Flop Dugong is a character role-played by ChrisTombstone.

General Description[]

Flop Dugong is a mechanic for Harmony Repairs Garage.

Background Information[]

Flop Dugong was born and raised in Florida. Being from such a beautiful place, he loved going to the beach, spent a lot of time on a boat, and had a huge fascination with the Dugong species. He always aspired to be one.

The ideal fascination for Dugongs was platformed from his time spent on the family boat with his father, Mark Dugong. Being on the water, scuba diving, and his love for the water was a growing love with the life surrounding the beautiful waters. It led Flop into wanting to know more.

School was difficult for Flop to say the least. He was more interested in learning about Marine Biology more than he was making friends. Flop did his best in classes, but never excelled in anything, including science. As much as he aspired to know the beautiful waters, he never found his niche with it. Although Flop never made proper friends that he could hang out with after school, he always figured everyone was his friend, and follows that same ideology today.

Flop Dugong's parents were both average workers with their own aspirations in mind. Flop Dugong's mom, Eleanor Dugong, was an unfortunate addict, and was a common user to crack. She found herself down the rabbit hole with drugs shortly after giving birth to Flop, and after many failed attempts at going clean, led her to an unfortunate drug deal that went bad with her dealer. She was pronounced dead from a shooting. Before her unfortunate death, she was a dishwasher at a crabhouse called "The Crabby Surprise" on the boardwalk.

Flop's father, Mark Dugong, was a very good father, and worked as a deep-sea fisher on a charter called "The Moist Oyster" that supplied most of the fresh seafood to many of the restaurants that ran along the Florida boardwalk. When Eleanor passed, Mark was sent into an unfortunate spiral and became a very heavy alcoholic. After having a disconnect with most of Flop's important years, he was scheduled to go on a weekend-long deep sea trip for the summer tourists. At the end of that weekend, Flop's father never made a return. Search parties were sent out in hopes to find pieces of a wreck. With nothing found, Mark Dugong was pronounced dead.

When Flop's parents both disappeared, he received a check from one of his parents' Will in his name so he could move to Australia, which was his dream. Unfortunately, it was too expensive so he hedged his bets and moved to Los Santos.

Flop and Guns.[]

Because of Flop's history with his mother's murder, he never wanted to go near a gun. The idea of taking somebody's life is terrifying to Flop considering the severity of his mental state with how he was raised without a mother, and doesn't wish it upon his worst enemy.

Since his 'oath', Flop has found himself being labeled things such as '#1 Hostage' and so on, considering the amount of times he has found himself defenseless and in the trunk of a car. Flop realizes the mutual agreement going through a robbery, and accepts it as that. That idea of being face-to-face with the gun wasn't what 'set' him off though.

Flop followed through with a private investigation with a group of people called 'The Scarecrow's' in order to help a close friend, and unfortunately got hurt in the process. The idea that Flop came out of the ICU unaware of what happened, with no recollection of anything other than water in his lungs and a fractured skull, he is certain it was an attempted murder more than anything. The idea that he had no form of defense and that these people could still be on the loose is anxiety at it's highest form. Since then, Flop has had a gun on him, but fears the day to ever pull the trigger

The Illuminati/Imperium.[]

Flop became a sleeper agent for Thomas Dwayne after taking part in a hypnotherapy session with Bryce Miller and Alexa Caldwell trying to help Blake Buckington. He was approached by Thomas a few weeks later to set up a private meeting with his dad Richard Dark in Mirror Park. He was told that he was going to relay important information to Dark and that everyone would be safe while Thomas was watching over the conversation.

After starting the meeting with his dad, a black van rolled up and kidnapped Dark leaving him in the park. While Flop was left alone and panicking, Dark was being tortured by Thomas and Carl Crimes leaving him in the ICU for a long time.

A few days after the event, Thomas contacted Flop convincing him that he caught the people responsible for his dad kidnapping. He also convinced him that the organization that prepared the attack had now their eyes on Flop and that he needed to join The Illuminati as a prospect to be protected. He was assured that he wouldn't need to participate actively in the events of the group, but would need to join on meetings and observe.

First time in Jail[]

On September 29th, 2020, Thomas Dwayne was ambushed by James Apeller, August Vakarian, and Kenneth “Mr. Smiley” Jesperson after August tricked Thomas and Flop to a meeting. Flop had to go sell a car for PDM and only Thomas went to the meeting where he was kidnapped and tortured by Mr. Smiley. Following the event, Flop called August to get some answers. After months of torment by Mr. Smiley and August, he gave her a chance to explain, but she fell to prove to him that she was "reformed" in his eyes. Flop came to a breaking point, making him stab August. He was arrested right away and went to jail for the first time.

When he got out of jail, Apples and Lot Q gunned him and Izzy down in front of the prison putting them in ICU. His family and friends, even if they were disappointed, showed a lot of support and hope in his ability to turn his life around (especially Calogero Vercetti, Claudia Gartner, Izzy, and his dads, Matt Rhodes and Richard Dark). Flop is currently on a path of redemption, even thinking about eventually joining the PD like the rest of his family.

Relationships[]

Relationships
Al Saab

Saab took Flop under his wing when he arrived in the city and gave him a job at Bad Boy Customs. Flop looks up to him and often asks him to advise about his personal life. He was the first person Flop told about his dad's kidnapping. After a kidnapping from the people of Garage Q, Flop was questioned by Saab (with Ellie Dono and Lang Buddha), resulting of them finding a suspicious text on Flop's phone. They decided to execute Flop and Saab fired him a few days later from BBC, straining their relationship.

  • Calogero is very protective of Flop, seeing him as a little brother.
  • Calogero has been there to support Flop in key moments of his life in Los Santos.

When Richard Dark got kidnapped and went to ICU for a long time, Flop and Matt became closer but are sometimes still at odds. Flop trusts Matt and often turns to him for delicate matters but it doesn't stop him from making fun of him and his 'citation szn'.

  • Whenever Flop calls Matt, Matt either ignores his calls due to being busy or forgets to call him back.
  • Matt is very protective over Flop even if he doesn't show it in front of him.
Richard Dark - Adoptive Father

Richard Dark is a father figure for Flop. He also adopted him without telling his husband, Matt. Flop cares deeply for Richard and feels guilty about getting him kidnapped and tortured. As of recently, the two hold tension as Richard has been giving him the silent treatment after being admitted out of ICU. The two talked over the phone after Flop heard about Richard, but was denied seeing him due to things 'being complicated'. They were estrange for a few months but they since reconnected and are working on rebuilding their relationship.

  • Flop was the reason why Richard was in ICU for over a month and a half.

The two are often compared to one another as they have 'similar voices.' Flop shows a respectful side towards Ryan while knowing about the rumors going on around them, although, Ryan often yells whenever he sees him. As of recently, Flop payed Bryce $15,000 to make a diss track on Ryan, where he later found out that Ryan was paying double to make another diss track on Flop.

Sydney Bearmont

Flop considers Sydney like a sister.

They became closer after Sydney was targeted by the group "The Scarecrows". She was the first person on who Flop pulled a gun on in order to protect her and stop her from doing harm to herself.

  • Flop often checks up on her whenever he has the chance to drop by in Mission Row.
Tessa Lamb

Flop sees Tessa as a close friend and her "aunt".

They became closer when Flop decided to tell her about the events that led to Richard Dark's kidnapping. Tessa sees a young Matt Rhodes in Flop. Like Bryce, the two are often seen together.

  • Tessa told Flop about Matt's past at the recycling center and what happened to him.
Premium Deluxe Motorsport

On June 10th, 2020, Flop found out he was fired from PDM as a result of no prior training or sales under his name. When asked, he said that Flop was waiting for someone to train him but with no-one around, he was unable to do so. The day before he was fired, he asked Auggie Stitzler to train him - which he agreed, but afterwards got busy. Auggie told Flop that he would train him the next day, but by the time Flop woke up, he discovered he was fired. A few weeks later, Robert Locksley hired Flop back.
