The State Police Joint Task Force (SPJTF) was a detective unit made primarily to solve cases more quickly and achieve raids faster than the Criminal Investigation Division had.
Description[]
The SPJTF was run by Troopers from the San Andreas State Police. This unit was focused on tasks rather than cases, with the general idea being to choose the best people available to accomplish a given task, support them in their efforts to accomplish that task, and then finally to return them to standard patrol once that task had been accomplished.
The SPJTF was under intense scrutiny and frequent criticism from the moment it was introduced, with that criticism including:
- Disproval due to the lack of communication from the unit, as few people outside of the unit knew what the active tasks even were.
- Mockery over blatant mistakes made by SPJTF members, most notably the mistakes made by Matthew Espinoz.
- Outside law enforcement members openly questioning the purpose of the unit.
- Ridicule from former CID members, who believed that the SPJTF was needlessly retreading in the steps of CID itself.
As criticism of the unit spread and increased in frequency, the officers assigned to the unit became demotivated, with their enthusiasm to accomplish their assigned task fading. With the general consensus of the unit across law enforcement being negative, the unit also struggled to garner interest as it tried to introduce new tasks. This led to the unit becoming inactive, eventually leading to a re-evaluation of the unit by high command. The result of that re-evaluation was the introduction of the Joint Task Force, with the SPJTF being disbanded in order to make way for it.

Street Racing and Finding Those Involved With It[]
Run by Trooper Jackie Snow, this task was to find those involved in street racing and push racing-related charges on those individuals.
The assigned officers had identified many people involved in street racing from Jordan Walker to Erin Cox to Mari Jones. This task was put on pause due to unfortunate events affecting the city at large. Investigations into street racing continued within the Joint Task Force.
The Families[]
Run by Officer Kyle Pred and Sergeant Brittany Angel, this task was to find the stash houses of The Families, as well as establish the connections of the group.

Completed Tasks (As of 11/21/19)[]
Few tasks were truly completed due to the nature of the tasks and cases, but these tasks were wrapped up in their entirety.
The Misfits[]
This case was opened in mid-October 2019 and closed on November 21st, 2019.
The Misfits were under investigation primarily for two reasons:
- Someone stole a weapon owned by Trooper Tony Andrews and planted it on Outto-Tune Tyrone.
- Outto-Tune Tyrone confessed to taking the weapon, as well as committing other crimes, in front of Trooper Kael Soze.
The goal of this task was to raid The Misfits and find the weapon. The Misfits ended up being raided 3 times and the weapon was not found, having been taken by Mike Wadum of the Vagos. This task has been completed but the group was still being monitored. The lead investigative task officer for this case was Brittany Angel.
