Liya Farah started as an employee of the Lumber Company, but when their leader, Jack Kettleman, left the city, she sought greater opportunities with their long-time business partner, Cypress. Eventually, she became a bought-in member of Cypress and was entrusted with a managerial role at their food booth, Frank's. She was a member of the 404 under Captain Marty Banks during the sub-crew era.
