John Doe was a character role-played by aurvinR.
General Description[]
John Doe was a Deputy for the Paleto Bay Sheriff's Office, Badge #658.
He was previously a Dispatch FTO for the Los Santos Police Dispatch, call-sign Delta-4.
He was previously a Special Prosecutor for the Special Prosecutor's Unit.
Background Information[]
John was born in US, Arizona, just outside Phoenix, on June 6th 1995. After 1 year, he was taken to Sweden, Stockholm, by his father William Doe. John lived there for almost 4 years, until May 4th, 2000, when he was taken back to US by his mother, Susan Doe.
For the next 13 years, John lived in suburbs surrounding Phoenix, in relative peace. Despite his mother’s wishes for John to become a doctor, he wanted to try something different. For many years, he struggled to find a subject he would love. He was jumping from one job to another, never able to find the right one.
Eventually, the inspiration he was looking for materialized itself in Susan’s friend, a lawyer named Jim Winters. When he listened to him talking about his job, something inside John clicked and he knew that this was something he wanted to pursue. He bombarded Jim with questions, and even when Jim said that John would have to move to city to pursue this path, he didn’t hesitate.
For the next few months, John was preparing himself for the journey, gathering both information and necessary money. Despite his mother’s protests, John departed from his home at the start of January and soon enough arrived in Phoenix. There, with the help of Jim, he started his law path.
At first, he was just an assistant, dealing with minor paperwork and making sure that Jim had as little to worry about as possible. With time however, he started to be included in more serious and important help. Eventually, on April 17th, 2014, he started attending Arizona Summit Law School in Phoenix. With some problems on the way, he successfully passed his bar exam on May 12th, 2018.
However, despite all the work he has put in, John didn’t feel prepared for real work. He asked Jim for a few more months of work alongside him, who agreed immediately. In the 32 months that followed, John mostly focused on Appeals and other work alongside local DA’s office, which he soon became very fond of.
In early February 2021, John decided to continue his work - but this time alone, with no one’s assistance. He chose Los Santos and soon departed, excited for the future.
Death[]
On October 21st 2022, John was on duty performing his daily PD tasks when a call went off for the city vault. This vault robbery was much like any other, everything went smoothly and soon the criminals were leaving the bank after negotiations were successful. However, during the criminals fleeing, they resorted to shooting at the police as a final attempt to escape. This did not go well.
During the gun battle, the criminals- who were identified as Hydra Gang - pulled off an unsuccessful ambush. John was active during this gunfight and attempted to take down members of Hydra- this was partially successful when he shot and incapacitated Emeka Rose but seconds later was shot and killed by Tyrell Fresh who shot at him in an attempt to save Emeka.
John Doe had no pulse on scene and was later confirmed deceased at Hospital. Those charged for his death include: Tyrell Fresh, Emeka Rose, Nikolai Filatov, Juan Carlos Hernandez and Aleksander Sazkaljovich- who served 7 years in prison each.
Personality[]
John was a very energetic young man. Since he was still learning how the world works, his enthusiasm was through the roof. He wanted to know everything and discover new things all the time. He didn’t have many hobbies (if any), except for one: law. It was the one thing he would always dedicate extra time for and his only love.
As a consequence of this, John was a very law abiding person, always keeping track of newest changes or additions. He believed that law was the answer to all the problems, no matter how big, small or complicated they are. These days, John was more serious and neutral, but previously his enthusiasm and passion were very visible. He was also a very positive person.
In the last few months of his work alongside Jim, John became very disillusioned about people's honesty. After being lied to several times, he became very cautious of anything and anyone unknown to him.
Law was more important to John than anything else in the world. If he has a choice between helping someone or abiding the law, John will always choose the latter. He’s also not afraid to point out other people’s mistakes with the law. Even when it comes to his own safety, the law was on the same or even higher level than his life.
John used to be enthusiastic about most of the things he did. He wanted to do multiple of them at the same time, not giving himself any time. He was always looking for another one, no matter how busy he was. He also had a tendency of behaving like a workaholic. However, after his time in District Attorney's Office and the Special Prosecutor's Unit (SPU), John became more mindful of his own limits, and was no longer working long and unreasonable hours.
John was cautious of other people, especially things they say. He doesn’t trust anyone from the get-go and constantly looks to verify their story/identity whenever he has a chance. The only exception of this rule are people he already knows well, as well as members of the DOJ.
Throughout the months since he arrived in Los Santos, John began to trust members of DOJ less and less. After discovering he had been taken advantage of by several attorneys, mainly Reggie Might, John started distancing himself from all of them. He also became emotionless and cold in the interactions he had with them.
In late May and early June 2021, John also started to distance himself from a few members of DA's Office, mainly ADA Jacob Slate. The tactics and behavior of theirs made John frustrated and miserable. He became much more confrontational and cold during their interactions.
At the current moment, Judges are the only people in DOJ that still have John's full trust.
Around the beginning of February 2022, after multiple months of not allowing himself to trust other people, John started to force himself to open up to other people, even if just in a small degree. This was a result of John feeling lonely and miserable without anyone close to him.
Employment[]
After working with local DA's office in Phoenix, John decided to join it one day and become an ADA. He hoped that one day, he would be able to become a DA or even a judge.
When John arrived in Los Santos on February 6th 2021, he spoke with Judge Allison Thomas and was supposed to be given his bar license back. However, due to an odd accident, he had to speak with another judge again on February 10th, 2021, this time Supreme Justice Wayne Ardson. After being explained John's situation, Ardson decided not to give him a bar license, due to not being bar certified in San Andreas. He told John that he would have to go through the Junior Attorney program and get his bar license that way.
Later in the same day, February 10th 2021, John discovered that he was actually bar certified - due to communication and documentation problems, it wasn't properly shown in the DOJ systems.
On February 11th, 2021, while in the courthouse John ran into the District Attorney Paige Green. After a short conversation about John's past work with DA's office in Arizona and his desire to join it one day, DA Green offered him to work with the office - first, as a Special Prosecutor for a while, then eventually join it fully. John immediately agreed, exchanged numbers with Green and then was assigned his first case as a co-counsel - Eugene Zuckerberg v. Tessa Lamb.
On March 9th, 2021, John was offered a job as Prosecutor in the District Attorney's Office, which he accepted immediately.
On April 5th, 2021, after multiple cases for DA's Office, John was promoted to an Assistant District Attorney (ADA).
In the late May and early June 2021, John has become increasingly anxious and miserable, due to his job as an ADA. After being one of the few active ADAs for almost 2 months, work began to pile up in the amounts that became too much to handle for John. He started to suffer from burnout and eventually, decided it would be best to leave DA's Office, for his own well being.
Starting from June 14th, 2021, John has begun to notify various people about his resignation. After all the preparations had been done, John has decided that his last day in DA's Office would be June 23rd, 2021.
On June 14th, 2021, after deciding that it would be his next path, John has expressed his interest to join Los Santos Police Dispatch to Rylee Grae.
On June 21st, 2021, John has had his Dispatch interview done, with Rylee Grae, Roy Armstrong, Domenic Toretti, and Anita May overseeing.
On June 23rd, 2021, after saying his goodbye to officers at the PD meeting, John was officially hired as a Dispatch Trainee by Brittany Angel.
On August 16th 2021, John was promoted to a Solo Dispatcher by Chad Gable.
On September 7th 2021, after a long consideration and due to his desire to help PD, John decided to join the Special Prosecutor's Unit (SPU), as a Special Prosecutor.
On November 13th, 2021, after Arthur MacNee has left the SPU, John was promoted to a Co-Lead Special Prosecutor.
On December 19th, 2021, John was officially promoted to a Dispatch FTO, with Gable and Adam Watson present.
Throughout December 2021 and beginning of January 2022, John has become increasingly tired and unhappy, due to his job as a Co-Lead Special Prosecutor. With only 4 non-PD Prosecutors, including John, and ever-increasing amount of cases SPU had to deal with, John has started to experience the same feelings he did back at the end of DA's Office. To avoid reaching the levels of burnout comparable to May / June 2021, John has started to consider leaving the SPU as a whole.
On January 9th, 2022, John decided to leave the SPU as soon as he was finished with all of the cases he was helping with at the time.
Around the middle and end of February 2022, John has attended 2 therapy sessions - one with Quinn Naiper and one with Pixie Plum. During those sessions, John expressed his loneliness, lack of trust with other people, and feeling of numbness to all of the death happening around him; something that John has never told anyone before. John's decision to attend those sessions was a result of his personal problems piling up, and not being able to find a solution for any of them.
On March 2nd, 2022, John has had his final court case as a member of SPU - The People v. Flint Lockwood et al.
On March 4th, 2022, during a private conversation with Grae, John has provided his 60 day notice before he makes a decision about his future in Dispatch. This was a result of John wanting to face all of the possibilities / opportunities in the city that he had access to, instead of never changing.
Current Goals[]
After John had made his decision to leave DA's Office, he started to look for a different job that he would be able to dedicate himself to. Eventually, John chose Dispatch. His goals at the time were to get hired as a Dispatcher and then learn his job as best as he can.
As of June 22nd, 2021, John was not considering a Law Enforcement path.
Until December 19th, 2021, John was pursuing Dispatch FTO path.
Additionally, John has initially decided to mark June 23rd 2022 as a day he would make a decision about his future in Dispatch. However, this changed on March 4th, 2022.
Until March 4th, 2022, John's main goal was to train the new generation of Dispatchers.
On March 4th, 2022, John has decided to make the decision about his future in Los Santos on May 4th, 2022, giving himself exactly 60 days to prepare for this important day. John will not accept anything as his main goal until that day.
