You Can't Kill What's Already Dead.

Kelly Dean is a character role-played by Leonarwho.

General Description[]

Kelly Dean is the Sergeant At Arms of the Already Dead Motor Club.

Appearance[]

Kelly has a scarred visage, adorned with an array of tattoos spanning his physique. He is a rare brown-eyed blond, and styles his hair in a mullet cut.

Personality[]

Kelly is a calm, observant individual who tends to be friendly and warm to others. He has a distaste for law enforcement, only abiding by the law if he is with others who aren't criminals.

Background[]

Before Los Santos[]

Kelly was born and raised in Australia.

His parents, Jack and Lily, both passed away in a car accident while he was young. He has no personal memory of what they were like—only stories told by others. As his next of kin, his uncle William took him in and raised him to the best of his ability.

Throughout his childhood, he learned how to defend himself after being bullied at school. He came home with fewer bruises but a smile on his face after being told by William that he was proud of him, regardless of the school reprimanding his actions. This awoke the chaotic side of himself; he enjoyed the feeling of adrenaline and thrills. William bought him a dirt bike, teaching him how to maintain and repair it.

He left his high school education early to help with his uncle's club. Although it seemed like a clean pub at first glance, that was just a front for it being a criminal fencing hub for drugs, stolen goods, and weapons. Customers would ask for an unlisted drink, and business deals would happen beneath the building, in the underground cellars. Kelly quickly learned the trade, creating his own deals with the connections he'd make in bar tending.

Decades after his parents' passing, William was killed by law enforcement after it was revealed he had learned the car accident involving Kelly's parents was never an accident but a cover-up hit. His father had been collecting evidence against his colleagues, revealing corruption within the department, and had plans to reveal all of this to the national intelligence agency before he passed away days before he could attend the meeting.

A colleague of his father who knew of the complete orchestration over time became overwhelmed with guilt, so the man confessed to William. He then killed the confessor out of rage as his killers showed up at the door to get rid of them both, leaving him to try and survive against the attackers. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful but managed to scar one of them with his knife. Bleeding out on the floor, he mustered the strength to call Kelly, apologizing and saying he loved him like he was his son, dying with his phone in hand.

He returned home that night to find William, closing his eyes and laying him to rest. Beside him, he found a police badge. He went to William's pub and was planning to burn it down as well when three police officers walked in asking for a drink.

He told them it was closed for the night and to get out of the pub. Regardless, they continued bothering him, dismissing his anger. Looking down at the colt python beneath the counter, he noticed one of them was wearing William's dog tags around his neck, stained with small specks of blood and lacking a police badge like the rest of them. Kelly reached for it and shot the two officers besides him before they could after the man began to joke about how they both had dog tags, going pale and quiet halfway after reading his former colleague's name on it, then looking up at Kelly and realizing the resemblance between father and son. Within an instant of the shots, the man broke a nearby bottle and struck Kelly across the face, leaving him unable to see out of his left eye momentarily and dropping the gun onto the wooden floor. In retaliation, Kelly tackled the man across the counter, pried the broken bottle from his hands after a violent struggle, and used it to mutilate and kill the man.

After retrieving his uncle's dog tags from the man's neck, he left in a hurry. With nowhere else left to go, he gathered all the belongings and money he had left, purchased an ocean liner ticket, and made the journey to Los Santos in search of a new chapter.

Five Years Gone[]

The federal government issued a RICO warning to the Bondi Boys Motor Club due to their increased aggression and criminal activity. A shootout between the club and the government lasted several hours. Ultimately, the government overran Vespucci, claiming victory over the club and shutting down the operation.

Kelly was one of the many members caught and arrested, being sentenced to five years of incarceration. Shortly into his sentence, the government abruptly and rapidly dissolved, leaving him to be transported to serve the rest of his prison sentence in Australia.

During his prison sentence, he encountered a correctional officer who claimed he knew his father and took enjoyment in knowing that both his father and uncle were killed because he was one of the few people who benefited from the corruption Kelly’s father was trying to end. A few of the inmates overheard the guard and how he was speaking, and as a token of their gratitude for Kelly having been a man and being able to smuggle things into the prison for him, they caught the correctional officer off guard while he was supervising the inmates working in the mechanics shop, and they all beat him unrecognizably. The guards claimed that Kelly was the ringleader of the attack; however, he was in his cell when the guard was killed.

Another incident occurred while he was in prison, which resulted in Kelly having night terrors to this day. He was attacked by three inmates and received lacerations across his back and torso as a result. He managed to outlast his attackers long enough for correctional officers to reach him any longer, and Kelly most likely would have died that night. Kelly now, because of these scars, tends to wear anything that will cover his torso scars.

Once he was released, he tried again to live some semblance of a life in Australia, but he found himself a stranger in his own homeland. Although it hadn’t been home for a while, it felt like he could never get it to be once more. Then the place he once called home was thought to be governed once again. Curious and hopeful he would see those he called his brothers and sisters again, he traveled with Roy back to Los Santos.
