Save Our Souls (SOS) was a criminal street gang operating out of Playa Vista in northwest Los Santos that is now inactive, becoming defunct in December 2022.
General Description[]
Save Our Souls (SOS) operated out of the Playa Vista area in northwest Los Santos. They used to hold down an apartment complex and the surrounding houses on the corner of La Playa and Bay City Avenue, and exercised exclusive rights to push drugs in the Seaside-controlled territories north of Bay City incline. This apartment complex is now controlled by The Sirens, led by Mona Sanchez.
Leadership of the gang was handled through a council system, with the six OG members controlling equal voting rights over all decisions. In practice, Angel Jiménez was often treated as the de facto head in discussions with other groups.
SOS wore the colors white and grey to distinguish themselves, with blooded-in members wearing a light grey bandana as their flag. Hangarounds were encouraged to wear other grey articles of clothing, but could not use the bandana.
Origins[]
In early June 2022, a group of high school friends all moved to Los Santos together. Their old friend Julian Santorno introduced them to his grandmother Ash Ketchup, and many of this friend group would quickly find employment at the UwU Café through her.
As time went on—and as this group of friends continued to work, commit crimes, and generally stick together—they decided they needed a name for themselves. The term "Pool boys," suggested by Charles Raymond, quickly caught on. These "poolboys", through their connections with Julian, Ash and others, became deeply connected to the Seaside family, a crime family controlling the areas surrounding Del Perro beach in west Los Santos, including Dean World pier, la Playa, and parts of Bay City Avenue.
As the poolboys settled in, a few of them decided to band together and form a more serious criminal group. While the poolboys were an amorphous friend group including both civilians and criminals, their new organization would be more structured, control a set, and rep a flag together.
These members would become the six OGs and chose the name "SOS" (Save Our Souls) for their group. This name combined references to their affiliation with Seaside, as well as a nod to their past as the Sinister Souls MC, which all the members were apart of in the green city. With the formation of SOS, all poolboys were granted an open invitation to join at a hangaround status.
Due to the close ties and friendship between the groups, Seaside granted SOS a compound on the corner of La Playa and Bay City Avenue to claim as their turf, and Ash Ketchup had purchasable apartments added, assisted by Francis J Francer. SOS began holding down and tagging their compound on June 29th, 2022.
Activities[]
Initially, the gang largely focused on petty crimes, with their income supplemented by legal employment. Following the establishment of their turf and an area for pushing in late June 2022, as well as the release of Jack Stone from prison, SOS began heavily establishing themselves in weed cultivation and distribution. Jack later got caught again for drug trafficking, resulting in a lack of weed production for the crew. They took a short break from cultivation until Princess Rin Reyes [Rin Reyes] and Lucas Spade gained an interest in the process. Jack revealed to them all of his secret growing spots, as well as his vast knowledge on the subject. Lucas picked it up fast and quickly became the prominent 'tomato farmer' for the group; producing more than over 350 plants within his first two days of growing.
The group was also interested in heists and has both skilled hackers and drivers on their roster, but without being recognized on the city's 'gang app' they relied on other groups to provide them access codes.
Relations[]
Seaside - While SOS shared a close relationship and alliance with Seaside, the two groups are distinct and equal partners. Neither members nor leadership of Seaside have the right to give orders to anybody in SOS, or the ability to make decisions on the group's behalf. The groups will not involve themselves in the each others wars, unless their opponents bring in third parties first. Additionally, SOS would not take part in any Seaside turf wars, even if it is the territory over their own compound at stake.
The Mandem - The SOS apartment complex is located just west of the Mandem Block and both groups are in close proximity to each other. At first, some members of The Mandem weren't too keen on the idea of another crew claiming territory so close to their own. Some members even wanted to kick them out. Wayne Biggaz of Chang Gang was driving around near the SOS Block with Dean Quincy one day and came upon SOS hangaround Isaac Tate. Isaac had just woken up and was putting up the SOS "sprays" all around the complex. Dean saw this and quickly pulled up to Isaac and questioned him about the signs. Dean and Wayne demanded that he take the signs down immediately because it is Mandem territory. Isaac stood his ground and refused to wipe the SOS sprays off, resulting in Wayne shooting him. The next day, some SOS members met with Patar Bellosh of Mandem and settled the beef. They explained to Patar that the block is not Mandem territory but rather under Seaside's control. They further stated that Seaside blessed them with permission to claim the block and showed him the Seaside spray on the back of the Eastern wall, inside the alleyway, approximately 10ft away from where Wayne and Dean gunned down Isaac. The Mandem and SOS are currently on neutral, and somewhat friendly terms.
Angels - The Angels had reached out offering to be the main Class 1 weapons supplier to SOS.
Trivia[]
- SOS were members of the Sinister Souls MC equivalent in the NoPixel Public Server. Their membership is not canon in the whitelist server.
- While the inner compound apartments were reserved for members of SOS, apartments on the exterior of compound are available to both members of Seaside and SOS.
- The first apartment was purchased by Dragon Rush on June 29th, 2022.
- SOS hoped to eventually have a custom bandana imported to the city.
- The first people to be blooded-in to SOS were Hans Hammer, Jack Stone, and Jonathan Hoig. All of which became full members of the crew after completing a successful interception of a secret convoy, transporting $100k. Vague details about the convoy, as well as a GPS tracker, were given to SOS by Street Team leader, Capped Tarranova.
