Background[]
Louis Brickston grew up in a small town home in the Fayetteville Arkansas. His father, Frank Brickston lived an on and off as a police officer life while his mother was a doctor at the local hospital. Louis had a keen connection with his father, constantly admiring him and shadowing and a desire to follow in his footsteps. The young Louis always was polite and friendly towards everyone he met and interacted with. Louis grew up liking the similar traits as Frank. Frank loved taking his Silverado off road towards the hills and Louis always rode along with him. One day, at the age of 8 Frank woke Louis up to take him up the hills. After their normal routine Frank pulled out his carbine hunting rifle and started to teach Louis how to properly hold the weapon and fire it. As they both ventured into the woods towards a target shooting range Frank gave his carbine to Louis and told him to give it a shot. Louis stunned grabbed a hold of the rifle, clocked it, and proceeded to fire single shot rounds towards soda cans, targets, and bottles. Louis landed roughly all his shots completely hitting every mark imaginable. Frank stood there in wonder as his son stared at his father in awe. Screaming at the top of his lungs, "Look dad I hit all of them! Look!" Frank knew there was potential in his son. But this would only be used for his own benefit. Louis only saw one side of his father, as he rarely had the time to truly grasp who he was.
After taking his son to the range even more and having him ease into shooting. Louis competed in the regional Target Shooting Event where he completely swept the competition off their feet placing 1st place as a shooter at the age of 10. Frank pushed his son to compete in the national level but due to Louis's young age, he was unable to continue. Still Louis was considered a note-worthy shot. Frank got great praise from his friends about his son. And he was proud of it which fueled his pride, to make and mold him into someone that Louis was unaware about.
While Brickston managed to work with his father, he did enjoy spending a lot of time with his best friend neighbor Ashley. The 2 of them were best friends. They'd occasionally roughhouse with each other playing around. Ashley would overpower Louis at times holding her ground when horseplaying. The 2 were inseparable. One day both Ashley and Louis were at the park on the playground. As they finished, she started to walk across the street when a car coming at a high rate of speed struck Ashley sending her flying over 10 feet to the pavement. Louis screamed for help, but nobody came. Eventually the ambulance and police came in and Ashley was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital at the age of 11. Louis was devastated, he had lost someone so close to him. And his father was nowhere to be found. He was alone in the hospital bawling away. To remember her to this day, he has changed his hair color to match Ashleys as a way to remember her by and wears a bucket hat that she once wore. To this day, he still does not know who killed Ashley.
Frank paid little to no attention to Louis and his mourning of Ashley. He knew that the young Louis would turn to his father for a sense of guidance and aid. With his mother never around, Louis finally told his old man that he wants to be just like him. Frank knew that this was the moment for him to pounce on taking advantage of his naive son.
One day as Louis finishes his training, his father invites him to the cellar basement. As Frank and Louis both started to walk down the steps Louis could hear a muffled voice voice down there. As he got to the basement, his father turned on the light and immediately the vibe changed for Louis. A man was there, that he didn't recognize. He sat strapped to a chair, crying and begging for freedom. Frank handed, his son a gun and said the 2 most chilling words he has heard in his life. "Kill him." Louis didn't know what to do. He was in shock as to why the man was in their basement in which his father stated, "Didn't you say you wanted to be just like me boy? All this training and work blood, and tears has led you here my son. It's time to show me you can." Louis held the gun with his left hand as that was his dominant hand and felt the cold matte handle. He shivered as he heard the man screaming, pleading for life as if there was another way. Louis was flustered, he pointed the gun at the man, finger on the trigger, but then, everything came to him at once. Everything he knew about his father was a lie, that his father used him as a tool for means of creating not a good person but a monster. Louis threw the gun down, in tears sobbing. His father clicked his tongue in disappointment, he punched his son straight clean across the face dazing him as he collapsed hitting a table.
"Well then I see all that training was meant for nothing. If you don't want to listen to me then I'll just take a part of you with me." His father said. Frank picked up the already dazed Louis pulling on his body and putting his left hand on the table. Frank got his axe and completely removed Louis's hand. The young Louis could not handle the pain and immediately screamed in horror with the amount of blood and the loss of his hand. After a few minutes he grew faint and eventually blacked out. He woke up at the hospital where he was treated for his injuries with his father no where to be found. Louis was then discharged and given to the complete custody of his aunt until he was of age.
Since that day Brickston has vowed to never return to the ways his father had taught him. He knew that his father was trying to create a monster and wanted to steer away from the path. At times he would go in a fit of rage where he would punch walls. This normally occurs when he is distraught and looks at his scars as it hurts him to remember the pain he endured. Despite this, he has grown and has managed to learn to live with it, creating his own personality and being able to identify who he truly is.
