Sanguine Isle was an island located to the south east of Los Santos and a sovereign state owned by Commandant Yeager Demonblood.
Description[]
The island is fortified and patrolled by armed guards. There is an airport at the north end of the island, where guests to the island arrive. At the south end of the island there is a walled compound and villa. On the west shore of the island there is a marina with boats that may be used to return to Los Santos.
History[]
Not much is known about the history of the island prior to its takeover by Yeager Demonblood.
Yeager's estranged father, Mayor of Los Santos Lang Buddha, resented that the Los Santos Senate had unilaterally passed the Sanguine Isle Sovereignty & Extradition Policies legislation to recognize Sanguine Isle as a Sovereign State. Irritated by Chief Judge Alan Crane's insinuation that Lang had done something similar going around him to pass the Aegis Authorization Act, Lang permanently cut ties with Crane. Lang managed to legislate the Customs & Border Protection Act to allow AEGIS to enforce import and export laws against Sanguine Isle. The update in legislation gave AEGIS the power to grant visas to Sanguine Isle citizens in order to be able to come to San Andreas, and to grant exit visas for Sanguine Isle. Although AEGIS appointed Edward "Moosebeard" Thatch to head their Customs and Border Protection Task Force and hired his Shark Rangers to it, AEGIS never managed to solve the logistics for collecting protective tariffs from Yeager, catching and fining smugglers, seizing prohibited or un-tariffed items, and deporting illegal visitors from the Isle.
As of Spring 2023, the San Andreas police launched a top secret spying mission on the island known as 'Operation Ragnarok'. Undercover police officer Johnny Divine's cover eventually got blown, which Yeager vilified as a violation of San Andreas' treaty with Sanguine Isle. Police Sgt. Shelby Lane was held responsible for accidentally leaking Divine's cover to Yeager and fired as a consequence.
Sanguine Isle has an elevator that leads to a secret underwater trap. Yeager once used it on June 15, 2023 to drown Raymond Romanov and his R.U.S.T entourage when they kidnapped and shot Guild member Eve Summers during a war against Lang Buddha and Cerberus.
As of July 2023, a small number of people have active passports to Sanguine, with Capped Tarranova being one of them.
War with Los Santos[]
The heightened escalation of bombings in San Andreas, one of which killed Commissioner Sam Baas in the line of duty, led the Major Crimes Unit to investigate the smugglings of explosive weaponry from the Sanguine Isle. On August 20, 2023, Chief Justice Alan Crane notified the replacement Commissioner Axel Justice, Director Brian Knight, and Mayor Andi Jones that the Los Santos Senate authorized Commissioner Axel to prepare an invasion of Sanguine Isle, and that after a couple of days any San Andreas visitor caught there would serve a 30-year prison sentence for treason. Crane notified Commandant Yeager Demonblood before issuing the following state announcement:
“
Los Santos Hereby Declares the "Sanguine Isle Sovereignty" Legislation to be dissolved. Individuals have 48 hours to return to their home State(s). Once that time period has elapsed, travel will be restricted during international negotiations. Any San Andreas Citizen who violates these travel restrictions after the 48 hour period has elapsed will be considered an Enemy of the State, and subject to Treason charges which carry a 30-year sentence. Enemies of the State are not afforded Due Process.

Yeager's 311 to the police
Aug 23, 2023

On August 23, 2023, Sanguine Isle and San Andreas failed to renegotiate a new treaty because Yeager refused to grant Commissioner Axel and Director Knight permission to search the Isle for weapons manufacturing--instead saying he would only be willing to work with Shark Ranger Captain Edward "Moosebeard" Thatch. With war now imminent, Senator Sean Davis directed the enactment of new Sedition, Sanguine, & You legislation on August 24, 2023, to hold individuals fighting for Sanguine Isle (against Los Santos) for up to 3 years while the war is still active.

Los Santos forces subsequently begun a full blockade of the island, with the nearby aircraft carrier serving as a forward operating base. Airspace south of Los Santos was occasionally closed. Boat, air, and submarine patrols were launched. All ports and air terminals were monitored, and espionage operations were launched with PD using radio scanners, hidden cameras, infiltrators, and aerial reconnaissance.

Prior to the invasion of Sanguine Isle, the Sanguinians were allied and supported by members from Gulag Gang, HOA, Bondi Boys MC, and Chang Gang. In particular, 4Head, Pigeon, TJ Walker, and ex-Sheriff Kyle Pred played key roles in supporting Yeager. Mr. Kebun smuggled Jesse Reed to the island to support BBMC and their defense. The BBMC hired the Clowncil and the Bang Boys Syndicate to cause havoc back in Los Santos to divide PD attention during the invasion.
On August 25, 2023, a PD jet flown by Beric Johnson was shot down over Sanguine by 4Head with a homing launcher.
Invasion of Sanguine[]

The Sanguine Isle Army, hours before invasion
Aug 28, 2023

On August 28, 2023, Commissioner Axel Justice, Undersheriff & Commander Connor Stubble, Director Brian Knight, and Senator Sean Davis led the Los Santos PD army's invasion of Sanguine Isle. Per a phone agreement with Commandant Yeager Demonblood, Nicholas Simone had the Russians dogfight with the PD jets in exchange for the Sanguinians not shooting at EMS. The Russians also deployed a Kosatka guided missile submarine during the battle, which ultimately proved inconsequential. Desperate for a mobility scooter, recently fired Ranger Corporal Conan Clarkson defected and joined the Sanguinians.
Supported by close air support, APCs, and a TM-02 Khanjali tank, Los Santos forces invaded from the north, capturing the airfield and its hangars, along with multiple surrounding hills and tree lines. The Sanguinians opted to not directly defend Section 1 due to a lack of cover and instead held the checkpoint in the middle of the island as a choke point. They also had over a dozen bombs planted across the island that turned out to be duds and never detonated. War broke out all over the Isle, with both sides suffering massive casualties as long distance sniper duels, ambushes, AA suppression, and clearing operations continued. First shots were fired by BBMC member Rue Minmi when two members of the PD army, Edward "Moose beard" Thatch and Brick James failed to successfully breach the shoreline and were made prisoners of war.
The EMS combat medics evacuated the wounded to a Los Santos Medical Group triage station on the Leviathan boat midway between the Sanguine Isle and Los Santos. But later on at the behest of Senator Sean Davis, doctors like Board of Director Dr. Charlie Jannetty, Dr. Frederick Frasier, Dr. Philippa Canter, Dr. Tommy Tribble, and Dr. Jeffy Coldiron took up arms and joined the war.
The Choke Point[]

Los Santos invasion forces, divided by squad
PD eventually reached the choke point, directly defended by The Saints and Mayhem MC and supported by BBMC and HOA elements, and the advance largely stalled as members of both sides began being picked off and casualties escalated. A PD squad attempted to flank the checkpoint, but was pinned down on an island by sniper fire from the Saints and HOA. The Saints and Mayhem suffered heavy casualties holding the front line at the checkpoint as supporting marksmen and RPG teams from BBMC and HOA offered support.

PD army pushing the villa
To soften defenses on the other side of the choke point, PD called in strafing runs but this resulted in all air support being wiped out by the heavy ground fire and man-portable homing missile launchers by the Sanguinians. With no more air support, the PD's APC's got taken out one by one at the choke point, and many of the more skilled leaders wounded in action. Tank commander Brittany Angel took charge and breached the check point with overwhelming suppressing fire, allowing PD to finally advance further down the island. Angel eventually went down to a hidden door explosion while trying to secure Yeager's office. The front line defenders, including remaining BBMC and HOA members, retreated all the way back to the villa for a final holdout, rejoining with Gulag Gang and other defenders.
The Final Stand[]
In the Sanguinians' final stand, Kyle Pred, Conan Clarkson, 4Head, Jack Cortair, Appie Turk, Zuck Cuc, Barry Benson, TJ Walker, Finley Milton, Lil Cap, Gheto Kaiba and Josephine Jessen held out inside of an underground bunker with downed Commandant Yeager, downed combatants from both sides, and war correspondent Ursula Leichenberg. Hungry and suffering from the drone noise, they kept shooting down any PD soldiers trying to detcord the locked entry gate.

Senator Davis and EMS Mars witnessing Director Knight pull a gun on Sgt. Byson after he overheard their plan to arm her with C4
Aug 28, 2023
During the siege of the villa, Sgt. Aaron Byson overheard and protested a plan between Director Knight and Senator Davis to send an EMS volunteer (combat medic Veronica Mars who was dating Nicholas Simone) into the bunker to secretly plant a C4 bomb there on the pretense of treating wounded combatants. As Veronica approached the locked gate with her hands up, Conan proactively shot her down through the gate. Then after he desperately dragged her inside looking for food, the Sanguinians were dismayed to find the C4 on her. With the PD army down to their last few soldiers (and Senator Davis giving up on Veronica as a casualty of war and using her as a martyr to inflame the remaining medics), time ticked down on a bomb they had planted by the gate. Rather than starve to death, the Sanguinians surged out of the bunker with RPGs in an unsuccessful final push. The fighting concluded with Senator Davis RPG'ing Conan, and Commissioner Axel RPG'ing the final two Sanguinians, TJ and Finn (and Director Knight as collateral damage). The explosion from the PD bomb missed Ursula when she went to check on Veronica, and Ursula surrendered to the PD army as they breached the bunker (but refused to surrender the digital war footage she uploaded). Senator Davis threatened Ursula with treason for filming the war without permission, later admitting that he had thought about killing this "loose end".
Aftermath of the Sanguine Isle Invasion[]
The Sanguinians had downed a lot of the PD army with mostly RPGs, AKs, and thermal goggles, and the PD army's military tank shelling had proved devastatingly effective. Chief Justice Judgingle Dan, Mayhem member Laine Davis, Deputy Bobby Boolderman, Officer Kevin Keyte, and Solo Cadet Lucy Snowe were all killed in action during the invasion. Over 30 police officers were ICU'd during the battle.
Over 50 Sanguine Isle combatants were sentenced to 30 years in prison for treason, with Commandant Yeager Demonblood facing the death penalty. Director Brian Knight blew up Yeager's weapons manufacturing bench with a homemade bomb, and Sanguine Isle was placed under indefinite quarantine citing radioactivity.
“
Sanguine Island is off limits. We have reason to believe that the island is contaminated with RADIOACTIVE material. Any contact with the island may cause radiation poisoning and death. If you have travelled to the island in the past 7 days, please visit your local hospital. The situation is actively being investigated and monitored.
— State Announcement
Senator Sean Davis, Mayor Andi Jones, and Chief Justice Alan Crane agreed to form panels of the top DoJ high command to adjudicate the seizure of the treasonists' businesses, properties, and assets. However, both Crane and Andi began souring on the notion of seizing businesses--instead favoring a path of healing and damage control rather than "spite".
Retaliation against Combat Medics and the Resignation of Nick Simone[]

War propaganda for uniting combat medics in the Sanguine Isle invasion
The San Andreas military leaders' hard-fought victory over Yeager's army and his bomb-making bench became overshadowed by the controversial war tactics they had employed. In addition to questions about whether the war was even justified, both sides were accused of war crimes against the Los Santos combat medics. Despite their classification as non-combatants, they were still targeted by some of the Sanguine soldiers. Chief of EMS Kiki Pendragon protested that Senator Davis had deceived the combat medics and pressured them to fight with the PD army. Also, Deputy Walter Christmas false-flagged as an EMS with an RPG. Consequently, based upon eyewitness sightings of armed combat medics actively helping the PD soldiers push (against their duty to medical neutrality), Sanguine sympathizers began to attack and threaten the lives of medics after the war. Nicholas Simone attempted to stop the violence by speaking with gang leaders. But after a heated fistfight over the issue with fellow board member Dr. Charlie Jannetty on September 1, 2023, Nick decided that the doctors deserved to be hunted. Board member Sabith "Bunny" Cohen asserted their duty to protect all doctors and told Nick that if that's how he genuinely felt, he should step down as a board member. Nick quit the LSMG Board of Directors as a result.
Investigation of the Veronica Mars C4 Incident[]

EMS Veronica Mars suffering PTSD over the memorized numbers she had to input on the C4 bomb to end the war
The EMS Veronica Mars C4 bomb incident shocked the consciences of even hardened cynics in Los Santos, leading to escalating outrage, a Twatter campaign, and growing calls for the firing of Director Knight from the UPD. Already resigned to the immunity of Senator Davis from prosecution, Mayor Andi Jones mostly investigated Director Knight's conduct and his death threat to Sgt. Byson. Andi's crusade to hold the police accountable hinged on Veronica, the final and most important eyewitness. Outraged that Veronica's boyfriend Nicholas Simone (the man who was a "brother" to Andi) wanted to shield a traumatized Veronica from Andi because she was now "the State", Andi permanently cut ties with him. Veronica stated that she only trusted Sgt. Aaron Byson, and agreed to talk to him. She recounted how Senator Davis and Director Knight had secretly pressured her to end the war, how they instructed her to plant the C4 and run, how Knight had threatened to kill Byson if he said anything and pulled a gun out, how the locked entry gate made her realize that they had sent her on a one-way mission, and how one of the starving Sanguinians almost cannibalized her. Shocked that Veronica still had the C4 bomb on her after she had been discharged from the ICU, Sgt. Byson took the C4 into evidence. Assistant Chief of Police Richard Dark-Rhodes suspended Director Knight pending investigation and a high command review panel. Brian appointed Senator Davis as the acting Director of the Major Crimes Unit, prompting MCU Detective Supervisor Jeffrey Bundy to go on an indefinite leave of absence.
Dissent against Senator Sean Davis and the Resignation of Domenic Toretti[]

“
The Senate is the final say and has unlimited power.
— Government Legislation for The Authority of The Senate.
In anticipation of the looming PR fallout against the government, Senator Sean Davis informed Mayor Andi Jones and Chief Justice Alan Crane that he was considering stepping down and helping to abolish the Los Santos Senate. However, Senator Davis decided to double down and flex his political immunity. From the Bolingbroke Penitentiary rooftop, he shot down prison inmate Kyle Pred with complete impunity (in front of Commissioner Axel Justice, who then did something similar) for openly taunting him. Also in a heated argument there with Deputy Commissioner Domenic Toretti, Senator Davis stated that Director Knight had only followed his direct orders, that a remote bomb should have been strapped to Veronica Mars instead, and that she and false-flagging EMS Walter Christmas should receive medals. Morally outraged, Toretti dropped his PD badge on the ground and resigned as Deputy Commissioner.
At a contentious UPD high command meeting on September 5, 2023, Commissioner Axel Justice, BCSO Sheriff Owen Svensen, LSPD Chief of Police Elizabeth "Libby" Reed, LSPD Assistant Chief of Police Richard Dark-Rhodes, SASPR Game Warden Tessa Lamb, and HVTU Lead Connor Stubble discussed whether to charge Mr. K with treason without any due process (because he twatted treasonist Carmine Costello's selfie that had leaked the PD army's equipment and uniforms on the aircraft carrier). Sheriff Owen Svensen defended Senator Davis' authority from Asst. Chief Dark's characterization of Senator Davis as a dictator (Owen also floated that some of the judges going public were sounding seditious). Chief of Police Libby initially took Sheriff Owen up on his suggestion that a police officer should quit if they didn't like respecting the Senator's authority (but later changed her mind). The high command then discussed whether Senator Davis was losing his sanity, and dissected The Authority of The Senate legislation to determine whether they could arrest him for the attempted murder of inmate Pred. With Senator Davis expected to appear at a medals ceremony for war heroes, Commissioner Axel agreed that Davis should be given a chance to surrender himself to the police. Commissioner Axel also agreed to Asst. Chief Dark's suggestion for an HC panel to review Axel's conduct as well, for shooting a prisoner from that same Bolingbroke rooftop (claiming that the shoes they threw at him could have knocked him off the ledge), and for Axel and Director Brian discussing killing undercover cop Johnny Divine to stop Sanguine Isle leaks. To HC's disbelief, Commissioner Axel voluntarily suspended himself until the completion of their investigation. Afterward, Asst. Chief Dark interviewed EMS Veronica Mars (with Nicholas Simone making sure they weren't followed), and noted a new war detail that Commissioner Axel had picked her up and called her a hero when she originally volunteered for Director Knight's EMS task. Dark also mused about when exactly Veronica had decided in her mind that the C4 bombing mission was wrong.
The Televised Execution of Axel Justice[]

On September 7, 2023 during an uprising by "Little Sanguine" inside of Bolingbroke Penitentiary, Commissioner Axel Justice voluntarily surrendered himself to the prison rioters in exchange for the downed officers inside of the prison. Subsequently in a live-streamed execution, Yeager Demonblood and TJ Walker shot Axel Justice dead. Facing the death penalty, Yeager and TJ faced an additional fine of 10 million dollars. Ony Pushkin faced the death penalty and a five million dollar fine or failing that, deportation back to Russia. For shooting Axel's downed body, Marty Banks also faced the death penalty and a five million dollar fine. Lifers Edward Baker and Jeb Webber faced the death penalty and a 2.5 million dollar fine. Kyle Pred, Jack Cortair, 4Head, DHead, Osvaldo Pingafria, Gheto Kaiba, Luk Zwiebel, Luis Fernandez, James O'Neil, Kringle Dan, Saint Clair, and Alexander Dmitri faced life in prison and a five million dollar fine. Dingle Fan faced life in prison and a 2.5 million dollar fine. For participating in a prison riot that led to five deaths, Larry Knox, Peter Johnsen, Jordan Elmore, Freddy Fastfingers, Flops Rainman, Benny Razer, DJ Cooper, Mack Lando, Jeff MacDonald, Simon Riley, and Diego Jaminez faced an additional 15 year sentence, 30 years parole, and a one million dollar fine. Irwin Dundee and Kylian Hazan faced 15 years in prison, 30 years parole, and a one million dollar fine.
The Resignation of Brian Knight[]

Suspended MCU Director Brian Knight appeared before the PD high command panel on September 9, 2023 that had convened to decide his fate, but resigned from the Unified Police Department/3.0 before they could finish deliberating. The HC panel also fired Deputy Walter Christmas from the UPD for his rogue actions during the Sanguine invasion. MCU Detective Supervisor Luka Kovacic succeeded Knight as the Director of the MCU.
After 30 years in prison, nearly all of the Sanguine prisoners were released. TJ Walker and Marty Banks made special plea deals to get parole. Rather than the death penalty, Chief Judge Alan Crane sentenced Yeager to 90 additional years in prison for treason, 30 additional years in prison (and 30 years of parole) for the murder of Axel Justice, a three million dollar fine, and seizure of his military equipment from the war.
The Dream of Edgar Del Castillo[]
After Edgar Del Castillo won "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" along with the five million dollar prize, he and his cousin Cesar Delgado crusaded to acquire the irradiated Sanguine Isle. Edgar conspired with TJ Walker, Delver Lee, and Yeager Demonblood on the project. Former Mayor Sabith "Bunny" Cohen and Nexus Pharmaceuticals Medical Professional Dahlia Fey helped Edgar write a proposal to the state to decontaminate the radiation, including irradiated mushrooms that were found. However, Mayor Maximillian Angel denied their business proposal for an "environmental protection agency" (Fellowship Enterprises), out of distrust for Edgar, his lack of qualifications, and Chief Justice Alan Crane's decree that Sanguine Isle was off-limits. On November 7, 2023, Bunny and Edgar finally convinced Game Warden Tessa Lamb and Ranger Sgt. Jeffrey Bundy to approve Fellowship Enterprises (without the Sanguine Isle part) on behalf of the Rangers--but then afterward on the same day, Solomon Walker set up Edgar for ex-police officers TJ Walker and Johnny Divine to kidnap him to the aircraft carrier and give him one last look at the Sanguine Isle. Displeased with Edgar for calling out the "The Faceless" and for publicizing in an LSBN article that he got a bomb from Yeager, TJ and Divine gunned Edgar down and choppered away.
Edgar survived and sought revenge, but Vice Prime Minister Collin McKinley warned him that the Bondi Boys MC would project their High Command member TJ and alerted the BBMC. When Edgar and his cousin Cesar executed HOA hangaround Marek McFly at the Davis Quartz quarry under the belief that he had set up Dr. Rosabel Briar (Edgar's fiancé) to get shot, HOA member Wade Wilson shot Cesar to death in front of Edgar after stating the words, "TJ sends his regards." On December 5, 2023, Rosabel sought out the Hotel to hire an assassin to kill Wade for murdering her adoptive father Jeffy Coldiron. Mistakenly thinking she had been digging into the Hotel for her fiancé Edgar, BBMC prospect Shang Liu executed her for TJ. Rosabel's heart went to Bunny for a life-saving heart transplant operation. Edgar stabbed and shot TJ's ally Pigeon in retaliation. On December 9, 2023, BBMC Road Captain Irish shot Edgar's ally Chopper dead for taunting him.
On December 10, 2023 at Vespucci Beach, Edgar and the Brouge Street Kingz shot down the BBMC and finally dispatched of Shang Liu to avenge his murder of Rosabel. Inside of the Seaside Tower with Bunny, Edgar invited Dahlia Fey there. Tired of running and hiding, Edgar shrugged off Bunny's warning that a hunting party (overheard at the hospital by her husband Sexton Cohen) were coming to kill the both of them. When Bunny said she wouldn't leave without Edgar, he phoned Sexton to pick them both up but tricked her into going down the elevator alone--locking the door behind her. Bunny and Sexton left the city. The BBMC hotdropped onto Seaside Tower and kidnapped Edgar to a snowy mountainside--where he finally met the leader of the BBMC, Prime Minister Barry Benson. Edgar exchanged final words with Barry, Dahlia Fey, and Michael Simone. Barry let Edgar smoke one last cigarette. Barry, Irish, and BBMC prospect Rein Synnefo choppered Edgar to the Sanguine Isle that he had long dreamt of owning the island--and dropped him onto the snow covered villa...leaving him for dead.
The Collapse of Los Santos[]
The devastation of the Sanguine Isle war plunged Los Santos into chaos. The former government, crippled by overspending and an inability to repay loans, crumbled, leaving its citizen in disarray. Forced to evacuate due to the lack of support from other nations, the once vibrant city became a ghost town, a failed state.
“
To the esteemed citizens of our beloved State of San Andreas: There is no shying away from the crises that befell our previous government and society. The handling of the Sanguine Conflict, much like the proverbial straw on the camel's back, continued the cascading erosion of trust in our Government that ultimately lead to a full collapse. The tragedies that have befallen our state in our recent past are devastating realities, ones that we must remember and carry with us as we make our way forward, should we intend on learning from our predecessors to create a better world for ourselves. One of the greatest tragedies is that we, as a society, lost faith in the very social contract at the core of our ideals to begin with.
