Gulag Gang/3.0

Gulag Gang (GG) is Southside Gang originally founded on June 8th, 2021 by Jean "X" Paul & Ming Jingtai in the Public City, and was officially founded in the Gated City on October 26th, 2021.

Labeled as one of the strongest gangs in the city, and the kings of the Southside, their criminal activities include racketeering, bank heists, gang related violence, drug trafficking, and weapons trafficking. Their criminal ventures mix closely with their legal ventures, with currently owning The Vanilla Unicorn, the Lucky Plucker and the Strawberry Ave. Gas Station.

They are currently holding down the Strawberry Ave. Gas Station, and the old Aztecas block in North Rancho as their turf. They operate under a joint leadership, led by Marty Banks, Ming Jingtai , Jack Cortair and Appie Turk.

General Information[]

Gulag Gang has a motto of never leaving a comrade behind, and are known for going to extreme lengths to save their members from the PD. Members of Gulag Gang enjoy the thrill of high intensity crimes and police chases, often leading themselves into precarious situations. They are known for their goofy personalities and humour, which is contrasted by their brash and brazen attitudes. Their aggressive nature towards rival gangs helped put their names on the map, and allowed them to to rise to the top of the criminal underworld.

Gulag Gang are famous for their chaotic approach to criminal activities, choosing to be reckless and care-fee, rather than being calculated and deliberate. They have garnered a reputation within the PD for their distinct way of committing crime. A group of thrill-seekers and risk takers, GG are widely known as a wildcard group, and can be summed up as predictably unpredictable.

The Rebirth of Gulag Gang[]

After being granted re-entry into the Gated City, Jean "X" Paul severed his ties with Gulag Gang and returned with his original affiliations. During this time, X found himself accompanied by Marty Banks, the sole remaining member of GG. Together, they formed a formidable duo heist team. While Marty advocated for resurrecting GG, X initially showed little interest. However, he soon realized that in order to make consistent strides in the criminal underworld, he needed a reliable crew for heists. Renowned for their takeover of the Public County and their unparalleled dominance, GG made a transformative transition from their gang life, to becoming the foremost crew for heist progression in the Gated City.

They sought out to do mostly high-tier crimes, having robbed countless banks around the city, including being the first group to complete: the Lower Vault, the Yacht Heist, as well as the Casino Heist, and VAR Heist with the Cleanbois.

This would all change on October 26, 2021 when the infamous Lower Vault Robbery happened, and the Chang Gang vs Gulag Gang war began. Jean Paul knew they couldn't just be a heist crew anymore, but was reluctant at first on officially reviving the gang. Jean Paul invited Jack Cortair to GG on that same day, marking October 26, 2021 as the official day of the formation of Gulag Gang in the Gated City. Jean Paul, Marty, and Jack, got involved in the city wide war against CG and their affiliates to retaliate against the "X-Games". The three members of GG fought hard against the whole city, day in and day out. Stemming from this war, Gulag Gang would slowly build a notorious reputation for themselves, not as a heist crew this time, but as an actual gang.

Paleto Bay Warehouse (Rust Base)

Marty purchased a warehouse to be the main storage for everyone, while X created an experimental base in case of a dire situation, where the gang would retreat to if need be. As the bases' design was heavily inspired by the bases in a video game called "Rust," it was given the moniker of Rust Base.

On December 10, 2021, X, Marty, Turk, Jack, Yuno, & Bogg Dann lured the police into the "Rust Base" to get supplies for the VAR heist. X, Marty, Turk, & Jack all went inside the base defending it, while Yuno was in a car scouting. Bogg also remained outside, and used BMX tricks to get to the roof of the base to scout and give direct communication of what they were doing. The base design was proven to be successful against a raid

GG successfully hold off the PD with the "Rust Base"

After their successful defence, the warehouse was immediately sold to avoid getting investigated. It was sold for $500,000, earning the gang $200,000 in profit.

Gulag Street Apartment & Warehouse

GG requested that the government make the warehouse adjacent to the X-Mart purchasable, in hopes that it would become their main stash. This request was approved, and Marty would go on to purchase it for an undisclosed amount.

Marty also requested for the apartments attached to X-Mart to become an apartment block. Marty wanted an area for GG to hangout at that wasn't in front of X-Mart. He believed it was bad for business if a bunch of his gang members loitered around the gas station. The apartments would be fully implemented on May 31, 2022, with Marty and Jack buying the first dorms. The rooms are so close that you can hear everybody through the walls. The backdoors of the apartments also worked perfectly as an exit door to GG's meeting table.

The VCB Garage

On July 28th, 2022, construction of the GG basement was finally completed. The basement is located inside of the GG compound, behind X-Mart, and includes two floors with a drive-in garage and a hangout spot.

The basement is currently used as the garage for all VCB/VCB.GG vehicles, and also as the primary meeting location for when Marty needs to address the gang. Marty hopes that in the future, the basement will be able to be utilized for something bigger. Ideas like an X-Coin mining farm or a vin scratch conversion spot have been suggested by Marty, but it's seems unlikely that any of the ideas will come to fruition.

The GG Compound

On November 16th, 2022, after many months of waiting, the construction company finally finished building the GG compound. The already attached apartments were renovated into an actual apartment complex, and a section of the underpass was converted into a hangout spot. The hangout spot included a swimming pool and a boxing ring.

Territories[]

Gulag Gang's territory is in the city's South Side, specifically at Strawberry Ave. Gas Station (X-Mart), where most South Side gangs like Brouge Street Kingz and The Families are located. Because of being a non-OG South Side gang, they had to earn respect by fighting their neighbours. In the past, they've won wars against South Side gangs like GSF, Aztecas, BSK, and Ballas. During the month of October, 2022, GG began using their sprays to expand their turf eastwards out of the South Side towards the Marabuntas. GG used their sprays to cut off the possibility of a northwards expansion for the Marabunta, going across Capital Blvd, through La Mesa, reaching all the way into El Burro Heights .This completely sealed off the Southeast area off the Southside.

Trivia & Notable Achievements[]

The gang was originally created in the public server.
The name "Gulag Gang" was first coined by Roundy Buffet as a joke towards Jean Paul's recent deportation from the main city.
Was an informal group in WL and was only interested in banks robberies and the yacht heist.
They used to often be found tweeting "GGEZ" after doing a successful job.
After experimenting with colors for a few months, GG adopted Tan as their gang color, especially during wars, as suggested by Ming Jingtai
Vivian Vale and Selena Martinez are not in the gang anymore, but they haven't been blooded out.
The first gang to ever form on the public server.

True to the gang's name, all OG members has received a ban.

With the exception of Jack Cortair, every OG member has received the highest form of punishment, a "permaban"; a type of ban that can only be appealed after 30 days. Astoundingly, all of their permabans happened on separate occasions and doesn't correlate with each other.

GG had the first ever spray war in the city with The Families, which they won. GSF gave up one spray and 100k.

The first group (with CB) to fully complete the 3.0 July updated Fleeca Bank, with 5/5 loot.

The second group to rob the 3.0 July updated Paleto Bank, but the first group to silently rob it (Never pinged the cops), with 5/5 loot and the first to discover the ATM and Payphone hacks.

GG are the first to enter the 3.0 July Lower Vault, and the second to blow up the Palmer-Taylor Power Station.

GG (with CB) are the first to rob the 3.0 July updated Lower Vault.

GG has succeeded in hacking more S++ than any other group.
