History
Nino Chavez offered Sparky Kane and Johnny Paps to be the first legal music label, after a series of setbacks with Wu Chang's owner, Mr. K. Despite their talent, previous efforts had faltered, but Nino's belief in their artistry led him to create a space where they could thrive. This pivotal move not only gave them a platform to showcase their music but also revitalised the local scene, paving the way for future artists to emerge in the vibrant landscape of Los Santos.
Label Events
Los Santos Idol
On November 12th, 2024, Revival Records held their first official event, a Los Santos Idol, at Tequi-la-la, hosted by the labels co-owner Johnny Paps. Tequi-la-la's second floor booth held the Judges, consisting of Sparky Kane, Gigi Costello, Larry Knox, and Luke Atar, with surprise guest judge, Head of Security's Max Brown. The event showcased a variety of talent, the opening act was Max Dumont, performing Fools Gold and unreleased track "Guap". Following his performance, Max was scored by the judges, with Gigi and Larry voting 'No' and Sparky praising his music and voting 'yes', the rest of the performances followed the same format. At the final Artist, Aries King, her first track went relatively well, however, her second track received more criticism, with Larry and Luke voting 'no' Gigi voting 'maybe' at first, before going to 'yes', and Sparky, the deciding factor, asking for another song. With the third song being better, although Aries would've passed, surprise judge Max Brown ultimately decided against everyone and voted 'no' on the basis of his feeling, denying Aries a position in Revival Records.
Other notable moments during the Los Santos Idol included Rayne Farley receiving the first Golden Buzzer, pressed by Sparky, Junior Huntley as 'The Third Gallagher' performing hit song Wonderwall, Guiseppe Font being questioned by Luke on the cat line in his first performed song, and Sparky Kane coming down to perform newly released track Canine (Summer 19). For their first event, the LS Idol performed well, with city mayor Nino Chavez in attendance.
