Description

Murphy Braun is a Judge and a part of the Department of Justice. He is also a chain-holding member of Chang Gang, and was their favored legal representation during court cases and interrogations during his time as a lawyer.

He was a lawyer for several years, with some breaks; there was a moment in time when he resorted to a dependency on alcohol and was known as the "town's drunk" due to the pressure that being a lawyer gave him.

Now, as a judge, Murphy has had to wrestle with both a messy divorce from his ex-wife, Siobhan Fitzpatrick, as well as legal issues after Jean Paul planted a police-issued gun on him. Additionally, Murphy started dating April Fooze, a relationship that has been largely healthy but has created entirely new types of problems for him to deal with.

Besides his DOJ work, Murphy has been investing both funds and time in events for the city, such as concerts and filming reality TV shows. He also periodically does Gruppe 6 work with his friend Link Winters.

Personality

Murphy generally has a short-temper with everyone. The only recent exceptions has been with April, her sister January, and some of their friends.

April Fooze Murphy first met April while they were both chain-holders of Chang Gang, when April paid him for a retainer as lawyer during her legal troubles in the Joe Goldberg arc. Murphy later became interested in her, but after she left the city for an indefinite break, he ended up dating and marrying Siobhan instead. After her return to the city following the economic collapse, and his divorce, the pair reconnected and eventually started dating. Even though both Murphy and April can be considered toxic most of the time, they haven't had any serious conflicts between each other out of occasional petty jealousies. However, as their relationship has become more public, it has been subject to increasing interference from others, especially in regards to the $150,000 car that Murphy bought for April.
