Shirley Elizabeth Abigail Lemons is a cheerful, law-abiding citizen of Los Santos, who enjoys going on adventures in the great outdoors. She is an avid lover of animals and dinosaurs, and enjoys exploring the whole island, especially the mountains. Shirley can be found frolicking around the city or deep in the woods. She is normally easily recognizable by her overalls and her bright red hair. Most times she is positive and easily excitable, and is known for her kindness and sincerity.
Shirley owns two pets, a shepherd named Winnie the Pooch, and a chicken, gifted to her by her friends at The Green Agricultural Company as an engagement present, named Dorothy.
Shirley owns her own business, "Shirley's Dino Den", located on Great Ocean Highway close to Paleto. Shirley also works routinely at Paleto Pets, taking care of the soon-to-be adopted animals and helping people get their furry pets. Additionally, she works at the Little Paws Animal Hospital as a Senior Vet. She is also an Advanced EMT with the Emergency Medical Services, and uses the call-sign A-88.

Background[]
Shirley grew up on a peach tree farm in Canton, Georgia with her father, mother, and two older brothers. When she was 14, her mother passed away after battling an illness for years, leaving a huge hole in her heart. But still, she had a happy upbringing, constantly surrounded by her loving family and spending a lot of time helping with the farm.
After the encouragement of her father to move away, she moved to Los Santos, where she worked as a tow truck driver. Unfortunately, soon after her cow Bessie got pregnant, and she moved back to the farm for 4 months. As of July 13, 2021, Shirley Lemons returned to Los Santos.
She grew up to be very sheltered and naïve due to her family being over protective of her. Even so, her life in Los Santos has toughened her up, and she is no longer as trusting as before. Shirley is fiercely protective of the ones she loves, and stands up to anyone who dares to bully her friends. She highly values the relationship her father had with her mother. Shirley mentions from time to time that her biggest role model is her mom, and that in the future she would like to be as good a person as she was.

Romantic Relationship
Basil "Herbie" Barbera - Basil met Shirley while she was going through some of the hardest moments of her life. Although sometimes awkward and clumsy, Shirley found lots of comfort in his friendship, and he brought happiness back into her life. She is very appreciative that she can just be herself around him. Things went a bit south when she found out he developed feelings for her and left town, and she struggled with the thought of losing another person she cared about. Basil returned after being told that Shirley was in the ICU, and after giving Shirley a few weeks to recover and figure out her feelings, they decided to secretly go steady and officially start dating on July 7th 2023, then went public with the relationship on July 11th 2023 to their closest friends. After a scary scavenger hunt on October 13th 2023 (Friday the 13th) involving their closest friends, Basil proposed and they were engaged.
Friends
Posy Florian - Posy was one of the first people Shirley ran into upon her return to Los Santos, and after meeting up with Steven and going to Burger Shot with him, she found out that Posy was one of his closest friends. Posy is shocked after learning that Shirley is indeed a real person and not someone Steven made up. Once Steven and Shirley started dating, and Shirley became a target of the Smiley serial killer Kenneth Jesperson, Posy and Shirley started to talk more, and quickly became friends. Shirley trusts Posy a lot, and knows that she will always look out for Steven and her. She loves Posy very much, and even chose her to be the one to walk her down the isle and officiate their wedding.
Bryce Miller - Bryce and Shirley have had a turbulent friendship with many ups and downs. He was very involved in the beginning stages of her first relationship, constantly putting them in uncomfortable situations together before they were dating. He has helped her during rough moments in her life, but also been the cause of a lot of issues with her friends and then husband. Even so, Shirley has always seen the good in him, and sees him like a lovable older brother figure. He is one of the only people in the city who hasn't left or abandoned her, and when push comes to shove he's there for her.
Fresh Juice - Fresh is Shirley's boss and good friend at the Green Agricultural Company, who hired Shirley randomly as she was walking on the pier due to her accent and overalls. The two found they had something in common as they both had a cow with the same name, which began their friendship. Fresh (for the most part) has been the one to show Shirley how things work in Los Santos.
Kiki Pendragon - Kiki was one of Shirley's first friends in the city. They worked the GAC booth together, and went out fishing from time to time. Shirley and Kiki care deeply about each other, and have been there supporting each other's love, work, and every day life. Kiki was also a huge help during the LemonHayes wedding, and gave a very emotional speech at the reception. Kiki is one of the most important people in Shirley's life, and she considers her to be her best friend.
Finn Brennan - At first, when they met at Maldini's, Shirley really liked Finn, but had her reservations about him becoming Steven's PA (and in turn becoming Lucas 2.0). Once Steven decided not to hire him and instead become friends with Finn, Shirley started to spend more time with him, enjoying his positivity and overall kindness towards people. Shirley has grown very attached to Finn, and considers him to be her "younger brother". She is always willing to give him advice, and is willing to stand up to anyone who bullies or hurts him.
Di On Tam - Shirley and Di On met a few times when she came to her rescue as EMS, but they properly spent more time together when Shirley was hired as an EMS. She went on multiple FTO sessions with Di On, and they became fast friends. She was Shirley's favorite FTO to ride with during her trainee days, and she really appreciated her input and suggestions. Since then, they have continued to look out for each other, both on and off duty. A normal greeting for them is seeing who can tackle the other first.
Paddy Scratch-Patrickson- Shirley and Paddy met in passing a few times, but they formally met at LemonHayes, when he and his wife Cat came to buy products. Shirley is always bright and bubbly around him, while he is the complete opposite, but it somehow ended up in an unlikely friendship. He regularly calls just to see how she's doing, and Shirley got to be their first customer when they opened their own storefront, Caddy's Corner, and they eventually offered her a job there. They don't always see eye to eye on things, but Shirley trusts him.
Willie Banger - Willie and Shirley have known each other for a long time, as they both used to regularly work booths at the farmers market and talked often. They've supported each other throughout the process of getting their storefronts, as well as emotionally while Shirley was going through a rough time. Shirley considers him to be her in-city grandpa, and she appreciates everything he does for her and how much he cares.
Flag - Shirley's best friend, something that is there for her through thick and thin. They met on a day Shirley was lonely, and from then on has been a great source of companionship and comfort for her. They pretended to be long necked dinosaurs together, running around the golf course, as well as pretended to be sharks and swam in the lakes together. Some have called them a big red flag, which they are, but despite that Shirley and Flag have formed a close bond.
Enemies
Kenneth Jesperson - Shirley became involved with the Smileys the moment she started dating Steven. She quickly entered Mr. Smiley's radar, and ended up getting kidnapped and carved in the Grapeseed basement due to being part of Steven's circle of friends.
Lucas Spade - Lucas and Shirley were once good friends, but this changed when Steven returned to Burger Shot after quitting. After Lucas learned of this, he called Steven and became heated, and they both exchanged harsh words. Lucas ended up texting Steven hurtful statements, which Shirley did not appreciate. This, and the events which lead up to Posy and Lucas' broken friendship, are the reasons Shirley does not like Lucas and prefers to stay away, not even willing to utter his name.
Josh Grimm - After being introduced by Clara Mellow, Shirley initially liked Josh due to his seemingly level head. After the two started dating, they saw each other on occasion, and there were multiple instances where Shirley was skeptical/displeased with his actions, attitude, or general demeanor. After Shirley and Steven were attacked on the day of their storefront opening, and after a fallout with Clara due to supposed withheld information regarding storefronts, they learned that Josh has DID and a violent alter, named "The Reaper", who was the one who attacked them, shooting Steven in the head and molotoving them both twice.
Clara Mellow - Clara and Shirley met through Steven once they started dating. They clicked right away and became fast friends. Shirley appreciated how Clara was willing to stand up for Steven and her, and how nice and chill she was. They bonded over their mutual love of romance and poetry, and they spent a lot of time together. They frequently confided in each other about the problems in their lives, and Clara became someone she trusts deeply. Shirley chose Clara to be the maid of honor at their wedding. She has fully cut contact after Clara sided with Josh Grimm after his alter, The Reaper, attacked her and Steven.
Past Romantic Relationship
Steven Hayes - Both Steven and Shirley were unable to fit in when moving to Los Santos, and both bonded because of this. Both were each other's first and only friends for a long time. However, due to her cow Bessie becoming pregnant, Shirley had to leave and lost contact. Steven began to believe Shirley was his girlfriend (due to a "date" at the Rooster's Rest) and claimed she was when she was not. When returning to Los Santos once again, Shirley heard that they were supposedly "dating" at some point from Bryce Miller. This made the relationship awkward as Steven was dating, and Shirley openly admitted she had romantic feelings for him but was not going to act upon them. On August 4th, 2021, the two began dating after he broke up with his then-girlfriend, Rory Borealis. On January 26th, 2022, they were officially married. On April 29th 2023 they were officially divorced.
