Mia Torini is a character role-played by Ripley.
Background[]
Mia Torini is an Italian woman who was born in Sicily, but moved to Liberty City when she was 6 years old. She is the granddaughter of the infamous Mafia capo Massimo Torini. Her father and mother disappeared during the "War of the Families" and Mia was left to look after herself under the careful eye of her grandfather's closest friend and the eventual underboss of their crime family: Paulie Gambino. She spent most of her growing years in a private school, studying art, while attending meetings in the underground of her family's Palermo hotel in Liberty City. It was here that she learned the family business: import and export of blackmarket goods. When it was time for Mia to move and attend art school, Paulie Gambino was murdered by a rival group. The family drew a vote for who should take his position. Though there were many candidates, Mia was chosen to fill Paulie's shoes.
After a tragic cannoli choking accident, the boss of the family passed away. Recognizing her capabilities, the family unanimously elected Mia as the new boss, marking her as the first woman to lead them to expand in both the home land and across the United States.
NoPixel 3.0 and the Aliens[]
Mia didn't spend very much time in Los Santos during NoPixel 3.0. Just before the "collapse," she met up with Desmond Walker (also known as Frog) who brought her to a court case between Eugene Zuckerburg, James Randal and the Unified Police Department. At recess, Eugene began injecting people with metamorphine. The injected soon began to experience hallucinations of aliens, seemingly fighting the air by onlookers. Mia was amongst the group of injected. She often cites this as the day she found out "aliens were real."
The Collapse of Los Santos[]
After the devastation of th Sanguine Isle war, Mia was forced to travel back to Liberty City to strengthen the family. Her ex-husband, Cam, and brother-in-law, Johnny, filled Mia in on an art heist job that would provide enough money for them to retire from the heist business. The crew would consist of Mia, Johnny, Cam, and Spanky, a member of the Palermo Hotel security crew who was making their name in the mafia under Teemu Cash (the capo of the family). After a year of planning, Mia finally set the plan in motion.
Cam, an expert behind the wheel, would be the getaway driver. Johnny would guard the hostage and deal with the cops should the be alerted. Spanky was on camera duty. Mia was the primary hacker. Once the crew was in the museum, Mia began and completed all security hacks to get to the final room containing a $45 million painting made by a world famous artist from the late 1800's. Carefully loading the painting into a secondary vehicle out back, Mia signaled for everyone to get ready to go. The crew made their escape and settled at the meetup spot after seemingly losing the police, when Spanky transmitted over the radio: "I'm sorry for this. They made me an offer I could not refuse." Suddenly, the FIB swarmed the house.
Cam and Johnny had already agreed that should they get caught, they would take the fall and trick Mia to escape solo. She was far too valuable to their family to spend the rest of her life in prison. Vowing to meet up with her on the other side, they surrendered and took all of the charges while Mia escaped through a tunnel to the docks and set sail for Florida. Once she got there, she began assuming her maiden name (Torini) to throw the cops off should they eventually look for her.
After 5 long years of writing letters and contacting lawyers to get in touch with them, Mia decided she would leave Florida and go back to Los Santos. She has not heard from either of them since the day they were apprehended.
