Ethyl Winkelfiddle was a character role-played by mikfoolery.
General Description[]
Ethyl Winkelfiddle was an elderly civilian battling dementia.
Background[]
Ethyl Winkelfiddle was the elderly matriarch of a large family in Wiscasota, United States. When her favorite daughter Sawyer went through with a high-risk pregnancy and died from giving birth to Rue Day, Ethyl blamed it on Rue and considered her evil. Ethyl was long suspected to have set the fire that burned down her own sister's house, almost killing a 3-year-old Rue who had been alone inside. Ethyl scapegoated Rue for several other family tragedies, spreading her superstitious belief that Rue was a curse to them. Ethyl abandoned the family and built a new life in Los Santos, where she worked for a variety of different businesses, made several new friends, and made movies. Rue stalked Ethyl in Los Santos and kidnapped her, but didn't have the heart to shoot her when she mistook Rue for Sawyer. Rue instead made her leave Los Santos.
History[]
Ethyl's granddaughter Rue Day moved to a rebuilt Los Santos with her new crew, the Raiders MC. While she was out of town investigating whether Ethyl had died, Ethyl returned to Los Santos and reconnected with old friends.

Ethyl confessing to Lane before being murdered by Finn
March 25, 2024
On March 25, 2024 while Rue Day was out of town, her boyfriend Finn Milton, along with his ADMC club members Fey Flowers, and Jason "JT" Tyrell kidnapped a drunken Ethyl at knifepoint at her old house in front of her friends Sooty Gamwich and Keith Herman. During Finn's confrontation of Ethyl on a rainy beach, she doubled down that Rue should have never been born. Finn cut off one of her fingers with the knife Rue had given him to use on Ethyl.
Rue's Raiders MC president Darcy Lane arrived at Finn's invitation, and asked Ethyl whether she had set the fire that almost killed Rue as a baby. Ethyl confessed she had waited for her sister to leave the house and then intentionally set the fire to try to murder Rue. Infuriated, Finn stabbed Ethyl, set her on fire, and ocean dumped her. Ethyl's dead body wound up in the hospital as a Jane Doe, where Ava Deveraux performed the autopsy. Officer Callista Bell later identified the body as Ethyl's. RMC prospect Wally West agreed to safeguard the murder weapon for Rue, and Lane urged her to hide Ethyl's finger which Rue had been holding onto as a keepsake.
