Dolphin Records is Los Santos based record label, founded by Don Dolph.

Origins

When Don Dolph first arrived in the city, he was keen to remain an independent artist before making any decisions on signing to any record labels, during which time he struck up friendships at both MDM Records and Wu Chang Records, making songs with various artists, performing at events as well as creating his own EP and throwing his own EP Launch Party with Elle Queenie.

On July 4, 2022 Don initially agreed to sign to MDM Records as an artist for $300,000. However, following some organizational issues at MDM resulting in his written contract and sign-on pay not being delivered, as well as concerns the label is primarily run by Mandem gang members with outside priorities, rather than full-time civilians who can commit to the running the label 100% - Don began to rethink his decision.

On July 7, 2022 Don attended a meeting with Mr. K and P Money at Wu Chang to discuss his options with the label beyond an artist position. P Money brought up Mr K's long held desire for a sister label to Wu Chang, this aligned with Don's own desire to have his own label one day. The proposed label would be fully independent and run by Don, but would retain full access to all the services and ammenities within the Wu Chang Records building, as well as a $500,000 investment from Mr. K himself. P Money added $300,00 into Mr. K’s investment to add to the total of an $800,000 investment.

After taking some time to weigh up his options, Don decided to take Mr K and P Moneys offer and work began to create Dolphin Records.

Signings

Don Dolph as founder and owner was the first artist on Dolphin Records. The back catalog of music he released as an independent artist since arriving in the city, including his E.P. Far From Home, are now under Dolphin Records and regularly play on the in-city radio.

The first official outside signing to Dolphin Records was Winter Sison on August 13, 2022.
