Reggie Mitts is a character role-played by Terraceous.
Background Information[]
Child Life[]
Early in life Reggie became acutely aware of the fact that his family wasn't the ideal that many would expect to encounter in his rural hometown, they looked like most other families in that there was a child along with parents in the household, but there was little to no love present. His father was a severe alcoholic, and his mom was so overworked supporting them that she really lacked the time to be around. For many his early years the only person he would generally see is his father, and it wasn't exactly the pleasant experience that one would hope for between father and son. Instead of spending time with him, doing things such as playing catch, his father was often planted firmly in their living room with a bottle of booze in one hand, and a TV remote in the other generally with various shows on that were way past their prime. His father seemed to think he was still living in what he believed to be the glory days when he was a marine, needlessly aggressive when given the opportunity because he thought that he was still the tough man in charge of everything, rather than one riddled with addiction and mental health concerns. Reggie would without fail see his exhausted mother return home each night, and proceed to slave away over their dinner with no help, only getting even an offer of assistance from her son, his father only lashing out with words of disapproval regarding any little thing that seemed to inconvenience the man. A child should never have to hear the screaming of their parents fighting throughout the night, but it was at this point the background noise of life, even worse so the physical abuse that would periodically occur. With how things were, if Reggie wasn't in school then he was out of the house trying to do something that could occupy his time, and put a shield between home and himself. Around the age of ten he actually found a hobby which brought him joy, mostly because of how much time he could expend by partaking in it, a passion for gardening that caused small patches of their property to slowly start becoming riddled with plants of various types, his favorite being things that were edible as he knew how tight money was for them. He was so proud of such that he would even share them with their neighbor Randolph at times, a man whom lived next to them whom also hardly had much to his name, a man that would actually praise him for his labors like he would wish for from his father.
Teen Life[]
Moving on into his teenage years Reggie would maintain that passion for agriculture, while developing even more pass-times which he could see as his places of belonging. At this point their yard consisted almost entirely of plants that he had chosen to cultivate, the fridge in their house full of the various vegetables and fruit that he could manage to grow, easing the burden in some ways on his mother though not enough to exchange his efforts for her exhaustion completely. His father was in, and out of jail numerous times at this point, his behavior becoming increasingly more violent each time he returned, only serving as a brief period of freedom from the oppressive force in their home. Reggie would begin picking up boxing as one of those other hobbies he has a passion for, something his school at the time would luckily offer as one of their sports clubs, mostly because it offered a potential form of protection if ever a scenario came to fruition that it would be necessary, which it would one day at the age of sixteen. His father was freshly home from one of his many stays in the local prison system, a fury in his voice as he stormed into the house, enraged that this time he had been put in prison because of his mother. At the time Reggie was outside tending to his plants, but could rather audibly hear the bangs of conflict in the house, becoming exceedingly alert upon hearing the shrill scream that came from his mother's lips leading to his swift movement inside. His eyes widened, a sense of dread washing over the boy as he saw his mother in an almost lifeless state, his father overtop her looking satisfied with his work. Rage would soon cloud Reggie's thoughts as he responded to the situation at hand, returning every last hit his mother had received to the man many times over, the man whom acted as if he was invincible all this time crumpling against the blows, only coming back to his senses when his father seemed to be in even worse a state than his mom. Tears would flow down the boys cheeks as he wailed from the pain, his call to dispatch was a struggle to understand through the sobbing, but they would eventually send the emergency services required to help. It was hardly over though, his mother now in the hospital in a critical state, father as well though as a prisoner of the state once again. Reggie was there with his mother the entire time, never once leaving her side unless required as the doctors did everything in their power to save her, sadly none of these efforts managing to fix the issue at hand completely causing the woman to quietly pass from her state hours later. A boy left there without either parent, full of grief that he couldn't stop it sooner, only able to swear an oath to himself that he would never allow this to happen again to someone he cared for. His only means of survival at this time being the helpful hand of that same neighbor whom he had given produce to throughout the years. Life from this point forward was still a struggle, but now one in which he no longer had parents present for.
Adult Life[]
Reggie's early adult life was no walk in the park, with no support from his family he would do various odd jobs trying to make his way in the world, his hobbies falling to the wayside as he had no time to fully dedicate himself to them anymore only able to spare time for work, and attempts at motorcycle repairs as it was his only mode of transit. It was the only thing Randolph could offer him as he set out to find his place in the world. With what little money he could spare, the first thing he would do with his new life is bring closure to the old by changing his last name to his now deceased mother's previous Mitts, an attempt to forever severe his connection to the man that plucked the life away from his mother. The day by day was a struggle, but this was nothing new to him, it was exactly what they had gone through the entire time he was growing up which gave him some manner of knowing how to cope. The opportunities in his rural community were sparse, jobs so few and far between that he knew a more fulfilled life would never become attainable, but one he didn't know a way to escape from for the time being. As the years passed it was clear that nothing was getting better, something had to be done, or he'd continue wasting away where he was without doing anything he could be proud of in life. Over the next few months Reggie would save what little amounts of money he could by skimming away at his expenses, everything he owned neatly placed in a bag ready for what was to come next. He would spend a few days looking for someone to buy his motorcycle for whatever seemed reasonable, the one gift he had ever received in life, and pool those funds together with what he had saved to buy a ticket to a potentially new prosperous life. He was venturing off into the unknown, taking a chance on a change of scenery, his ticket labeled one way to Los Santos. He was leaving behind his life of solitude and misfortune, what awaited him in the city he was unsure of, but the one thing he knew was that no matter what it was, he would find a way to make it work.
Life in Los Santos Thus Far[]
Things have been difficult for him in the city, he originally moved here with every intention to be a well behaved member of society that just wanted to find new opportunity out of the deadend town he came from. His first job came about rather quickly, working for a business known as In & Out. It was a relatively easy position to gain, but the owner never bothered to train him instead opting to off-load the responsibility onto another random market employee, despite this he worked rather tirelessly for the company. After a while though it became apparent to him that the owner of the business really didn't seem to actually care much for it, and was just using it as a means to siphon money from the individuals working for her. He's still currently employed, but has not sold a single thing for them since coming to this realization.
Over a rather short span of time it started becoming rather apparent that he wouldn't be able to afford much of anything in this city, or be able to manage any of his passions by being a well-behaved member of society which led into the start of him doing rather petty crime at times. He has now gone on a multitude of poaching ventures at this point, hunting or fishing it didn't really matter, anything to make it possible for him to advance his own interests which were arguably rather simple. He wanted a motorcycle, to work on it, and go fast. As time passed he would finally buy his first bike, the Shitzu Hakuchou, and proceed to get into the racing scene with it where he met a number of like-minded individuals that just wanted to get better at driving along with testing their ability as it grew. As many things do, racing slowly began to lead into a life of boosting cars being his primary source of income as the price of GNE was soaring with it being the only means to upgrade vehicles in the city at the time. He was conflicted with the idea of killing, opting only to ever punch out the locals whom would come to defend their property, and was thrown into a fit of confused feelings as one of his boosting partners proceeded to start stabbing them over cars. It felt wild to him, killing people quite literally to just take property, and led to his enlightening conversation on Mount Chiliad that if you're in the criminal world then you can't just dip your toes. This has molded him over time into the person he is now rather emotionlessly killing the locals whom are in the way of something he needs, and has even now led to him willing shooting the non-local population in the heat of the moment.
There are now a number of people whom seem to want Reggie dead for this reason or another, most of which he's unaware of, or are even just spontaneous. The biggest one that he's aware of fully being Reggie Might, whom wants him dead for the crime of having similar names. The conflict hasn't developed much as he's done well to avoid his company, but has been in disguise as of late to make himself harder to find. He has tried communicating with Might a number of times, seeing what he could do to make this situation resolve itself, but there really didn't seem to be many options. It was basically do what I tell you to, or die each time they spoke. He has made some deals with various Vagos as of late in hopes that becoming at least minorly valuable to the group would lead to Might second guessing his decision to want to end his life as it would hurt them in some manner for his own self-satisfaction. The two main Vagos he has made contact with now being Bodhi and Speedy whom has spoken to him again about diving properly into the world of crime, and even offered to do a few jobs with him. There is one unknown individual whom has left a note on his door stating he is "A Dead Man", they've not made any effort to contact, or attack him at this point so he's essentially in the dark with this person. The last two both being vampires that picked him up one night at the clothing store up in Paleto one night while he was spending time with friends, both of which were actually people he knew whom didn't recognize him as he was in disguise at this point being Rick Locke and May Flowers. He fought for what he thought was his life in this ordeal, even trying to reason with the one he recognized being Rick, but it ended unfruitful with him being wounded before tossed off into the ocean.
These strained relationships have led Reggie to some rather conflicted feelings as of late. He at times antagonizes Might when he happens to see him in public opting to send text messages to the man, or even leaving notes with his name on the ground along with a small gift such as a joint or coffee though he is still incredibly cautious in regards to not getting snatched up again. He started to develop a better friendship with May over time after they explained that the situation that unfolded wasn't entirely of their own choice, and being the soft person he is was starting to forgive them, not without some amount of payback being given though. When they mentioned that his outfits reminded them of something Rick Locke wears while they were out treasure hunting, he proceeded to stab and shoot them multiple times before carrying their severely injured body back to the truck. He felt some amount of remorse for this, but also knew it made them feel better in some way to be punished for once for the things they had done. There was never any intention of letting them die though, so without delay he made his way up to Grandma's to get them patched up enough to stay alive. His friends constantly were on his case about this relationship being a terrible idea to continue pursuing, and he would continue in spite of those feelings until it rather abruptly came to an end when catching them hanging out with Rick Locke once again up in Paleto. He has since stalked Rick Locke for a period of time at Dean World before snatching him up to enact some amount of revenge along with seeking answers from the man. He was brought down into the crypt, and handcuffed as he questioned the man along with Layla Lockheart. As the conversation progressed Reggie would begin to feel some amount of sympathy for the man, and further confusion as things didn't seem to entirely line up with what May had told him. The whole ordeal was truly a struggle for him which seemed to end amicably, but it seemed Layla was not going to let him leave the crypt without some price being paid, reluctantly Reggie ordered her to stab the man before they left. He was sobbing as they departed, sending a rather caring message to the EMS anonymously asking that they take care of the man, and mentioning any particular complications that could arise while dealing with his injuries. Acting out in violence in the heat of a moment as a response to a situation wasn't difficult for him, but something like this that gave him to time to reflect on his actions brought a great deal of remorse over him. He feels for, and tries to understand the situation of others, even those that have hurt him making it rather difficult for him to handle at this time. Something that he has now been chastised for by Layla, she was originally understanding of his feelings, but has since seemed to treat him as a bit of a hypocrite making excuses as he has kidnapped people for multiple robberies at this point, despite saying he never has the intention of hurting these people treating them well only in need of their time.
Characteristics[]
He's a generally warm individual that would rather not cause any manner of discomfort for others, harm isn't exactly a desirable outcome for him in any manner. His personality can alternate at times between a rather timid nature, listening to demands without fuss, and being rather boisterous suddenly, maybe overly so at times. His desire to make sure other people are enjoying themselves before tending to his own needs has led him to be neutral in his behavior when it comes to people asking what he'd like to do. It's not like he doesn't have things that make him happy, but rather that he derives a lot of joy from what makes his friends happy so it makes him indecisive at times. If he's physically able then he'll drop quite literally anything he's doing at the time to go spend time with people, whether it's towing their busted up vehicle, or being dragged away to go fishing for the 5000th time.
He's incredibly protective of his loved ones, willing to even kill someone if it meant they stay safe, but is sadly all too forgiving of slights against himself leading to a number of people thinking they can just walk over him. He has an incredibly long fuse in regards to dealing with it, but with a long fuse comes a rather large bomb at the end, his reaction explosively strong even compared to other similar people though he's good about warning someone if they're nearing the end of it. At the end of the day, if the ones he cares about are happy and safe then he doesn't care too much what happens to himself, and just would like to be a beacon of joy to those around him. It really seems like most people can't avoid being cheered up by his company.

Relationships[]
Partner(s)[]
Charlotte Greene - Upon initial introduction the two of them had a pretty rocky relationship to say the least, it was a meeting brought up by a mutual of their's named Nora Koh. This initial meeting didn't end the greatest as Reggie had blown out the tires of her car, something promptly fixed with a tire repair kit, but a bit of a bump in their meeting. It was caused by something Nora had said, and he has always been rather protective of those he considers a friend. This relationship remained rocky for quite some time as it seemed to Reggie that Charlie was always bullying Nora in some manner which left a rather sour taste in his mouth, despite this Nora seemed to still have this back and forth with her on if they were friends or enemies for the day. After taking notice of this his sentiments began to change assuming this was just some weird way that the two of them bonded with one another, and decided to stop paying it as much mind. He was also quite certain that his very first prior in the city was obtained by a mistake on her part, but a misunderstanding that has since been cleared up that was. Their interactions began to wane around this time dispersing into obscurity as time went on until it was once again revitalized by a chance meeting with the friends she surrounded herself with. Reggie began spending a lot of time with this friend group, along with Charlie specifically at this time, calling her various pet names as it seemed to get a delightful reaction to surface from the woman when she was referred to with words such as: Princess, Pumpkin, Sweet Potato etc. He found himself becoming protective of her along with many others as this friendship was more heavily fostered between the group, and was suddenly involved in these explicit interactions that seemed to be going on with a number of them at the time. This more involved interaction continued a few times generally in groups until they began one day interacting more in a direct manner with one another, no buffers between them. He's really grown to cherish the woman, recognizing her to actually be quite protective, and caring in her mannerisms. It came as quite a shock when she mentioned that her scope of physical interactions had began to narrow down over time to only being involved with her partner Zeno and Reggie, something that felt surprisingly sweet in some way. Reggie never expected himself to find such intimacy in a more open relationship with someone, but as of December 3rd they have made their feelings for one another at least vaguely apparent, now the pursuit of a fulfilling relationship has begun between the two of them. One he'll hopefully be able to cherish into the coming future.
Romantic Interests[]
Friends[]
Harlow Mathews - She's Reggie's favorite doctor, and while he does not know her that well yet, she seems to be someone he can easily derive a lot of joy from. He often spends around a minute or so circling her because it brings him some amount of peace, and makes him feel rather happy for some reason that he's not really sure of. It's incredibly fun to tease her about how she never breaks the law in the slightest, and even more of a delight to keep poking about how she should live a little. Despite this, he doesn't actually want her to change even a little because the way she behaves is honestly refreshing in the city, it's certainly completely different from his usual interactions.
SunMoon Lee - She's was somewhere in the realm of a romantic interest, along with a friend of his that he cares for deeply. SunMoon was one of the first people he met, whom even helped him achieve his first job in the city, being where the connection began. Now he's not entirely sure how he feels, the time he spends with her is quite a joy, but it seems that she rarely has any time available even bailing on him periodically or being pulled away when they're doing something. His personality seems to mesh well with her's, in his eyes at the very least, but isn't sure she has the time for him, let alone herself. Right now they're at the very least hospital pals whom regularly make their way to the doctor together, and adrenaline junkies obsessed with going fast on a motorcycle, likely being the thing that sends them to the hospital. Despite all his uncertainty he has decided to finally ask her on a date in the process of being questioned about relationships, which before it even began ended in rejection as she cancelled the date before they even planned it. They're still great friends, but the spark of interest has since seemed to subside.
