General Description[]
Sally Avvocata is a Deputy for the Paleto Bay Sheriff's Office, Badge #395.
He used to be a gangster for the Balbani Crime Family before he received an expungement to pursue a career in law enforcement.
Background Information[]
Sally was born in New York in 1975. At the end of the Vietnam War. His father, who had fought in the war, sadly perished not too long after. The horrors he had seen there sadly drove him mad. Sally was born into a family of 8, Him being the youngest. His growing up was a hard and tiresome one. His mother moving on from lover to lover, really did something to him, never really having a father figure. Up until he was around the age of 16 - 17, that all changed. When he was around that age, he got introduced to some of them, let us say, higher standing Italians that ran New York City, looking for new blood, they came to Sally and his age-mates. Soon Sally found out though, that these guys weren't all the good stuff, though, he didn't care, as Sally had grown fond of stealing small things here and there anyway. Mostly candy bars and the likes, which already gave Sally a bit of a bigger figure, he wasn't fat or anything, but he had the stature slightly larger than some of his age-mates.
During his time getting to learn the gangsters of New York, Sally met a father-like figure, finally. Someone who was going to take him under his wing teach him things, albeit... Not the things you'd normally be taught, he wasn't taught how to fish or even work hard for your money in that kind of way. He was taught how to get someone, head to toe, hold a gun properly, aim out of the side of a car when driving at high speeds to hit a target. And, as an influential teen who had never had a father, Sally was quickly taken off of his feet by this life. He quickly climbed the ladders under the wing of his now adoptive like father. The leader of a small gang under one of the Five Families. He never spoke his name, the only name he ever got to call him was either "padre", which is Father in Italian, or, Mister Agostinelli, but still, he was family.
As Sally started to rise, he got more ruthless, and people could tell. During a small bar dispute, on a fine Wednesday evening, in July, I believe, Sally got made fun of for his a bit bigger than large stature by now. Not fat, but, big... He grabbed the guy who talked to him like that by the throat, smashing his face into the counter banister a few times as a "sedative" he said before making three deep cuts across the man's face, telling him. "Now think again before talkin' shit 'bout someone's appearance again." Before paying for his drink, as if everything were normal, and walking off. People were so scared of him that nobody snitched on Sally. Cause nobody wanted to end up in the hospital with their nose nearly cut clean off. Sadly though, Mister Agostinelli, Sally's boss and adoptive like father, was ill. He pleaded with Sally to get his temper down, and perhaps eat a healthy pasta dish for once. And for a time, Sally listened, keeping his temper down for a long time, though when the time came of his Padre's death, Sally lost it all. He spiraled into a long, deep fall of Sugar, pasta, booze, murder... And not before too long, he was stripped of all of his ranks within the Mafia, back down to where he was when he joined, although ten times as fat, Sally was alone again. Every single assignment the Mafia gave him to try and prove himself again, Sally completed half-assedly or didn't even do it. They had -enough-. After all of those years, they put into Sally, and this is how he repaid them? No, enough was enough. They were going to put a bullet into his brain.
Luckily enough, Sally had one person still looking out for him, a friend of mister Agostinelli, who had sworn to protect Sally. He made a deal with the Mafia, send Sally somewhere else, promise him his own small gang, a fresh start. The place they picked was Los Santos, as soon as they could, they sent him a one-way ticket. And his one friend left told him. "Take the ticket, or else." Sally understood the message. He went home and packed his things. But as he got home, he noticed that someone had been in his house. Sally quickly walked over to a nearby cabinet where he had his Padre's gutting knife stored, holding it tightly as he would walk around the house, seeing if someone was there, but to no avail. It seemed as if the Mafia tried to go back on their word, and send someone after Sally after all, but they were too early, so they left him with nothing, he was robbed blind instead. And all that Sally had left was a small silver gutting knife and his ticket to Los Santos. So he left. Never to return to New York.
