Description[]

Valerine is a quiet, kind-hearted individual who sometimes lets her punker ways give her a bit of a mean streak. Often seen wandering the city or out drinking at various bars, she is a friend to those who need it and a bit of a troublemaker at times. Sometimes appears somewhat emotionally distant and is not quick to talk of her past beyond some small tidbits that she is comfortable sharing. She is sometimes upset at the fact that few she considers friends want to stick by her side and that many people she has helped find their footing end up forgetting her in time.

Life before Los Santos[]

She grew up torn between the east and west coasts. Most of her school years were spent in San Fierro with her mother, while she spent her summers in a small logging town in Upstate Liberty with her father. Her mother remarried when she was a teen and with it she gained her only sibling, a step sister by the name of Victoria Werner. When Victoria ran away from home after a couple of years sharing a room, Val blamed herself for driving her away. Before initially moving to Los Santos she spent years partying and lost a close friend and party companion on a trip to Mexico. While working for her father in the months prior to returning to Los Santos for the second time, her father put most of her earnings into a savings account. He then lost all this money in the stock market, enraging Val to the point of changing her last name to that of her mother and moving back to Los Santos to get a fresh start.

Vehicles[]

BMX - The bike that started Val's journey, was once used for doing backflips at various skate parks around the city when she was between jobs.
Scorcher - Was meant for riding trails up north but remains forever chained up at Dean World.
Burrito Van - Won in a raffle after a couple weeks in the city, was her main form of transportation for nearly 6 months, now is used for metal detecting storage.
Seashark - Purchased after winning 20k at the casino, was used mostly for metal detecting at beaches and going fishing up north.
Esskey - Purchased after months of working the markets. She rode it to replace her van as her vehicle of choice, often seen off-roading or parked at whatever market booth she's working.
Phoenix "PAP46"- Purchased after putting in many long hours as an EMS and after winning 50k at the casino. Used as an around the city vehicle. Has her EMS callsign on the plate and is often parked in the Pillbox garage when she's on duty.
Ruiner "RUINME"- Purchased reluctantly on the hunt for something to put a drift kit in. After a few days of driving it she fell in love with the car, wondering why she hadn't pulled the trigger on purchasing one sooner. The Ruiner was Val's first and currently only A class vehicle. On August 13th 2022 she was able to get a drift kit installed in it, which was one of the happiest days of her life.
Romero Hearse "DEATHCAB"- Purchased during October from Benson's Backalley Motors as a gift to herself. She had been wanting a Hearse since learning that there were a couple others that were owned in the city. She spent the entire month of October only driving the Hearse around while off duty.
Ambulance "HEALSLUT" - Purchased a couple days after she got her Hearse. It had originally belonged to Odessa Glafx and still has the license plate of HEALSLUT as she couldn't bring herself to change it.
Avarus - Purchased in Jan 2023 to be her daily riding motorcycle. She had wanted a chopper to replace her Esskey that at that point was trapped in a locked garage.

Trivia[]

Constantly has struggled with money throughout her life in Los Santos and has a bit of a spending problem. In the past she spent money almost as quickly as she made it. She never had more than 40k in her bank account until she took a loan to buy her Esskey in mid 2021, then never had more than 100k until she took another loan to buy her Phoenix at the start of 2022. Prior to getting her drift Kit in August 2022 she had amassed 380k. Before getting her Hearse at the start of October she was nearly 100k Short of the roughly 350K needed and had to take a loan from a coworker. Currently the most money she's ever had at one time is 475k right before Christmas 2022. She's yet to break a half a mil in the bank.
Valerine often battles loneliness and feelings of being undervalued by her colleagues. She tries to fill this void with work causing her to at times have a very unhealthy work ethic.
Stops dyeing her hair to save money when she's financially hurting more than usual.
She started wearing cat ears on duty as EMS to cheer up her patients and wore them most of the time until she didn't like the way the headband made her hair look.
Valerine is a recovering drug addict that has at one time used or abused more drugs than she can remember. While she cleaned up mostly before moving to Los Santos she sometimes has a bit of a drinking problem. She considers working and drifting as her major addictions nowadays and steers clear of any illegal drugs except for one offs at parties.
When Valerine drinks she likes to run. She used to run laps around Mirror Park Lake after trips to the Tavern. This once lead her to blacking out and waking up in the tunnels near Mirror Park surrounded by empty beer bottles after spending St Patricks 2021 there.
While not having many tattoos she has bones tattooed on the backs of her hands and a wristband of S.O.S. in Morse code around her left wrist.
Valerine doesn't like to show much skin. This is to hide the scarring on her body, some of these scars include
- Burn scars on her hands from a cooking accident, which is why she almost always wears gloves.
- Surgery scars from breaking her right collarbone as a teenager.
- Various small scars on her arms and legs from a cat she owned as a teenager.
- Various road rash scars on her upper back and legs from motorcycle accidents.
- Scars on her left arm and shoulder from being shot on duty.
- Burn scars across her stomach, left side, thighs and lower back from her ambulance exploding during an attack on a triage point. Some of these scars she had previously from a house fire she survived when she was younger while some are overlapping from the attack. Along with a jagged scar on the left side of her neck and another jagged scar on her lower back from taking shrapnel in the same attack on her ambo.
Valerine doesn't eat meat unless it's poultry or fish. She once tried to force her body to handle red meat but ended up with a B-12 deficiency from abusing antacids.
Used to tell people that she voted for Trish Baggs because she knew what it felt like to be a vending machine, this once made a room full of mechanics fall silent.
Valerine has a pet rock named Roxanne that she carries everywhere, and a pet fish named Benny that lives in a tank at her apartment. She Also has a pet Scorpion named Clamps in a terrarium next to Benny's Tank
Valerine doesn't hunt as she is an animal lover and considers hunting a form of animal abuse. This caused her much inner turmoil when helping out with Mountain Rescue. She does fish and over time has adopted a catch and release method to fishing as she started to feel bad that she hurt fish more than she should while owning a pet goldfish.
Valerine dislikes most guns, but loves shotguns. She would have never gotten her weapons license if it hadn't been for being told she needed one to protect herself at the markets. She refuses to get her Class 2 License unless she can get a shotgun.
Valerine once shot a mountain lion on Mt Gordo as it was charging at her. She considers it to be one of the biggest regrets she has about ever carrying a gun.
Spent a month living on Chiliad to make peace with the mountain lions, heal emotionally, and to reconnect with nature. This was after being denied the ability to own a pet cat due to her money situation and being stuck at Alta at the time.
Was banned from adopting from Paleto Pets in March 2022, in July through September she attempted to get unbanned but was only told they'd look into it on every occasion. On Oct 31st, 2022, she had learned through others asking employees, as she was too afraid to ask directly, that she had been taken off the ban list. The next day she had herself re-added to the waitlist when she purchased Clamps her scorpion. Despite this she was Unable to get a pet for Christmas 2022, and days later found out Paleto Pets was unwilling to adopt to her until 1 year after the initial ban.
Valerine often finds it easier to talk to animals than the people in her life, while meditating on Chiliad she often converses with the mountain lion that patrols the ridgeline nearby and named her Rori. While farming she often speaks to the birds and rabbits that frequent the area.
Got 3rd Place in an Overboost Drift Competition in her Ruiner narrowly losing to Eddie Marshall in his R-35 during the semi-finals.
Valerine was one of the firefighters that rushed into the fire that burned down Viceroy Medical Center, during this she recovered a body of a doctor trapped by the administration office and was nearly trapped inside herself. She crawled through vents to the outside while dragging the body with her. A day later she found out the body she recovered was most likely Ricky Minton according to the timeline of the rescue and took the news hard. She drank until she was blackout drunk and drove a stolen gokart off the Mirror Park Dam, this resulted in her dislocating her shoulder.
