The Mayor of the City of Los Santos is the official head and chief executive officer of Los Santos, San Andreas. The officeholder is elected for a 60-day term. According to the Los Santos Senate (and not any written legislation), the Mayor is limited to serving no more than two terms--but can rerun after one month unless impeached. Under the Constitution of Los Santos, all judicial, county and city offices, including those of chartered cities, are nonpartisan. Maximillian Angel was the final Mayor before the government collapsed due to the devastation of the Sanguine Isle war.
Duties and Power[]
The Mayor of Los Santos is the chief executive of the city and the presiding officer of all City Hall Council meetings and various ceremonial occasions in the community. The Mayor and/or Deputy Mayors approve or deny new businesses in the city. The Mayor directs the administrative structure, appointing and removing of department heads. While the council has legislative power, the Mayor has veto power. The Mayor can appoint as many as five Deputy Mayors in their administration. The Chief Judge has the authority to hire the Deputy Mayors so they can sign in.
Upon signing in at Dennis LaBarre City Hall, the Mayor of Los Santos wields the following powers:
- Bank access to transfer money from the State Account and a second Mayor Account.
- Control over all taxes in the city, which deposit into the State Account.
- Key access to the Mayor's Office inside of City Hall and almost every locked door in the city.
- Access to the Mayor Stash inside of the Mayor's Office.
- An input field to broadcast State Announcements.
- Access to a police MDW from anywhere.
- The authority to pardon a death row inmate from execution.
The Los Santos Senate formally decided that a Mayor of Los Santos can only serve two terms. According to Chief Judge Alan Crane, the Senate mandated a "one month" gap time after every two-month term. Andi Jones was the only Mayor in Los Santos history to serve three terms.
Mayoral applicants with felony records are disqualified from appearing on the ballot, meaning that convicted terrorists can never expunge the charge and run for office. According to Government Legislation, the Department of Justice can prosecute a sitting Mayor for one or more of the following Articles of Impeachment: Dereliction of Duties, Gross Negligence, Gross Incompetence, General Corruption, or Criminal Conviction. Abdul AlRahim was the first Mayor of Los Santos to be successfully impeached. Maximillian Angel was the first sitting Mayor to be criminally convicted, serving 2 years for cultivation of marijuana (as part of a Goon School "art project"), then impeached on December 11, 2023.

Deputy Mayor[]
In the case of an office vacancy, the Deputy Mayor, if appointed, will serve until the next regularly scheduled city election. If the Deputy Mayor is not fit to take over, a special election will be held to elect a candidate to serve the remainder of the term. If a certain administration has more than one Deputy Mayor, one will be chosen to serve for the remained of the term. In the case of a mayoral impeachment, all of the Deputy Mayors are disqualified from the Mayor's Office for an indeterminate period of time.
Due mostly to the extension of Mayor Mickey S's second term by an extra three months, Alex Domino holds the record for longest tenured Deputy Mayor in Los Santos--serving in office for a full year from June 10, 2022, to June 10, 2023. Etta Hawthorne has served as Deputy Mayor under three consecutive Mayors, the most of any Deputy Mayor.
Department of Justice[]
In the case there is no Deputy Mayor to serve or the DOJ does not believe the Deputy Mayor/s are fit to serve the end of the term. The DOJ will take over in choosing a new Mayor for the City of Los Santos.
