5 years before Jade's return to Los Santos, Jade returned home to Virginia to help take care of her sick mother. During her time at home she heard about the economic collapse and realized she would not be able to return to Los Santos for the inevitable future. Jade then decided it would be best to live at home and to continue to take care of her mother, despite her leaving her whole life behind. While at home Jade gave up her life of crime and worked as a bartender at a local bar; that was until her mother passed three years into living at home. With the death of her mother, Jade turned back to a life of crime and violence with her first arrest being assault of a police officer after a fight broke out between she and a customer at the bar. After racking up assault, robbery, and battery charges, Jade heard that Los Santos was opening back up for new and former residents to return, she decided that this was her moment to restart her life and live it the way she wanted to and bought a ticket for the next flight to Los Santos.
