Description[]
Elias gets told a lot that he's "too nice for this city", a former professor of mythology who came to Los Santos after leaving his old life under unfortunate and mysterious circumstances. Over his time in Los Santos he has seemingly overcome his natural cowardice and aversion to forming strong bonds with people and has become a well-known and dependable civ. He jokingly refers to himself as 'half a local' because he rarely leaves Little Seoul anymore.
Despite his mainly contented and passive attitude about life in the city, he is still working on his lingering fears of just about everything, and has vowed to say yes to every new opportunity that presents himself. A vow that has gotten him in trouble several times and led to a number of questionable and dangerous situations. Elias is taken hostage often, and goes along willingly and happy for the experience; he prides himself on being an ideal hostage and offers snacks, enthusiastic support, and sometimes impromptu poetry recitals to his kidnappers.
He gets along with people for the most part, but due to his vow to say yes to opportunities he is often taken advantage of by those in Los Santos that don't share his sense of justice. His propensity to place himself in dangerous situations purely for the joy of the experience has landed him in pillbox multiple times; and he keeps a running tally of all the times he's been shot, stabbed, set on fire, blown up, and other frequent occurances. He is absolutely reckless with his personal safety and his finances, which he barely maintains with his full time employment at UwU Cafe and supplemental jobs around the city.
To Elias, apparently, being helpful or useful is more important than being morally or ethically 'right' or 'good', and is just as quick to participate in dangerous, illicit activities as anything else, but has thus far proven himself to be a barely competent criminal. Elias however seems to prefer civ life on the fringes of the criminal world, brushing against the dangerous underworld of Los Santos without ever really getting too deep. Other than occasional motorcycle racing or periods of grinding oxy when his addiction to painkillers gets out of hand, he manages to stay mostly clean.
Despite working almost all the time he is in the city, he is perpetually broke because of his tendency to give money and possessions away all the time; often giving nearly the full content of his bank account to friends and coworkers whenever they complain about being down bad.
Elias was informed he was voted 'sexiest voice in the city' along with Gabe Navarro - though whether this title is official, or just Gabe messing with him, he isn't sure.
You can often find Elias helping newcomers to the city learn the ropes, hosting open mic poetry nights at The Rooster, talking to disinterested strangers about classical mythology, or keeping an eye on things at UwU Cafe where he has the job title "Poet", which seems to come with the responsibilities of a floor manager.
