Devon “Dev” Jones is a character role-played by kritacul.
Family[]
He is the son of Latesha & Earl Jones. Both parents grew up on Forum and had many friends in The Families.
Background[]
His parents were married young and had Devon while both still were in their late teens. The two split when Devon was five but never divorced. Latesha had a drug and drinking problem and never got help. Earl got a great job and moved to Vinewood Hills. Devon spent most of his time with his mother because of his friends, but attended private school because of his father.
Growing Up[]
Devon would see his father every other weekend and their relationship faltered the older Devon got. School was always a mixed bag for Devon. He was very knowledgeable in many subjects, but lack of focus and attention was an issue. The other issue was his aggression he had with other students. Devon was much bigger than his classmates and was treated like an outsider.
Devon hung out with friends a lot but never joined any of the gangs. He didn't want to have to choose between his friends. He would find trouble with them and would end up in juvie many of times over for small stints. He learned how to lock pick doors, hotwire cars, and became rather good at shooting.
Semi-Turn Around[]
At the age of 17, Devon entered his senior year of high school. One day the high school football coach saw all 6'0" 215 lbs Devon walking through the hallway and stopped him. Asked him "Have you ever played organized football before?". Devon replied "No". The coached asked him "Come out and give it a try." Devon did and was a natural to it. He end up becoming All-State, had so many scholarships to the big name schools and was one of the most popular kids in school.
The Fall[]
Sadly the day of Devon's graduation, he and a few friends from school went and celebrated early, had too much to drink and raced back for graduation. Devon was driving and wrecked the car. Two of his friends died, one was paralyzed and Devon broke his right femur. He lost his ride to college and spent six months in jail for manslaughter.
Devon was released and found out that his friend that was paralyzed was bullied harshly and took his life. Devon found out who the bullies were, gathered them up at one of their homes, robbed the home and tortured them. He called 911 and waited for the police to come. He received 4 years in State Prison for Attempted Murder four times and robbery.
Grove Street Family[]
The Beginning[]
After getting out of prison, Devon went to where his mother lived on Forum. He found an eviction notice and no clue as to where she could've gone. He stood on the corner and wondered what to do next and that's when OG Dexx Martin approached him. He spoke for a little while and Devon decided to join GSF.
