Myka Monroe was an Intern for Los Santos Medical Group.
Backstory[]
Myka was born in a quiet little country town and was one of the middle children. Her older sisters Charlie and Taylor and her younger brother Brad all lived with their parents on a little farm type property. It wasn't much but they did have a lot of chickens and grew their own vegetables. As they were growing up, it was very obvious that their dad always wished that he had a son rather than daughters, he tried to encourage the girls to play sports and do more adventurous activities, and never allowed them to get stereotypical "girl" toys. When Brad was finally born the girls were finally allowed the freedom to do and receive the things they were actually interested in. Due to the way Myka was initially raised she held some resentment towards her parents, understandably towards her father but also to her mother because she didn't stand up for the girls. This affected Myka and her view on relationships going forward because all she knew was do as the man says. Myka met Jason when she was 17 and they stayed together for 5 years. It was a very toxic relationship but Myka was used to just following along with "what I say goes". It wasn't until Becca, Mykas friend, tried to tell her how wrong it was and help her get out and she realised how much better she deserved. Upon leaving the relationship though Jason was not happy, he tracked her down and threatened her with a knife, when she wouldn't give in he sliced across her neck.
After getting her life back on track, and recovering from her injuries, Myka moved away and started to focus on herself and her career. She signed up for a nursing course and started as an assistant in nursing for an aged care facility. Helping the elderly in their final years of life and being by their side as they passed away she became numb to death and losing people. Wanting to step away from death as she could feel herself becoming a shell of empty emotions but still wanting to work in the medical field, she heard about Los Santos looking at rebuilding after the collapse. She packed her bags, jumped on a plane, and decided to see if there was anything she could do to help in the medical field over there.
