The Shark Rangers Unit, otherwise known as the SRU, is the Unified Police Department/3.0's official Marine Division. Colonel Baas officially appointed Edward Thatch to lead the unit on March 6th, 2023, and to develop a ranking structure and standard procedure for the unit to follow. One week later, Captain Thatch officially announced the unit's rebirth to the Unified Police Department.

The Shark Rangers Unit is a specialized law enforcement division dedicated to maintaining maritime security, preventing sea-based crimes, and providing crucial assistance in water-based emergencies along side the EMS. Operating within the city's coastal areas and waterways, this highly trained unit plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of both residents and visitors.
Oath
"I, [name], a fearless member of the San Andreas Shark Rangers, swear to uphold the laws of the sea, protect the citizens of San Andreas, and occasionally make a splash (literally and figuratively).
I promise to use my skills, training, and common sense to navigate any situation that arises, whether it be a search and rescue mission or a rogue jet ski on the loose. And I vow to always have a witty remark ready, even in the most perilous situations.
