more of abuse, Ted finally had enough.
On the eve of his 13th birthday just after the clock turned midnight, he woke up in a trance state, walked into the living where both parents were passed out on the couch, and killed both of them. He grabbed his dads favorite bowling ball and smashed both of their heads in. The now 13 year old Ted slowly walked out to the front yard covered in blood and just stood there. The neighbors called the police and they discovered a brutal scene.
Ted was admitted to a psychiatric ward for youth while they evaluated his mental and physical health. Physically he was in good health considering he suffered from malnutrition, but the doctors there diagnosed him with PTSD from the child abuse.
After 6 months he managed to find a way to sneak out of the facility, and disappear into the depths of Liberty City. This is when he met several others like him who were homeless teenagers. That is when he organized the group and formed what would be called Street Killerz.
His crew SK was like his only family. They stole from wealthy people in the city, and stole fast cars. They began to develop an underground racing scene that rivaled all others. Before each racing event they noticed he would shred a block of cheese for a snack, so his crew nicknamed him "Shredder". Ted was unique because he believed in education and being intelligent with their criminal activities. This is why he made sure every member of his crew went through school, and even sent some to specialty schools to have master mechanics, hackers, and some of the best racers in the city.
After years of success and only a few run in with undercover cops attempting to get into their organizations deep underbelly, eventually one cop managed to make it as far as his closest members of his inner circle.
By pure luck on Ted's part he discovered who the undercover cop was. When he confronted him, he found out that the cop was actually a dirty cop trying to play both sides. His goal was to extort him for millions of dollars while at the same time getting a big bust to further increase his ego. Ted turned his back to grab his knife when the cop swung at him. They began to scuffle and fight while the cop trying to get closer to the knife on the table. Eventually he grabbed it, and in the struggle he got a clean slash upwards which almost took Ted's eye out. In doing this Ted had an opening and managed to turn the knife back on the cop and plunge it into his chest. It turned out that the dirty cop was live streaming everything via a hidden cam so an entire force of police swarmed in and arrested Ted.
Ted was sent to prison for killing the cop, however his lawyer managed to show that Ted suffered from PTSD and several mental health issues that required a lower security prison. While there he began to have black outs. The doctors and guards seemed very distant with him, but Ted being as smart as he is figured out they are obviously hiding something from him. Eventually he managed to sneak into the office of the head of psychology. He found his file, and what he found stunned him.
When he opened the file he saw a tab titled "Mr Sad". When he opened the file it was blank except for one sticky note that said "...they are completely different" with no context.
Eventually he planned to escape but knew he could not stay in Liberty City. So using a stolen phone from a guard he saw that a new life could be started in Los Santos. He managed to get some money together from his former crew mates, and got a one way ticket. He swore that whatever waits for him in Los Santos he will not allow his past to control his future.
