Grapeseed Castle is a warehouse on Grapeseed Main Street that has operated as Blaine County's town hall, courthouse, housing, and event space.
Description[]
Grapeseed Castle is a converted warehouse located in a supermarket on Grapeseed Main Street, across the street from The Last Call as well as other properties managed by Deputy Mayor Lexi Law for the benefit of Blaine County. It is intended for use as a community event space, although previously was the town hall, and then an apartment complex.
History[]
Mumbles Fumbles originally wanted to secure a warehouse for community use in Grapeseed while he was mayor. Princess Elena as interim mayor purchased the warehouse from The Manor for $8.5 million, and together with Windsong designed a new interior to mimic a castle. During her tenure, it acted as a town hall, courtroom, and event space. There was also the Round Table, a place where the mayor or others used as a meeting room. The building also contained Princess Elena's bedroom, a dungeon, and a treasure room.
The throne room hosted the wedding between Party Hardy and Chesca Raiola on April 12th, 2025. It was used for several events during the April 2025 Blaine County Mayor election.
The Golden Lure[]
The treasure room contained a mysterious artifact that appeared soon after the room was built, that no one knew the origin of. When Windsong gave a tour of the castle to James Kelly, he touched the artifact. He began to hallucinate whispers, and the next day, brought his friends with him to the castle and had Princess Elena show him the treasure room again. After interacting with the artifact, he left with his friends, and when driving, suffered a seizure and crashed their SUV, and had to be admitted to ICU.
Elena consulted with Idol Lunas and Guppy on the artifact. Guppy recognized it as the Golden Lure, the artifact he had been charged with protecting and had lost when he arrived on the shores of Los Santos. He explained that the Lure and its power belongs whoever touches the Lure and survives. Idol performed a ritual and survived touching the Lure; Elena touched it and found she was unable to leave the water for very long. Guppy swore his service to Elena as the last person to touch it, however Elena released him from this obligation later when she returned the Lure into his care.
James Kelly remained obsessed with the Lure, being driven insane by its effects on him. He demanded Guppy give him the Lure, or else James would hurt The Funhouse Clowns. Guppy gave him it, but hoped that the Lure would find its way back to him later.
The End of Grapeseed Castle[]
Despite Elena's intentions to use the Castle for public use, Marty Banks ran on a platform against Elena that she had embezzled to create the Castle for personal use. He planned to convert the Castle to a casino if elected mayor; he lost in the election against her.
During the embezzlement, terrorism, and treason trial against Elena, the Castle came up again. However, the judges ruled that she did not embezzle when it came to the property. Elena insisted that the Castle would go to the next mayor. However, upon hearing that mayoral candidate Junior Huntley planned to demolish the Castle and replace it with a "tier 2" apartment complex that would charge tenants rent for the county, Elena privately wished she could keep it. After being repeatedly persecuted by the Los Santos Police Department, Elena gave up on everything and fled to join New Babylon, willingly giving control of the Castle to Mayor-Elect Huntley.
Huntley had the Grapeseed Castle demolished on July 22, 2025. At the same time, Helen Highwater canceled her plans for a renaissance faire in the Grapeseed area as the Castle was planned to be a crucial location. The "Tier 2 apartments" became available the following month.
Restoration of Event Space[]
When Dawn Hearte was elected mayor, she reviewed the apartments and found that there was less than a dozen tenants, with overdue rent and other issues. Her cabinet decided to evict the remaining tenants and restore the original purpose of the building as an event center. Helen resumed her plans for her renaissance faire, though the apartments would not be fully cleared and remodeled in time. Helen hired Tessa Lamb to remodel the apartment lobby into a "sword in the stone" room.
The space is also currently used as a public-use recording studio, and the headquarters for the new driving school run by Sherry Paie. It was remodeled into a "winter wonderland" event space for December 2025.
