The Rooster's Rest is a local establishment privately-owned by Lang Buddha and members of the Cleanbois. While the business mostly operates as a chalet-style restaurant (serving mainly chicken-based products and ramen bowls), The Rooster's Rest also operates as a bar and grill, music venue, nightclub, hostel, the base of operations for Rooster Cab Co., a secretive host for D&D campaigns, and as a casino, strip club and brothel on the down-low. The Rooster's Rest initially supported the mayoral run of Humberto Antonio Donato Pecorino, however, after he dropped out they later struck a deal with candidate Thomas Dwayne in exchange for potential amnesty, particularly in regards to the Rooster's illicit gambling operations.

The establishment itself is a rather large property located on West Eclipse Boulevard just before the hills. The Rooster's Rest consists of a large dining atrium, a stage, a kitchen, a sizable bar, several bedrooms, a staff room, and multiple secret rooms and corralling tunnels that exist beneath the property which are only accessible to Mr. Buddha and select employees.

History[]

Lang Buddha inherited the inn from his grandmother, having been in the family for several generations, and also hired Petunia Brookshire at her dying request. On Feburary 5th, 2021, the site served as the formation of the Cleanbois and was heralded as "The Rooster's Rest", with the gang dedicating themselves to the success of the business. Later, Lang made Humberto 'Don' Pecorino the co-owner of the establishment.

Lang's Golden Rule[]

Lang has one golden rule that he vigilantly enforces: to keep gang activity off of Rooster's Rest property. Even the smallest of rulebreaks have precipitated major turning points in Los Santos history, such as Ray Romanov's exile from the Cleanbois, a war that led to the passage of the R.U.S.T. Act, the bombing of Lucky Plucker, the exile of The Guild from Vinewood, and multiple bombings and attacks on Rooster's Rest.

Events[]

Feud with Burger Shot
Food Wars

The Rooster's Rest serves as the primary competitor to the fast-food giant Burger Shot, which prior to the Rest's opening held a seeming monopoly on food in Los Santos. The earliest hostility between the two businesses occurred over several instances of 'fredophobia' (discrimination against Italians) between Don Pecorino and numerous Burger Shot employees, eventually leading to his expulsion and banning from the property. Since then, numerous workers at the Rooster's Rest have been involved in a large-scale smear campaign known as #BurgerGate against the fast-food chain. The scandal claims that Burger Shot uses human meat in their burgers, correlating with the number of deaths and shootings that occur on the property on a daily basis. This rumor spread rapidly and was apparently under investigation by both the Los Santos Police Department and Weazel News, the former of which already had strong ties with Burger Shot.

In addition, the Cleanbois made several attempts to recruit former and disgruntled Burger Shot employees to work at the Rooster's Rest, including Bogg Dann, Lenny Large, and Eugene Zuckerberg, with mixed results. When Tony Corleone was fired from Burger Shot due to his bad work ethic, the rumor spread that he was fired due to the restaurant's anti-Italian sentiments, leading to his rehiring at the fast-food establishment, though, by that point he had already began working at The Rooster's Rest.

Days before the Rooster's Rest's grand opening, the restaurant was visited by Burger Shot owner Kevin Whipaloo and his associate Kiki Chanel. Kevin had attempted to meet with the Cleanbois in good faith, but his attitude had grown sour due to perceived disrespect from Buddha, including crashing into his car and threatening to 'put (him) out of business'. Kiki also convinced him that the restaurant had reeked of several Italian spells and curses much to Humberto's dismay. When accused of the makeup of the burgers, Whipaloo retorted that approximately '70%' of the meat wasn't beef, but that he wasn't legally obligated to state what the burgers were in fact made of.

Kevin later hired the cleric Gloryon and several of his fellow LARPing guild to further investigate the Italian spells and spy on the Rooster's Rest, more specifically, Pecorino. However, unbeknownst to Kevin, Gloryon had previous history with Don and thought highly of him (having been involved in the murder of Mick Camland). Humberto quickly learned of Whipaloo's plan, and trying to get the roleplaying nerds off his back, recruited them on a "side quest" to find evidence of human corpses being used in the Burger Shot meat, or to plant evidence to suggest as such. Humberto was then christened 'Stormlord'. Gloryon and his followers took the side quest seriously, eventually finding out that there may be more truth to the #BurgerGate conspiracy than the rumors started by Pecorino. The roleplayers, having proved their usefulness to Don, even started working at the Rooster's Rest as security. When questioned on the status of the investigation, Gloryon exclaimed they had incriminating evidence and that it was in the 'post-production stage'.

The so-called "evidence" later surfaced online in the form of a shaky gonzo-style video dated 2/12/21, which, supposedly, shows leaked footage of Whipaloo and other unidentified Burger Shot employees discussing the human meat in their burgers. After the leaking of the video, Whipaloo denounced the video and claimed that none of the assumed employees in the video even worked at Burger Shot.

On the opening night of the Rooster's Rest, Humberto led the role-players to the public sidewalk outside the Burger Shot parking lot, where they approached customers to further propagate the #BurgerGate conspiracy, catching the attention of a local Weazel News crew. However, eventually the crowd was approached by Burger Shot employee Lenny Large, who dispersed the crowd. Humberto and the employees later returned to the Rooster's Rest for the restaurant's grand opening, which seemed to be going well until the aforementioned news crew informed Al Saab that they had received a phone call from Large, stating that 'shit was about to go down' at the location and to 'start recording'. Lacking any substantive event security outside of the roleplayers and fearing a potential attack on the property, Buddha called in the remaining available Cleanbois and posted to Twitter that the restaurant would be offering free meals to law enforcement officers, leading to the arrival of multiple police officers and park rangers, no substantive attack occurred.

The R.U.S.T Act

Mayor Lang Buddha became unhappy with Cleanboi Raymond Romanov's R.U.S.T gang when they started breaking Lang's golden rule of keeping gang activity off of Rooster's Rest property. The all-out war between Cerberus and R.U.S.T led to the passage of the Restricting Undesireable Serial Targetings Act, a replacement for Coop's Law to legislate harsher punishments against criminals who commit targeted violence against civilians and commercial entities.

The first R.U.S.T incident occurred on March 12, 2023 when Lang wanted G Baby dead after Randy Wrangler had raided his 9's van parked at Rooster's Rest, seizing around 30 used and broken Class-2 guns. Lang and Harry Brown initially gave Ray a GPS tracker for G Baby and 24 hours to decide. However, Lang ended up sparing G Baby's life because he wanted R.U.S.T's support in his mayoral re-election campaign against Osvaldo Pingafria.

The second incident occurred on May 12, 2023 at Rooster's Rest when two new R.U.S.T members Maxine Celsius and Kate Myles helped R.U.S.T kidnap customer Elfy Lyng from the premises for openly bad-mouthing their gang (stemming from an incident where R.U.S.T had flung her from a building for gold panning). Ray also asked Eve Summers to fire Elfy from Rooster's Rest because of how R.U.S.T had helped Lang win re-election. Furious that Maxine had been working at Rooster's Rest when he had radioed his gang to come over, CEO Penny Farthing fired him. At a heated meeting between R.U.S.T and Lang, Harry, Penny, and Denzel Williams at Rogers Salvage & Scrap, Ray defended his members' actions. Lang banned R.U.S.T from Rooster's Rest, Ray became furious with Penny for rebuking him, and Lang pulled a gun on Connell MacGregor for making snide comments. Afterward, Ray accused four of Penny's fellow Angels including Claire Seducer of spying on their meeting, and gunned them down.

On May 26, 2023, Lang, Harry, and Speedy conspired to punish Maxine and set up an ambush for him and his adoptive father Ray at a Clean Manor meeting--leading to a R.U.S.T breach inside of the manor's secret tower area. R.U.S.T then used food trucks to undermine Rooster's Rest business with free food out in front (though the owners of UwU Café and Maldini's Pizzeria asked to be left out of it). MacGregor also vandalized Rooster's Rest and Clean Manor with sprays. Lang banned R.U.S.T from Otto's Autos, trolled Ray that the Mayor's Office approved a business for Elfy in their scrapyard, and crashed a cargobob trying to steal one of Ray's food trucks. Per Harry's new suggestion, he, Lang, and Denzel rained rented helicopters on Ray's food truck event. Afterward, R.U.S.T managed to capture Lang, Harry, Denzel, and Speedy. Ray stole Speedy's old meth lab key and evaded the police.

At a contentious Clean Manor meeting between Lang, Harry, and Ray on June 2, 2023, Lang confirmed to Ray that he was dead to the Cleanbois family. Afterward, Ray and R.U.S.T kidnapped both Deputy Mayors Nancy Drew and Eve Summers from Rooster's Reef. The police chased their car until it ran out of gas on the freeway. Lang, Harry, and the PD all converged onto the freeways and at least 20 people went down in the massive shootout that followed, including R.U.S.T, Air-1, Lang, Harry, Nancy, Eve, and several PD officers. Chief Judge Alan Crane ruled R.U.S.T guilty of Coop's Law and sentenced each of them to an additional 2-4 years (except time served for Achez Perez because he wasn't on bail), 3-5 years parole, and a $250,000-$1,000,000 fine. As a result of this case, the Senate decreed that the 9th Amendment (Coop's Law) be removed and that new, less broad laws would be written in its place. On June 23, 2023 with Senate approval, Chief Justice Alan Crane entered into legislation the Restricting Undesireable Serial Targetings Act (the replacement for Coop's Law) for harsher punishments against criminals who commit targeted violence against civilians and commercial entities.

After Chem kidnapped Tony and Goofy, Tony, Mr. K, and Ramee El-Rahman crashed three planes into Ray's party--escalating the conflict into a Redline civil war where Ray's own people began to openly defy him. Ray finally called Lang and brokered a truce where they agreed to go their separate ways.

War with Gulag Gang and The Mandem

Starting in July 2023, Lang Buddha led a Rooster's Rest militia comprised of himself, Leslie Lingberg, Harry Brown, Speedy, Denzel Williams, Al Saab, Zaceed Skengerton, Cerberus' brand-new Director of Creative Innovation and Design Cydney Lune, Franky, the Italians and other Rooster's Rest security personnel, and the Goon Squad against The Mandem (who had begun beefing with Speedy over a car scam) and Gulag Gang for breaking Lang's golden rule of gang activity on the Rooster's Rest premises.

On July 21, 2023 for DHead's reality TV show, he, 4Head, Kyle Pred, Marty Banks, and Larry Knox did drive-by shootings at the Rooster's Rest. Based upon information that 4Head, DHead, and Pred had done it, a hunting party of Lang, Harry, Luciano DiCenzo, Zaceed, Leslie, and Apple eventually won a prolonged gunfight against Marty, 4Head, DHead, Pred, and Kevin Ram that concluded with a Grandma's house shootout. Lang temporarily took 4Head's GG chain and dropped him down Bane's Pit.

After discussing a truce with Marty, Lang changed his mind upon hearing from Luciano that Lucky Plucker owner Larry Knox had also been involved in the Rooster's Rest drive-by shootings (Lang also thought the fifth passenger was Ming Jingtai rather than Marty). Using a remote bomb that Yeager Demonblood procured without knowing the target, Lang blew up the Lucky Plucker on July 22, 2023--reducing it to rubble. After Lang told Yeager about bombing Lucker Plucker, Yeager wished that Lang hadn't told him and admitted to liking Gulag Gang. To Lang's dismay, Yeager repped a Gulag Gang chain to him. Then when Rooster's Rest employee Boris Karishnikov locked 4Head out of his warehouse, 4Head, DHead, and Pred tried to kidnap Boris from the Rooster's Rest premises but wound up shooting him instead. In response, Lang had Speedy cut 4Head off from the Tijuana weapon's bench on July 24, 2023. Convinced that Yeager had joined Gulag Gang and was the one who had leaked Lang's bombing of the Lucky Plucker to GG, Lang prepared to arm Rooster's Rest security for war by crafting rocket launchers with Denzel Williams on the Guild Hall bench. Eve Summers caught them in the act and got upset, and The Guild subsequently removed Lang's keys to the Guild Hall and bench. Lang removed The Guild's keys (including Rooster's Rest), cut ties with them, and threatened to kick them out of Vinewood if they didn't leave.

Both Gulag Gang and The Mandem (wanting their chain back from Apple) waged war against the Rooster's Rest demons (Lang, Harry, Zaceed, Speedy, Cydney Lune, and Rooster's Rest security). Under siege from both GG and Mandem, the Rooster's Rest property turned into a war zone. On July 30, 2023, Zuck Cuc disguised himself as a Dodo Express deliveryman to plant a remote bomb on the doorstep of Rooster's Rest, catching both Lang and Zaceed in the explosion. Consequently, Rooster's Rest temporarily closed down to clean up the debris.

Starting near the end of April 2023 and spanning almost 3 months, Rooster's Rest was the target of several incidents of violent crime and intimidation.

—Introduction to Lang Buddha's 4-page request for a Rooster's Rest State Business Grant Supplemental.

Lang successfully requested a 4.5 million dollar state business grant supplemental from Mayor Sexton "Hardcastle" Cohen for Rooster's Rest to compensate its employees, claiming almost 3 months of revenue loss due to violent crime and intimidation forcing the restaurant to close down for the safety of its employees and customers.

Following a Rooster's demon attack on X-Mart, Gulag Gang grew frustrated that the police weren't applying any gang charges on them. After Harry Brown rammed Yeager's car and threatened him to get out of Vinewood, their argument ended with Harry gunning Yeager down. Fed up with getting shot down by Harry and Speedy without any punitive action from Lang, Yeager finally decided to side with Gulag Gang against Lang and supplied GG with RPGs to "raze Rooster's Rest to the ground". Also when Fiona Stewart informed Lang that Denzel's adopted son Lando was leaking Lang's participation in the Talon terrorist organization, Lang and Denzel plotted to kill Lando (and potentially other Guild members who took the Talon death oath). After hearing from Fiona about Yeager supplying GG to blow up Rooster's Rest, Lang forewarned Det. Juno Sweeney (who ironically Lang now trusted while GG and Pred considered her corrupt) over the phone and named Yeager as the source of all of the bombs.

On August 2, 2023, Gulag Gang approached Rooster's Rest in two helicopters for an RPG airstrike. Jack Cortair fired several rockets at the restaurant, taking out Denzel who was standing guard inside. Marty Banks misfired his RPG and blew up both himself and his helicopter driver 4Head. Speedy considered rescuing a downed Marty, but dipped after Juno discovered them on a rooftop and got sniped by several gunshots. After Lt. Connor Stubble's PD jet chased after Julian Santorno's helicopter with Jack in it, the police eventually caught Jack with an RPG on him. Marty got caught with an RPG (for a second time) and an AK. 4Head got caught with an RPG (for a third time). After raiding GG, the police released Marty, Jack, and 4Head on parole. Also that same day, the Rooster's demons won a vehicular gunfight against The Mandem (after Tommy T had rejected Lang's offer of returning one Mandem chain to them a week). As part of a call for peace, Lang opted not to add a downed Tommy T's chain to their growing collection. Lang also ordered the Rooster's demons to play defense only and forbade them from sending out anymore hunting parties.

Dismayed that the police released Gulag Gang without charging them with the R.U.S.T. Act, Lang held a meeting at the Rooster's Roost where he laid down the law (including rules regarding the security radio and dress code). Also inspired by a new vision to restructure Cerberus and clean up Vinewood, Lang introduced Luciano DiCenzo to a new Little Italy neighborhood there. Upon returning from vacation, Major Crimes Unit Director Brian Knight told Lang that the police needed more evidence to prove that Yeager was supplying GG with RPGs and bombs. Gulag Gang and The Mandem also tried to convince Brian that Rooster's Rest was more like a gang compound than a civilian business (Patar Bellosh pointed out that the Rooster's demons were stealing his gang's chains). With the Piss Babiez joining GG and The Mandem on their war against Lang and Rooster's Rest (and Deputy Mayor Nancy Drew getting shot down twice hanging out at the restaurant), Brian saw all sides as trying to game the legal system, and grew concerned that PD officers like Trooper Brittany Angel might still be supporting their former Sheriff Pred.

On August 8, 2023 in a peace negotiation with The Mandem at the Rooster's Rest, Lang returned their last stolen Mandem chain to Tommy T and agreed to look for the one they had lost (or to secretly buy a look-alike) within 24 hours. Afterward, following Lang's unsuccessful peace negotiation with Marty Banks to turn over Kyle Pred, Gulag Gang RPG'd the cars at Rooster's Rest.
