General Description[]
Maeve O'Malley is a Solo Cadet for the Vinewood Police Department, Badge #TBA.
She was formerly a Paramedic FTO for the Emergency Medical Services, Call-Sign Papa-6. Before that, she worked as a Doctor with the Los Santos Medical Group.
Background Information[]
Maeve and her fraternal twin sister Allison spent their childhood years being in the “perfect” looking family. They didn’t learn that their father was physically abusive to their mother until they were 12 years old. When their mother threatened to leave and take the girls, their father killed their mother with a shotgun right in front of them. He was sentenced to life in prison and the girls were sent to live with their elderly, blind grandmother until they turned 18. By then, Maeve and Allison were used to fending for themselves. They worked hard in school, but they were always known as the girls with the messed-up family.
Maeve decided to pursue a career in medicine and started volunteering to provide free medical care to those at a local homeless shelter. It was there that she bonded with the poor souls that couldn’t overcome tragedies so similar to her own. One person in particular, Hank, had started to develop a friendship with Maeve. Hank had fallen on hard times as an alcoholic who lost his job for showing up to work intoxicated. Maeve took pity on Hank and decided to help him turn his life around. She was naïve to think that she could trust another man after what happened with her father. After volunteering one day, Maeve was planning to return home to tell her sister Allison about her acceptance to a nearby medical school. Unbeknownst to her, Hank followed Maeve to her apartment and attempted to rob her. Hank fatally shot Allison, who had ran outside to help her sister, before running off. Maeve was unable to save her sister despite her best efforts. This trauma continues to haunt her.
At this point, everything and everyone that Maeve had loved was gone. She struggled with the death of her twin sister and the ensuing realization that without her, she lacks the “street smarts” and social skills to survive on her own Maeve was so busy trying to help other people that she never learned how to help herself. She decided to pack up what was left of tiny apartment in Vice City and travel to Los Santos in search of a better life. With such proximity to Pillbox Medical Center, perhaps she could rekindle her love for learning to practice medicine.
Upon arriving in LS, Maeve resorted to working odd jobs around the city for a month so that she could afford her very own motorcycle. Upon recommendation by Officer Scott Ridley, she was hired by Dr. Charlie Jannetty as an assistant with the Los Santos Medical Group on November 4th, 2020 with the ultimate goal of becoming a doctor.
Moving to Norway[]
On July 30, 2022, Maeve said her goodbyes to Los Santos. After 2 long years, she would be packing up her Alta Street apartment and heading on a one-way flight to Kirkenes, Norway. After some introspection, and many texts from Randy Bantham, she realized that she was hated amongst many EMS and couldn't stay in LS anymore knowing that she made others miserable. She sent individual letters to her closest friends, thanking them for their time together and wishing them well.
