Cypress Flats is an industrial estate in the district of East Los Santos in Los Santos. It is bordered by the neighborhoods of La Mesa to the north, Rancho to the north west, Banning to the west, Elysian Island and Terminal to the south, and Murrieta Heights and El Burro Heights to the east.
Overview[]
The industrial estate is centered around Popular Street, a prominent thoroughfare running from north to south and hosting some of the largest warehouses and industrial facilities in the vicinity.
Spanning approximately four distinct blocks, the area is delineated by defunct north-south railway lines, remnants of a once-active industrial railway network. These lines, now overgrown with vegetation in places, highlight the neighborhood's industrial history, converging at a sizable rail yard located at the easternmost edge of the estate.
Criminal Takeover[]
Presently, the area serves as a turf for the distribution of marijuana, dominated by the strain "Scooby Dooby" distributed by the criminal group known as Cypress, a name they gained for their prominence in Cypress Flats. Lang Buddha and Arush Patel Santana, two leaders of this group, acquired this turf on January 22nd, 2024, designating it as their primary location for weed sales, and were set against The Company and their rival strain of Zaza. The Company would later move their distribution operation to Sandy Shores, ceding the territory to Lang and Arush's crew, who have since remained as the uncontested owners of the turf.
Ever since Cypress gained control of the region, the LSPD, namely Den "Zel" Sheisty and his TRT, have led continuous street-level drug busts in an attempt to rid the area of its criminal inhabitants, but have thus far had little success at curbing the rampant drug trade in the area.
Events[]
- January 22, 2024 - Lang Buddha and Arush "Speedy" Patel Santana purchased the turf in the industrial Cypress Flats area, claiming this turf as the main weed selling block for the group that would later become known as Cypress.
- March 20, 2024 - Three blocks between Popular Street and Orchardville Avenue are replaced with new construction work.
- May 1, 2024 - First property purchased in Cypress Flats: Hanger Way #2 for $1.06 million by Lang Buddha.
