Mimes are silent individuals that are the antagonists of the Clowns.
Description[]
Mimes are individuals scattered throughout Los Santos that usually do not speak. They are known to often be violent. They are considered to be the primary antagonists of clowns, and a major Clown/Mime war was fought during the period of the city's economic collapse.
Mimes generally wear stereotypical black and white stripes, although some choose to look like statues. The except are mime leaders like the Popovs, who also speak.
Backstory[]
The following is written from a mime point of view.
The Omega Mime []
A long time ago a world of laughter finally appeared, and Yuri Popov, the first recorded Clown in history (according to mimes) was born! Alas, the pressure to live a life of laughter, drove Popov into a twisted descent of madness. The squeaks, the horns, the pops of balloons; tired of the painted smile and the Clowns pantomime, Popov saw solace in being cloaked in silence; a mime in the moonlight.
Under the palette of the carnival lights, a voiceless clown saw a world turn grey and Popov committed to a life of Mime. Rallying all mimes together, he gave them a purpose, a common cause: Eradicate Clowns. He would pass his deep insight of Clown life on to his descendants, with the promise of them inheriting his title as “The Omega Mime” if they accomplished what other Mimes could not. He taught them everything it takes to be a Clown, the mind games, the antics, the “yuckery” etc. in the hopes that his kin would be able to continue his legacy and take down the clowns from within.
Many years and multiple wars against the Clowns passed and the rainbow shadow they cast began to haunt the Mime’s more and more. One by one, mime after mime, they’d attack the Clowns to little avail… The Clowns spirits continued to remain high, working together with laughter, all of it echoing in the invisible cage of the Mimes minds. But hope was not all lost; when Yuri became friends with Pete Richards, he decided to take on a silent performance himself in hopes of finally becoming “The Omega Mime” his grandfather hoped he would be. Yuri Popov, of the same name as his grandfather, infiltrated the Clowns slowly over the years through befriending them. His circus act, goofy demeanour and voice allowed him to twist the words of the Clowns against each other, to plant seeds of doubt and to do so completely unnoticed.
The Mimes silently sequestered information and prepared for a full on war, while constant Clown civil wars kept the circus of Clowns distracted. Yuri researched them amongst the chaos in an attempt to gain “Alpha Clown Blood”. Many Clowns had many different strong attributes, but he believed his choice came down to the three who seemed to be in control of all Clowns: Chatterbox, Kirk Jerkems (Janky) & Sooty Gamwich(BoomBoom). Unable to get close to Chatterbox and Janky alone, and with war brewing faster than expected, Yuri took advantage of BoomBoom’s friendship and trusting nature to lure her out and take her blood instead, while also infecting her with “mime-itis” and effectively taking her out of the war to come.
Eva Popov[]
Eva Popov originally came to the city to secretly help her brother in his quest to gain the “Alpha Clowns” blood, but saw the chaos he was causing to be effective enough to leave him to his mime-games. However once war was declared, she returned to claim her brother, only to eventually find her him weak and bleeding out after being interrogated by Clowns for his attack upon BoomBoom. While Yuri’s plan to keep the Clowns apart and hindered in the war (by infecting BoomBoom with Mime-itis) was effective, her blood proved to not be as potent as they had hoped… her C-Cells were not high enough to achieve their goal: Turn All Clowns into Mimes.
Upon discovering a “cure” and “vaccine” were being created for “Mime-itis” (through the word of the many mimes already around in the city as well as from boastful drs), Yuri and Eva returned, not only to keep the Clowns apart but to also to turn their intended “vaccine” into biowarfare: make all Clowns the thing they hate... Mimes. And now that the whole city is against them, maybe the silent treatment should be spread to the whole city.
Together or alone, Eva intends to turn all Clowns into Mimes, if not all people, into Mimes, even if it means losing her own voice.
Lily and Bringles' Blood Lore[]
Having lived a life of bubbles and colour, Lily Night-Sky had always wondered why she felt a degree of sympathy towards Mime’s who showed her kindness. When she discovered she was half-mime she realised that not all mime’s stripes were so clearly black and white. Little does she realise, that herself and her twin, Bringle Dingus, are the bastard children of a Popov, and descendants of the “Omega Mime” alongside Yuri & Eva Popov. Their mother had once fallen for the colours and laughter of a Clown; a disgrace to her family, she died during childbirth with her twin babies being given away in the night. Half Clown, Half Mime, Lily’s C-CELLS & M-CELLS balance in perfect harmony with each other, where normally one would outweigh the other.
Having often received doubts from the Clowns, will realising their mime-heritage encourage them to return to their mime family? Will they choose to claim their chance of becoming the new inheritors of the "Omega Mime" over Yuri & Eva? Will they want to become full clown or full mime? Only time will tell...
