The Everlasting Clowns of Humble Origins (ECHO) was a short-lived cooperative of clown associates in Los Santos who favored a strong communal bonding and unbreakable reliability between fellow clowns.
Background / Formation[]
After the five-year Clown/Mime War, the many war-weary clowns returned to Los Santos and found themselves trying to pick up the pieces of their former lives together. Old grudges from the war between clowns were not forgotten, and fighting, even violence, between clowns for various reasons occurred. In the wake of this conflict, one group of clowns decided to form an organization to unite the clowns called the New Clown Order (NCO). Although this organization gradually attracted many clown participants, the structure and attitude of the group was not well-received by all clowns.
Some clowns felt that the old ways were better, in particular a structure with fewer leaders and punishments. As one example, Moose Knuckles had been skeptical of the NCO from the beginning, and when he asked for time to think about signing the NCO Clown Code and to get over some personal issues, he was stabbed by Stumbles Fumbles, who sat on the board of Elders of the NCO. As another example, Lily Night-Sky was consistently talked down to at meetings she was asked to attend to discuss the NCO's Clown Code, even demanded to be "silent" like a mime. Finally, Happy D'Klown, after reluctantly conceding that some of the ideas of the NCO were good and tentatively agreeing to peace, was brutally attacked by Miniphone for being a draft dodger. Although Happy shortly forgave this event, his skepticism of the ability for the NCO to make peace returned.
As a result, several clowns decided to shun involvement in the NCO and form their own clown union. Moose Knuckles was instrumental in having discussions with Happy, Lily, and Kirk Jerkems, a former clown named Janky, about this new organization. In addition, Pico Pingafria stated to BoomBoom that he and Kirk had been discussing a clown group different from that of "those four knuckleheads". The organization would be a community of clowns which "had each other's back no matter what", as Moose Knuckles put it. It would be an independent cooperative with a Clown Code of its own, free of the influence of the NCO leadership. Leadership was suggested to be the one Elder, although discussions are ongoing.
On January 16th, 2024, several members decided on the name "Everlasting Clowns of Humble Origins", or ECHO, to symbolize that true clown origins come from much earlier in history than some other clowns would imply.
In early February, 2024, Moose Knuckles effectively dissolved ECHO when he acquiesced to the NCO after making peace with Chatterbox and other NCO clowns. Moose Knuckles formally signed the NCO Clown Code on February 20th, 2024.
