Randy Bantham is a character role-played by Anchoras.

General Information

Randy Bantham is an EMT for the Emergency Medical Services, Call-Sign E-49.

Early Childhood - College

Randy Bantham grew up in the countryside of New York, he had no siblings and his parents were great, but never around.

His father was an Officer of the law, and his mother was a Nurse. Typical relationship for the area he comes from.

Because of his parents always being busy, he has issues with feeling unaccepted. He hides them, but not always well. He just wants to be accepted by his friends and peers.

Bantham graduated high school, and while being a smart student, he purposely would downplay his abilities and intelligence. He never really excelled in any individual subject, he was just good at them collectively.

Bantham was always like this. Which is why he tried to downplay his abilities and self deprecate himself. Whatever he would try, or learn, he would grasp quickly and retain information well. He always seeked a new challenge, and new opportunities, but would find himself becoming decent at the challenge. This would garner animosity from his peers, friends, and others around him, which is why he would purposely attempt to misdirect his abilities and play dumb.

Randy, like most with underlying pain, would grow a twisted sense of humor. While not loved by everyone, he would never change his ways. Even if it meant isolation and losing everything. He makes inappropriate jokes, dark tailored jokes, and generally doesn’t take 95% of life seriously; a truly certified “Shitlord”. Do not let this fool you though, when it’s time to hunker down and get serious - Bantham excells and will lead any group without missing a beat.  At times, this disconnect from others can cause problems. One day, it will probably get him killed.

After High School Randy went to college. He attended South Harmon Institute of Technology (SHIT) where dabbled across several different majors, trying to find his way. He was interested in Criminal Justice, to take after his father and go into law enforcement. He wanted to potentially make a difference in his community. His philosophy on Police Work is policing to the community. He also enjoyed learning about the Human Body. While so fragile, it’s also incredible what can be endured. He probably gets that from his mother.

Randy left College after just 2 years. While doing well, he just never really liked the systems. Teaching to a test, instead of hands on experience. He enjoys being “thrown to the wolves”, and believes it’s a more effective teaching technique. That’s what he intended to do to himself.

“The Gap Years”

There is a 2 year period between College and Moving to Los Santos that not many know about Bantham. They know he was an Officer of the Law. But they are unsure of what he saw and did. He, himself, tends to keep most of it blocked out. Maybe it’ll come back to haunt him one day. But if there’s one thing Randy doesn’t hold back on, it’s covering his tracks.

Moving to Los Santos

Randy wanted a challenge, and while having no real family ties to keep him anywhere, he looked all over to find out where he would find home. He ended up choosing Los Santos. The high crime rate, the endless opportunities, and the eeriness of the happenings in the City really drew to him. He decided to make the move and never look back.

At first, Randy was a tow truck driver. Becoming reputable in the field and becoming a great driver in the process. If you can drive a Rig, you can drive a car.

Emergency Medical Services

He eventually sought a new challenge, where he joined the Los Santos Emergency Medical Services. Upon joining, he has found a sense of home, and was adopted by Archer Valentine. He now has an entire Family Bush of Relatives.

Randy is Flight Certified, and keeps a Copium tank in his Ambulance for an Off-Road unit one day.

His Flight Call-Sign is “Quiet-1”. He has a personal Ambulance which dons the license plate “ITSQUIET”.

While still unsure of his abilities, he continues on. While not everyone’s cup of tea, he does his job, and continues to be himself.

He has also found his girlfriend through the EMS department, his former FTO - Maeve O’Malley (P-6).

He has found his home, for now. But like always, it won’t be long before he yearns for a new challenge.
