Backstory[]
Si, or Simon Cunningham, was born in Stratford Northeast London in an area know as Cockney London. He is the middle of three siblings: one older brother Steve and a younger sister Clara.
As a child he very much idolised his older brother and saw him as more of a father figure than his alcoholic never-present father. He spent of lot of his childhood following Steve around like a sheep. Due to how his father was, he became very protective of Clara — a situation that would later get him into serious problems.
Hanging onto every word and idea that Steve had eventually lead both Simon and Steve getting heavily involved in a crew related to their favourite football team West Ham utd. This crew was known as the Green Street Massive, a notorious group of hooligans who were very much into the violent culture and darkside of English football. Weekly arranged fights and brawls with crews relating to the week’s opposing team were brutal, and no methods were out of bounds. Sometimes these matches even resulted in severe injures to people and occasionally death. Simon found the violence to be stimulating and thrilling, and so he needed another way to satiate his more ambitious nature. He became involved in small acts of shoplifting and pickpocketing, as well as working on very amateur attempts at the art of the con.
Both Simon and Steve remained part of the football culture for several years, until eventually Steve met the love of his life and the woman he would one day marry: Lucy. With Steve becoming less present in his little brother’s life, Simon became to lose a sense of direction. In a bid to make himself a better man and to do his best for Lucy, Steve eventually stepped away from that lifestyle entire and joined the military instead, where he excelled.
This led to strife between the two once-close brothers. Steve’s military life took him away for long stretches of time, and he dedicated the rest of his time to Lucy. Simon perceived this distance as abandonment, a repetition of how his actual father had abandoned him, and so it made him bitter and jealous. Feeling alienated, Simon fiercely clutched to his last remaining family tie: that of his sister Clara. He became more protective and possessive of her than ever before. This spiraled into a moment that would forever change Simon’s life. One night when he and his sister were out on the two, two drunken men tried to hit on Clara. Simon snapped... losing all control. One man suffered severe brain damage, and the other lost his life.
As Simon was only sixteen at the time, his sentence for his crimes wasn’t as harsh as it could and should have been, yet still Si spent seven years in prison. During this time Simon made new friends and associates, some of whom would remain so to the present day. Some of these new connections introduced him to a new life as part of what he would later find out was the British mob.
After his release from prison, Simon learned he had a niece named Christina. Simon found himself spending a lot of time providing for and spoiling her— as his criminal activities had burned his relationship with his sister, who cut off contact with him due to his actions, turning her back on the vile person he had proven himself to be.
Simon felt no means was out of bounds to give Christina everything she would ever need. He ended up using his prison-made connects to become a part of the British mob. During this time he perfected his art of being a conman, learnt about heists and many other tricks, all while becoming more twisted and vile. It was during one of these jobs that he met Tommy Brown, who instantly peaked Simon’s interests. Tommy was ambitious and thristy for all life had to offer, full of grand plans, and Simon found himself filling the paternal void left by Steve with Tommy, looking at him as a mentor and father-figure.
After several years Tommy parted ways with Simon, yet unlike his prior father figures, Simon did not feel abandoned. Tommy had shared his dreams with Si and parted ways with him to pursue them, and he left Simon with a mission and a goal to achieve til they one day met again to finalize the plan.
Simin made many friends along his journeys; Fraser, who proved to be skilled and intuitaive, and Liam, who fast became Simon’s closest and most trusted friend. Sadly however, Simon’s darker nature eventually caused him more troubles. After a few years he received word of his brother’s passing, and to make it worse his brother was labeled as a traitor who had betrayed his military unit. This unsettled Simon, regardless of how angry he was at Steve, as this image of his brother he had painted and looked up to for so long was a lie. Simon was mentally unstable, and during a job with the mafia boss’s son, he had a disagreement that lead to Simon repeatedly smashing his head into a curb. After calming down, he realised the postion he was now in, so he contacted Fraser and fled the country.
Simon ended up in Los Santos. After looking around he and Fraser realized this place was perfect, corruptable, naive, and right for the taking. Simon instantly saw the golden ticket he... no, Tommy had been waiting for, and so now all he need to do was one more thing...
