Douglas Loftis appeared on the mayoral ballot for January 2024, under the Plembins party label. He received 0 votes after 'forgetting to vote for himself' due to being in his hotel watching Skinemax.
He appeared on the ballot again in April 2024, this time as an independent. At the Mayoral Candidate Debate he arrived at the very end, having walked across the island, getting lost, not being able to get into his emails, and then queueing with the people asking the candidates questions.
