The Liquid Library is a bar and library. It is located in Mirror Park across the remains of the old Mirror Park Tavern. It is well-known for being the de facto headquarters of Maximilian Thoroughbred’s 2024 campaign for Mayor of Los Santos.

Origins[]

(All dates are based on real life dates.)

The Liquid Library is a multi-faceted establishment located in Mirror Park on the corner of Mirror Park Boulevard and West Mirror Drive. It was conceived by Kermy Fulker as a means to find a new business venture for the Mirror Park Tavern. The concept was developed across the street from the Tavern, with plans for construction beginning in early 2021. Siz Fulker, the former owner of the Tavern initially aimed to run the business independently, hiring civilian staff rather than depending on external groups like the HOA. However, by November 2021, he shifted his focus back to the HOA as their relationship improved, resulting in a collaborative effort.

Construction Challenges and Delays[]

Although the idea was introduced to a construction company early in 2021, actual building work did not commence until early January 2022. Delays were due to postponements, planning issues, and the involvement of multiple contractors. A significant setback occurred on February 24, 2022, when the construction site required lumber to continue work. To resolve this, the HOA undertook a heist to steal lumber from the Paleto Forest Sawmill, leading to a confrontation with a gang known as the "Hyenas." Although the heist was successful, it resulted in multiple arrests, with police killing all but one of the Hyenas. Despite these complications, the lumber was eventually secured for the Liquid Library, allowing construction to proceed.

Development Phases[]

By April 19, 2022, the interior of the Liquid Library was deemed safe to enter, though heavy construction continued with several sections still incomplete. By May, the Liquid Library began operating in a limited capacity despite ongoing renovations. It celebrated its grand opening on June 13, 2022, marking the completion of Phase 1. This phase included significant upgrades to the exterior and interior, with new doors, windows, a hangout area, and a fully equipped bar. Additional rooms such as meeting rooms, offices, and break areas were also added.

Phase 1.1, implemented on April 26, 2022, saw further improvements to the exterior and interior. This included the removal of boarded-up windows, new tiles, wood flooring, and the opening of the closed-off western wing. The cigar room was furnished with leather sofas, and the employee clock-in room received lockers. Phase 1.2, introduced on May 3, 2022, continued these enhancements with the addition of more windows, pillars, and improved lighting wiring. The owner's office underwent a significant transformation, featuring green paint, a large rug, leather furnishings, and a bookshelf that served as a secret door to a hidden gun room. This room contained gun racks, a chandelier, and assorted alcohol and weapons.

Grand Opening and Recent Developments[]

Phase 1.51 marked the grand opening of the Liquid Library on June 13, 2022. This phase signaled the completion of the public-facing sections of the Library while construction continued in other hidden areas. The grand opening was celebrated with much fanfare, showcasing the renovated spaces and drawing attention from the local community.

The latest phase, Phase 1.62, represents a major expansion for the Library, adding a fully functional distillery in the basement, a secret room behind a one-way liquor mirror, a cage, and a backroom. This phase also saw the Liquid Library become the unofficial headquarters for Maximilian Thoroughbred’s mayoral campaign in 2024, highlighting its growing influence and connections within the political landscape.
