He was hired by the Chief of Police, Bobby Smith, and was approved as a BCSO Deputy in training by Sheriff, Travis Tribble.
Background Information[]
Randy Wrangler was originally a police officer working for the Oklahoma City Police Department, where he specialized in undercover prostitution stings. He also mainly broke up ham fights while in Oklahoma City. He’s also a known turtlephile!
Johnny Divine and Wrangler work together often on investigations, and they have developed a good friendship in their short time of knowing one another.
Most recently, their great teamwork was able to bring in Sonya Summers on the charge of Drug Trafficking; leading to a massive raid lead by Wrangler, J. Divine, and assisted by Ass. Chief, Thomas Metzger.
Kyle Pred and Wrangler don't see each other often, due to conflicting schedules, but they get along well and enjoy riding together.
After riding together only one time, they quickly created a strong bond. At the hospital, while Randy was being treated, Bryce Miller fiddled with the IV, and inserted some White Claw in it. This resulted in him going to the Intensive Care Unit, after crashing his Taurus while being life-threateningly drunk. Toretti tried to push charges against Bryce for Terrorism, but the DA refused to, saying that "only if this happens again he might".
Pred and Wrangler sometimes patrol together, and it usually results in chaos.
LSPD Sergeant, Owen Svensen, is also from OKC, and has expressed his appreciation for Randy's openness in topics that may be perceived as "taboo" in Oklahoma.
The two often bounce ideas about investigations when the opportunity arises, and critique their thought processes.
On October 8th, 2020, Deputy R. Wrangler brought his frustrations with Dan Faily, and the seemingly lack of a punishment he had received in a prior incident, to Chief Bobby Smith. He stated that Faily's blatant corrupt actions, leading to a case involving his significant other being thrown out, deserved a far harsher punishment than a one day suspension. His frustrations over Faily led to Wrangler stating that, "if things don't change, he'd be leaving the Police Department".
When Wrangler began saying he would quit if nothing changed, Domenic Toretti spoke up; saying that Wrangler shouldn't leave because of the great investigations he had led/was currently leading in the PD. Following Toretti's comment trying to dissuade him against leaving, Wrangler asked how he'd feel if Faily left; "eh" was his response.
Sonya Summers - Drug Trafficking
Officer Divine took multiple pictures of Sonya Summers selling weed on the ESB cul-de-sac. When Divine believed that she had caught sight of him, Wrangler went in to arrest her.
Sonya ran away, and officers lost sight of her. Once she was found again, a brief shootout occurred, where Sergeant Clarence Williams was gunned down by Sonya, and she then fell off the Mega Mall. While incapacitated, she had a "headache", and Wrangler began to search for any drugs that Sonya may have dropped. In the first spot he checked, there were 340 Quarter ounces (5.3 lbs).
Wrangler announced it over the radio, bringing it to Assistant Chief Metzger's attention; causing him to come down from Sandy Shores and assist Divine and Wrangler. Deputy Randy and Officer Dan Faily quickly made their way to Mission Row to place the weed into evidence. Meanwhile, Divine gathered evidence in the bush where he had found her, as well as where the weed was found, with Sergeant Matt Rhodes as back up. After Divine wrote up a report of the events, including the evidence they had collected so far, they were able to get a raid warrant.
A Summary of What Was Found:
In her second home on Covenant; 1k Quarter Ounces of weed, guns, and drug paraphernalia.
In her Integrity apartment; 50+ IDs.
Her last car that was parked in the garage of Sean Tinker's home; 50+ broken guns.
