Claire Jessica Everly is a character role-played by LunaOni

General Description[]

Claire Everly is a former police officer from Liberty and is currently a Dispatch FTO for the Los Santos Police Dispatch, call-sign Delta-7. Claire moved to Los Santos in search of a fresh start and to reconnect with her older sister, Brittany Angel. Claire's life has always revolved around police & investigative work and she hopes to become an officer of the law again in order to continue her passion of helping others and keeping dangerous criminals off the streets. Claire is well known for her kindness and willingness to listen to anyone, always happy to help someone no matter who they are.

Physical Description[]

Claire is a Caucasian female, 5'7" with pale white skin, white hair, and deep blue eyes. Her white hair is one of Claire's most notable traits, a familial trait of unknown etiology. Her hair was often kept up and out of the way in a professional ponytail, rarely seen with it down. After a few months in the city, however, Claire cut her hair short after being stabbed (and in order to differentiate herself from her very similar-looking older sister Brittany Angel) and currently wears her hair in a short bob.

Her physique is slim and muscular thanks to her past in high-school track & field and as a tactical operative for the LCPD. She has some old scars across her body from gunshot wounds earned during her career as well as a scar on her left leg she received while being tortured by the Sanctuary Killer. Claire also has a tattoo of roses on her right arm that she got after the trauma of the Sanctuary Killer case in order to help her overcome her fear of flowers, the killer's signature.

Her personal style of dress is decidedly butch-leaning, falling somewhere between Noir Detective and Jessica Jones. Claire usually wears dark-rimmed prescription glasses but has been known to use contacts on certain occasions. A prominent signature of all of Claire's wardrobes are gloves, which she wears (and occasionally insists others wear) for "protection." Another classic Claire look is her tank top, affectionately referred to as "the booby tank."

Personality[]

The most notable feature of Claire's personality is the generally upbeat and positive energy she brings to every interaction, even with hardened criminals. Claire's outlook on life could best be described as reckless optimism, a stalwart refusal to let the horrors of life weigh her down. This behavior is often mistaken for naivety, while in reality Claire is anything but. This assumption of naivety and Claire’s beaming, innocent aura serve to hide a surprising guile that serves her well in her chosen career.

Claire’s empathy is another of her most noted traits, and she has a history of connecting to and opening up even hardened gangsters and murderers. Claire always tells people “We're all human at the end of the day” and this shows in how she engages with people. From petty stoners to grinning thugs, Claire believes almost everyone deserves a second chance.

Her aggressive side is well-hidden but still exists, peeking through during tense gunfights and high-speed pursuits. Claire's been guilty of over-celebrating gunfights with criminals, including keeping a running tally from time to time. She works hard to suppress this side of her, repeating her adoptive parents' lessons as a mantra.

The darkest side of Claire's aggression shows itself when dealing with a special breed of depraved criminals: serial killers. These types of people, to Claire, were almost always beyond saving. Prison never helped them, and their risk of escape was too great. She'd lost her parents to a serial killer, one that was never caught, and it burned inside her every day. When dealing with the Sanctuary Killer, Claire often fantasized about putting a bullet in the man's head and ending his rampage herself.

Despite her public-facing career choice and butch detective looks, Claire is at her core a shy and awkward bookworm. She tries her best in every interaction, but has a bad habit of sticking her foot in her mouth. She means well, and always apologizes profusely or tries to cover up her blunder with a bad joke. She misses out on most pop culture references her peers pick up on thanks to spending most of her childhood and teen years reading books, running on the track, or rolling d20s.

Her sense of humor is fairly well-developed, thanks to her past cheering up her detective father after work. She also boasts a famous self-deprecating streak, and Claire is more than willing to make herself the butt of a joke in order to get someone to laugh or smile. Claire is also a big fan of harmless hi-jinks with coworkers, from spontaneous taser battles to rubber bullet duels.

When her life isn’t revolving around her main hobby and career choice, investigative work, Claire is usually a homebody owing to her bookish roots and doesn’t get up to much. Except, that is, when it comes to cars. Thanks to her father Claire has a serious love for American muscle cars, as well as a small soft spot for imports. If she’s not in the garage fiddling with whatever car she’s fallen in love with that week, she’s on the road testing the limits of the engine and the local PD’s desire to write speeding tickets.

Background[]

Adoption[]

Claire was born to troubled parents, their previous children having been taken from the home for their own safety just a couple years prior. Thanks to a keen-eyed social worker, baby Claire didn't spend long under the roof of her abusive and drug-addicted birth family. Familiar with the family's history, the social worker contacted a pair of prospective parents who were friends with the adoptive parents of Claire's older sister Brittany Angel. These prospective parents, the Everlys, adopted Claire eagerly and thanks to their connections the adoption was processed quickly.

Childhood[]

Jesse Everly, a respected LCPD detective, and Emily Everly, an English teacher, were close to perfect parents for Claire. Her childhood was filled with good memories like playing with the family dog, family picnics at Middle Park, and cozy winter nights at home with fun movies. While she got along well with her parents, Claire and Angel's relationship was more fraught. When the Angels and Everlys met for family time, Brittany and Claire usually ended up arguing, which always left Claire upset and confused.

Despite the relatively happy home life, Claire's social life as a kid was almost nonexistent. An awkward kid, Claire never really fit in with the others, and spent all of her free time buried in books and daydreaming about becoming a cop. Claire struggled with bullies growing up, both due to her white hair and her nerdy demeanor. Jesse and Emily encouraged Claire to not let the negative perceptions of others get her down and to never be afraid to reach out with empathy. It worked, once, and Claire made her closest childhood friend that way, turning her from a bully to a buddy. Usually, though, the bullies just bullied harder and Claire went home depressed.

In high-school Claire had become used to her status as a pariah, giving up on earning the respect of her peers. Her teachers and coaches, however, were always impressed at the work Claire put in. High test scores and timely homework earned her a sterling reputation with school officials, but didn't help her at all in the eyes of her peers. Claire also excelled in track & field, spending long hours lost in the runner's high on the school's track.

Loss of Parents[]

While at home studying one winter night during high-school, Claire's parents were out on a date, relaxing from a particularly brutal case her father Jesse was working on. The Everlys never made it home that night, with their mutilated bodies being found in Middle Park by an early morning patrol. Claire's world spiraled out of control with the murder of her parents and she sought what answers she could from her fathers' fellow officers. Overcome by their own emotions, her fathers' coworkers let Claire too close, and she got details of the investigation that were burned into her mind.

Her father Jesse had been on the trail of a particularly cunning serial killer, one who seemed to strike abruptly and leave practically no evidence behind. Detective Everly had struggled with the investigation but was recently making headway. A slip-up had finally left physical evidence and Jesse was filled with a renewed fervor for the case, dedicating himself to stopping the relentless murderer. The chance never came, as Jesse and his wife Emily were murdered and detectives in Jesse's unit were convinced it was the same killer he'd been investigating. Now privy to case details, Claire made a firm resolution that she would dedicate her life to hunting down the type of criminals that took the life of her parents.

Claire, taken in by the Angels following her own adoptive parents' murder, was firmly dedicated to becoming a cop. Upon graduating high-school she attended Vespucci University in Liberty City and received a Criminal Justice degree. She applied to join the LCPD immediately after graduation, and thanks to her father's history in the department, she was readily accepted.

The Liberty City Arc[]

The Magdump Diaries

Claire's career in the LCPD was off to an auspicious start, with the young officer proving to be a capable shot and cool under pressure. Liberty was by no means a quiet city when Claire finished academy, with multiple gangs regularly embroiled in all out war on the streets. Traffic stops turned into gunfights with disturbing regularity, and Claire became all too used to shooting people and being shot. Claire always hated resorting to violence, openly regretting when her actions caused injury. Internally, however, Claire found herself celebrating when she performed well in a gunfight. An occasional fist-pump and celebratory cheer leaked through, but Claire always covered it up, feeling even worse about herself for celebrating people being hurt.

Her skill with an assault rifle and capacity for tactical thinking earned her the notice of higher-ups and Claire was soon invited to be an operative in a special inter-precinct task-force known as the Strategic Operations Division. Terrorist threats, hostage takings, fugitive extractions, high-profile robberies, these were the sorts of incidents the S.O.D. responded to. Claire found a certain thrill in this kind of police work, but deep down she yearned for the more contemplative investigative work her father did. Claire earned the rank of Sergeant while working in this division. It was a momentous occasion for Claire, earning the same rank her father had held at his death.

It was within the S.O.D. that Claire met the first person she ever fell in love with, her partner Lieutenant Alex Munroe, with the two women forging an intimate bond amongst the stress and gunfire of their day-to-day lives. Sgt. Everly and Lt. Munroe bonded over police work and shared trauma, spending their off time at the gun range or staying cozy at home. Serious relationships were new to Claire, but the future with Alex seemed bright.

The relationship, and the entire Strategic Operations Division, would come to an unfortunate and tragic end following a botched operation. The S.O.D. received word of a hostage held on a location, and had little information besides that. Responding to the call, Claire arrived on scene first and made eyes on the hostage bound and gagged inside. Overzealous, Claire rushed in unaware of the explosives in the room. Her more experienced partner, Lt. Munroe, recognized the threat but not quickly enough to prevent Claire from rushing in. She rushed in after her with fellow officers on scene following suit, grabbing Claire and the hostage and all but throwing them out of the room. Claire's entry had triggered a timer, and just as she and the hostage were thrown clear the device detonated. Munroe and another officer were killed by the blast, and both Claire and the S.O.D. never recovered. The division was mothballed and records buried, and Claire left with a dark cloud over her head. In one dramatic moment her love life and professional life had been shattered.

In Her Father's Footsteps

After the collapse of the S.O.D. Claire found herself in the LCPD's Major Crimes Unit, a special investigative unit that was called on for high profile murders, serial killers, and other serious violent offenses. Blood-soaked alleys, body parts in dumpsters, weeping families mourning the loss of a loved one, all of became standard for Claire's life in the MCU. As both a detective and a Sergeant, Claire was granted a leadership role within the MCU and helped run the division during her time there.

Claire was more than competent as an investigator, transitioning nicely from the high-octane mag-dump work of the S.O.D. to the more contemplative work required as a homicide detective. Claire was filled with immense satisfaction working as Sergeant Everly, homicide detective, just like her father. This helped to heal the wounds from Alex's death, and the collapse of the S.O.D. after it, leaving Claire with a renewed purpose in life.

In her work for Major Crimes serial killers were often on her radar, but in the early winter of 2019 a particularly disturbing and obsessive man began stalking the streets of Liberty City. After investigating what appeared to be his first murder, Claire had soon picked up the trail of this twisted killer. Claire eagerly sank her teeth into the case, completely unaware that this would be one that would change the course of her life forever.

The Sanctuary Killer

The Killer's Trail
Claire had become numbed to the blood and trauma of life as a homicide detective, but the scenes left by this new killer were particularly disturbing in their gruesomeness and content. Targeting mostly women, Claire picked up the trail of the killer following the investigation of a sex worker's body found dumped outside a church. More than just slain, the woman's body had been crudely carved upon, the number 1 carved into her chest along with a bible verse. Among the other evidence at the scene was a white rose left in the woman's hand, a seemingly harmless symbol, but one that would come to haunt Claire.

The investigation into the killer continued, with more women being found with numbers and bible verses carved upon their flesh. Again, bodies were left outside churches with white roses left in the hands. Claire chose the name "Sanctuary Killer" for her investigation. She couldn't remember where she got the idea for the name, but it seemed apropos given the choice of locations for his crimes.

The Sanctuary Killer himself soon became aware of Claire's investigation, even going so far as to watch her from a distance while she combed his scenes for evidence. His true ruthlessness became apparent after he brutally wounded and nearly killed an officer sent to investigate him when he was spotted watching one of these scenes from afar. After this, the investigation heated up quickly. Claire and the others knew he was out there watching them, bringing a heightened sense of urgency to their investigations. She had been right about the threat this man posed and was determined to bring him to justice.

Claire put in countless hours on the case, thankful she was paid overtime, spending far too much time in the office. After hours spent going over autopsy photos and case reports, including grim close-ups of mutilated bodies and bible verses carved into human flesh, Claire was filled with a cold determination to put the bastard that did these unspeakable acts behind bars. Or, if necessary, she imagined herself putting a gun to his head and pulling the trigger. Ending it that way, permanently. But Claire pushed those thoughts away and focused instead on finding justice the legal way.

The Sanctuary Killer's obsession with her escalated from merely watching her from afar to sending her depraved text messages from a blocked number. He sent her disturbing messages about "testing the purity" of "his flowers." He even stayed close to Claire, unbeknownst to her, following her around Liberty City in a yellow taxi, easily blending into the many driving around. Claire even began receiving anonymous deliveries of dozens of white roses, the obvious link to the case she was working on chilling her to the core. Claire's nerves were frayed thin as she hunted a man who also seemed to be hunting her. Her paranoia was in overdrive, and she was constantly looking over her shoulder. As if the case hadn't already become personal enough, it would soon become even more so when the killer started targeting her friends.

Now It's Personal

Miu and Destiny, Claire's best friends, soon found themselves victims of the Sanctuary Killer as well. Destiny, in a cruel irony, was kidnapped from outside SSPD shortly after talking to Claire. Claire had confided in her friend that she'd had a "bad feeling" after noticing the same yellow taxi cruising slowly past SSPD a bit too many times. It wasn't enough to protect Destiny, however, as Claire discovered when she called her friend to hang out later that night. Destiny never answered. To make matters worse, Claire's other best friend Miu Soledad, was also kidnapped by the Sanctuary Killer. More than just her friend, Miu was also the Medical Examiner and was directly assisting Claire in the investigation. Her kidnapping sent shockwaves through the PD and medical staff, leading to an even larger police response.

Claire received cryptic, horrifying updates on her friends as the Sanctuary Killer continued to taunt her from a distance. He texted Claire about his "flowers" being "tested" and "shown the light." One flower "wouldn't stop screaming" and had to be sent away. The killer told Claire that her friends weren't good enough for his tests, and that they had failed him. Claire was stressed to the breaking point by this enigmatic harassment, and pushed herself even harder in the hunt for this monster who had taken her friends.

On November 15th, 2019, while out searching for any sign of her kidnapped friends and the depraved man that had taken them, Claire found herself the target. It was late, well past midnight, and Claire was investigating the site of a newly built office building in East Hook. While searching the lower floors of the unoccupied tower the power was cut, leaving the detective in pitch black. Claire, flashlight in hand, attempted to make her way out of the building, radioing in to dispatch that she was finishing the scene and coming back. Before she could leave, she was struck from behind and knocked out cold.

Claire's Torture

Claire awoke and found herself trapped in the basement of the depraved serial murderer she'd been hunting. The Sanctuary Killer, revealed to be a man named Joe Buffalo, had Claire exactly where he wanted her. He began telling Claire that she was his perfect woman, that they were meant to be together. He told Claire he would cleanse her of her sins, and began this by repeatedly waterboarding her. Gasping and barely breathing, Claire struggled to maintain her grip on consciousness.

After waterboarding her, he demanded her to submit to him. Claire stubbornly refused, spitting at him, and swearing she'd bring him down. Buffalo responded by punching her repeatedly in the gut, and then waterboarding her more. When even this torture proved insufficient to break her, the deranged man turned even more violent. He stabbed Claire in the left leg with a hunting knife, driving it deep into the muscle of her thigh.

The searing pain of the knife in her thigh all but blinded Claire and she struggled to remain in control, to fight the urge to give in to either the madman with the knife or the relief that unconsciousness would bring her. Claire's anger rose instead, a fury driving her forward, and she cursed at Joe Buffalo, telling him she'd fucking kill him if she got free. Angered by her foul language, Joe Buffalo quoted scripture at her and then struck her repeatedly before waterboarding her again. As Claire was tortured, her radio lay in the corner, discarded by the killer. A transmission crackled through, and Claire heard her fellow officers searching for her, calling out for her. She listened to that radio and focused on it, and not the words of the disturbed man standing over her, whispering that he loved her and had to cleanse her.

Claire's anger never subsided, and she continued to fight against the killer that held her captive. Buffalo twisted the knife in Claire's leg as punishment for her continued resistance, telling Claire that he didn't want to do this but that she must be cleansed. Joe Buffalo called her his perfect flower, his "White Rose", and that she must be cleansed in order for them to be together. He told her that she would be cleansed and pass the final test, unlike the others, unlike the ones who failed him. Claire, horrified, begged to be free, telling him she didn't want to die. Buffalo told her to submit to him and his cleansing and she would be free, and Claire's fury rose again, spitting in his face again.

She told Joe Buffalo that her friends and fellow officers would come to her rescue, and that he had no chance. She cursed more and screamed that she'd kill him herself if she got free, swearing that she'd end his rampage and that he should hope the other officers get to him first. He scoffed at her and said no one would save her, that her friends had failed her.

Joe Buffalo was disappointed in Claire's continued use of foul language and resistance, and told her this final cleansing would rid her of all her sin and then she would truly be his "White Rose" if she managed to survive. Referring to her only as "Rose" now, Buffalo produced a small bunch of flowers and held them out to Claire. He told Claire that she may be beyond his help and that this final test would prove if she was the one for him.

Buffalo shoved the flowers, a bundle of poisonous Lilies of the Valley, into Claire's mouth and forced her to swallow them. Gagging, Claire tried to puke them up immediately, but failed, and soon found her body wracked with severe abdominal pain as her body digested the flowers. She was in agony as the poison coursed through her system, her heart palpitating and struggling to maintain a rhythm. Weakened, sick, Claire lay on the basement floor delirious from the poison. Joe Buffalo stood over her as she writhed on the cold concrete, reciting various scriptures and praying fervently. Claire's only thoughts were of her friends and coworkers, even her dead lover Alex, as the poison continued to work and she slowly lost consciousness. She fought Joe's twisted mind games to the very end, and as she slipped into blackness the last thing she heard was the sound of a door splintering followed by the shouts of the Liberty City Police.

Punished Claire

Joe Buffalo was taken into custody immediately, without incident, cuffed while continuously praying over Sgt. Everly's unconscious form. Medics rushed in after the madman was secured and hustled Claire out of the house, immediately supplying her with life-saving counteragents as she was transported to Schottler Medical Center. Doctors went to work treating Claire, helping her system purge the toxin with a blood transfusion from a fellow officer. Doctors worked overtime to restore a normal cardiac rhythm and ensure no significant damage was done to her heart. She regained consciousness quickly, ever the fighter, and began pushing to be released. The doctors were adamant that she stay 72 hours to monitor her cardiac rhythm as the poison often had lingering effects. Claire, far too stubborn to listen, managed to discharge herself against doctor's orders and went right back to SSPD to confront Joe Buffalo.

Barging into the interrogation room where Joe Buffalo had been kept the past several hours as other detectives grilled him, Claire had to be restrained as she flung herself at the man who had put her and so many others through so much trauma. Screaming that she would kill him herself if she got the chance and that he deserved to die, Claire had to be dragged from the room by her fellow officers. Claire's violent outburst shocked her friends, but they were shocked even more when Claire collapsed after her outburst. Claire had to be rushed to the hospital again, and this time was continually monitored until her heart had stabilized and her system was fully recovered from the poison.

Joe Buffalo was prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, Claire's detailed investigative work proving to be more than enough to help convict him when court came. The DA asked for life, and they got it, with Buffalo being locked up in the super-max section of the Alderney State Correctional Facility with no possibility of parole. Claire had won the battle with The Sanctuary Killer, but in the end was left with considerable scars that were both physical and mental.

Following the case Claire was left with a severe phobia of both yellow taxi cabs and flowers of any sort, but especially white ones. Her aggression also proved to be a nagging problem afterwards, with repeated combative outbursts that were very out of character for her. Claire attended therapy for some time afterward and eventually surmounted these problems after considerable time, even getting flowers tattooed on her as a way of coping with the trauma. But some part of Joe Buffalo would always linger with Claire, no matter what. She may not flinch at the sight of a yellow taxi cab or white rose anymore, but the memories still hadn't faded.

After the horror of the case Claire found it a struggle to return to work in Liberty City, with parts of the city proving to be a source of too many traumatic memories. Looking for a new start and a way to put distance between herself and the Sanctuary Killer, Claire transferred out to the State Police for a new chapter in her life.

The State Police Arc

Looking for an escape from the trauma associated with the Sanctuary Killer and other events that transpired in Liberty City, Claire moved out of the city for a job in the Liberty State Police. With her considerable experience as an investigator and a Sergeant, she had no issues with the State Police academy process and was soon back out on the streets doing what she loved. Claire performed well in her new position as a State Trooper, working on investigations and showing her talent in pursuits. Claire progressed quickly, regaining the rank of Sergeant in a little over a month of work on the streets. Claire's work as an NCO gave her real satisfaction, especially once she gained her FTO certification. She enjoyed taking cadets out on patrol and showing them the ropes, learning each persons' quirks and helping them with their progress to becoming full troopers.

Claire's work in the State Police brought her in contact with numerous gang members, many on whom had a very violent relationship with law enforcement. Claire's compassionate personality and earnest belief that everyone deserved fair treatment no matter who they were earned her a sterling reputation with the local criminal element. Many gangsters and robbers who would rather shoot at the cops than talk to them often turned to Claire for advice or help with the struggles they faced on the street. Claire dealt fairly with criminals she encountered them, cutting them slack on sentences if they were respectful or gave her a fun interaction. Claire earned the respect of many criminals in her time as a trooper, and was even downright cordial with some men who could be described as human cockroaches and super-villains. Claire never hesitated when the guns came out, though, and was always firm with criminals who got violent.

In her time as a member of the state police, Claire worked primarily in the Gangs Intelligence Division. She compiled extensive profiles on gang members with details on affiliations, nicknames, associates, drug use, and more. Her kindness and openness to talking to anyone she encountered was essential to this work, and before long she basically had a map of the gang network of the state she patrolled. Her work sometimes brought her back to Liberty, and during one case involving a weapons-trafficking cartel, she was kidnapped and taken to Middle Park. A place of deep emotional significance to Claire, due to both her childhood outings with her parents and it being the place where their bodies were found she was barely in high-school. There the cartel gunned Claire down with Gusenbergs and AK-47s, ripping her vest to shreds and leaving her bleeding out in a pile of gasoline they had set up. With a lit cigarette the gasoline went up, and a bleeding Sgt. Everly went up in flames. The flames blackened and ruined her uniform, and the bullet wounds left her near death. Rushed to the hospital she received life-saving care in the dingy Schottler Medical Center, and later awoke bleary and alone in the same ward as the men who gunned her down. Distraught, she stumbled out of the hospital to the few fellow officers who actually reached out to her after. This incident left Claire shaken and questioning her place in the department, but she ultimately continued her work in the gangs division, putting her skill with people and love of investigative work to good use. Ultimately the incident left a scar on Claire, more than the visible bullet wounds and flames did.

The incident in Middle Park, and further incidents that led to Claire's life being jeopardized, hit close to home for Claire and made her realize how alone she was without a family around her. She had some friends in PD but struggled with making more and forming close bonds. Work schedules and the hectic life as a member of the Liberty State Police made a real social life next to impossible for Claire. Claire focused primarily on her work as an FTO, training new cadets and teaching them to also remember to be empathic. "At the end of the day, we're all human" is something Claire liked to instill in her cadets. Despite this, Claire's loneliness was deep and she longed to reconnect with her sister Brittany Angel, whom she hadn't seen since her early days in the LCPD. Claire resigned from the state police and booked a flight cross country to San Andreas, looking to reconnect with old friends and family and start a new chapter in her life.

Major Events[]

Knight by Night

Claire's first day in the city was remarkably uneventful, with her avoiding being kidnapped or robbed. While talking to doctors at Pillbox Medical Center and getting the lay of the land, Claire was introduced to Cash Flash a local less-than-legal individual with a great deal of connections and knowledge.

Cash drove Claire around Los Santos, showing her hot spots like the Grove Street Gas Station, with Claire overhearing tons of vital criminal lore just standing around. Multiple people came up to Claire and offered to sell her weapons or drugs, with some even giving her free weed and meth (which she destroyed).

Later on Claire saw a notice about a Camaro auction at Legion Square, and Cash brought her to check it out. Without any money to bid, Claire merely admired the car from afar and participated in some people watching. It was there that Claire overhead Brian Knight talking about his private detective agency. Overjoyed at such luck, Claire strode right up to the man and introduced herself.

After a brief street interview wherein Claire revealed she had prior police experience and no criminal record in the city, Brian hired her on the spot. Brian told Claire that fellow Knight Hunter Nick Malone would serve as her FTO for the night, showing her the ropes. Nick brought Claire to the jobs offices, gave her the rundown on how the job works in the city, and then set out on patrol with her. Witnessing and recording multiple crimes, Claire's first night on the job was fairly uneventful.

Claire even scored her first ride, a Virgo, thanks to a down payment loaned to her by Nick. Unfortunately for Nick, while Claire was away finalizing the sale of her car, he was busted with weed in his trunk and taken to jail, leaving Claire to pick up a confused Knight Hunters intern Valerine Despres. That concluded Claire's first night in the city, and Claire went to asleep exhausted and overwhelmed.

Claire's PI work for the firm continued, working with fellow investigators Nate Martin and Edward Nygma when she was in the city. Her first big case involved poisoned boxes of cereal left throughout the city, a serious threat that needed immediate attention. Most notably Claire discovered one specific box of cereal in the Grove Street Gas Station that was ticking and seemed to have an explosive device within. Claire, no stranger to bombs, immediately steered clear and ordered others to do the same (they didn't). Claire reported the ticking box to the proper authorities, and eventually Olivia Copper passed by to pick up some food and informed her the "proper people are handling it." Convinced she'd done all she could, Claire continued looking for other boxes. Traveling across Los Santos hitting every major landmark, Claire and Nygma eventually found every box of poison cereal during their investigations with only two shortsighted people becoming ill after consuming the product.

Eventually investigative work dried up for Claire, with a new case relating to a Mr. Nine being too serious for a civilian to investigate, and she found herself looking for direction. After a lack of work and coworkers (besides Nygma) in the Knight Hunters, and following a new job opportunity within the DoJ, Claire left the seemingly-defunct private detective agency to start a new chapter in her investigative career.

A Lot of Questions

Among the many people Claire met in the city as she made connections and went about her private investigator work was Chief Justice Buck Stanton, who was initially suspicious and dismissive of Claire. Stanton proved untrusting of PD, and was even more wary of Claire when she revealed she was Brittany Angel's sister. Angel being a notorious critic of the DOJ had Stanton convinced her sister being in town was just going to cause more trouble for him. Claire, however, was eager to make friends with someone she assumed she would be working closely with in the future once she became a cop, and wouldn't let Stanton's first impressions stand. She bowled him over with her obvious empathy as well as her forthright attitude, and when she criticized the use of force she'd seen a nearby officer engage in, Stanton was very intrigued. Everly was quite different from her sister when it came to the DoJ, and she was somebody he thought he could work with. He invited her to meet him at the courthouse later for a chat.

The next day, at the courthouse, Claire had a meeting with Stanton and the other justices. It was there they discussed the formation of the DOJ's Office of Professional Responsibility, an office much like PD's Internal Affairs that would investigate corruption of lawyers and criminal activities relating to government contracts. They thought Claire was a perfect fit and would serve as the DOJ's in-house PI, investigating whatever came up.

Almost immediately Stanton tasked Claire with investigating Lot Q across the street from the courthouse, as it operated under a government contract, therefore any illegal activity there would be of serious interest to the Chief Justice and could be used to shut them down. Stanton had heard word of illegal employment contracts and outright extortion, as well as a variety of other illegal activity occurring on the lot. Going undercover using her middle name, since she lacked proper fake documents, Claire got a position as intern at Lot Q as "Jess" and began documenting what she could.

Throughout her undercover work at Lot Q, Claire discovered James Apeller aka "Apples" engaging in a variety of criminal behavior, including plotting the kidnapping of the Chief Justice's assistant Jean Steele. Hearing Apples and Sai Carter actively planning the kidnapping of someone, Claire had no choice but to fake being arrested by Johnathan Spartan in order to extract herself. She reported to Stanton immediately, who made sure Jean was safe, and her kidnapping was averted for the time being.

Claire continued her work investigating Lot Q for the DoJ, compiling details on the suspicious activity that seemed to continuously occur on the Lot. Alternating between being UC on the lot as "Jess" and monitoring the lot's activity from nearby rooftops, Claire's observations uncovered what appeared to be some suspicious weapons dealing and drug use.

In another undercover investigation of the Lot, Claire's desperation for hard evidence pushed her to get close to Apples. Faking selfies and "tik-tok videos" Claire tried to capture photographic proof of criminal activity, hanging around Apples as much as she could. She made note of a van Apples seemed to use to store weapons, even jotting down a partial plate in her notepad. Apples seemed distressed that day, and it was revealed his wife August Vakarian had recently been slain. Apples was distraught and intent on recovering her body from the morgue so he could see her given the proper respect. During this Claire overheard his plan to kidnap medical staff from Pillbox and use them as leverage to obtain August's body. After obtaining their private radio channel in her UC disguise, and observing the commission and discussion of criminal acts, Claire left the Lot intending to head home and write up a report.

No longer in disguise, Claire felt the urge to head back to the Lot after hearing a flurry of activity over the radio. Seeing a woman held at knife-point in the back of Lot Q, she called 911 and took photos from the only vantage point she had on the sidewalk, in plain view. Claire heard Apples on the radio demand someone "get rid of that girl watching us" and Claire did her best to deflect the suspicions of the masked man who approached her after. It was then that cops swarmed the Lot in response to the 911, and Claire used the chaos to slowly slip away, hearing Apples demand that the man talking to Claire "do more than just get rid of her." She eventually bolted, hearing the masked man report her movements as she ran back to her car sending a chill down her spine as she ran for safety. Claire got to her car and sped away with tons of information to compile, heading home to write up a report.

Following her close encounter at Lot Q and her growing reputation as the city thanks to her new position in the Los Santos Police Dispatch, Claire became nervous about continuing any investigation into Lot Q. She'd met numerous employees of the lot, including Bred Baker and Sai Carter, and their behavior around her concerned Claire and suggested they may be onto her. All doubts were washed away when Claire was called to testify in the court case Stanton brought against them. Stanton sought to suspend Jordan Steele's contract and funding for Lot Q entirely, and Claire testified before the court about the criminal acts she'd witnessed there.

The other side of the courtroom, packed with Lot Q employees and lawyers, bristled at the concept of the DoJ hiring people to investigate them and scoffed at the idea of "undercover dispatch." The entire staff and management of Lot Q now knew for certain Claire was "Jess" and that she was one of the main people responsible for their latest troubles with the court. Claire's anxiety skyrocketed, and once done testifying she slipped back into the courtroom gallery and stuck to Mina's side for protection. The court case proceeded loudly and erratically, and at the end of it all Lot Q was granted to Bred Baker for 30 days and Lot T was taken from Choi Stonefinger and transferred 50/50 to Jordan Steele and Jean Steele for them to run instead. They were ordered to keep a detailed paper trail and financial records for all state funding, and to let no criminal activity occur on their respective lots, with an assessment to come by the court at the end of the 30 days. Claire left the courthouse convinced members of Lot Q or T would exact some sort of revenge and spent the remaining days looking over her shoulder more than usual.

After the court case, while working at MRPD one day with Nancy Ree, she ran into Billy Travis, a fellow PI whom she briefly worked with on Lot Q early on in the investigation. Travis had been outside the city since then, so Claire eagerly filled him in. Travis was excited by the changes in the Lots and saw a new angle for the investigation, encouraging his wife Nancy to dress up and seduce lot owner Jordan Steele. The two eagerly left on their mission, and Claire awaited word. Later that night Claire received calls about an assault and a bloodied body related to Lot T employees, and was very concerned. The next morning Claire learned the awful news the Billy Travis was indeed dead, apparently killed by Jordan Steele in some sort of botched penis-donation surgery. Claire couldn't help but think it was related to the investigation despite the outrageous nature of the reports.

Following James Apeller being inexplicably assigned to do community service at MRPD by Judge Stanton, a group of Apples' associates from Lot T crowded the front of MRPD. Claire, focused on Apples, decided to follow the man and attempt to engage him in conversation. Not seeing the threat behind her, Claire was caught off guard when Drew Ragatoni, dressed as a zebra, snuck up behind her and stabbed her in the back. Claire lost consciousness from the shock and blood loss almost immediately, but thanks to amount of nearby officers, she was taken to Pillbox and treated quickly. The Zebra who stabbed her was caught by her sister Brittany Angel several blocks away, with Angel being completely unaware of the circumstances of the call.

The blade missed Claire's major organs but left a painful, jagged wound in her back that would take some time to heal fully. It required numerous stitches, which later became infected. Her favorite coat was shredded by the blade and stained by her blood and had to be repaired at a tailor. Claire was shaken by the attack, and spent further dispatch shifts inside MRPD for the most part, as well as preferring to stay on duty until Mina is done so they can go off duty together. Claire was unsure if further vengeance would be coming and continued to spend her days on guard.

Dispatch Days

Claire settled easily into her job as a dispatcher, her prior PD experience helping her adjust to the new job. She put in regular hours, clocking on whenever a spot was available, and soon developed a reputation as a "crackhead" among the dispatch team. Claire also developed a reputation for her friendly nature and helpful reminders about IFAKs and armor. Claire was always willing to go above and beyond to help with whatever the PD needed.

Her constant presence at MRPD introduced Claire to many people in the city, helping her to develop many connections. From a semi-friendly name rivalry with Claire Seducer to a downright adversarial relationship with Mike Block, Claire became well known in the city. Many grew to like and appreciate the friendly white-haired dispatcher who would always take their reports (even if she really didn't want to). Mike Block and Al Saab, however, proved less than receptive to her trollish demeanor. A few too many phone-calls full of taunting and banter led to numerous violent encounters with Mike Block, all following her being kidnapped by Mike and the Christmas Gang on Christmas Eve. Mike and the Christmas Gang took Claire to the home she shared with Mina and gunned her down following her failure to show "Christmas cheer" according to them.

Claire's phone taunting continued with noted underworld mover Al Saab, with the smart-mouthed dispatcher asking Saab if he "woke up feeling like P Diddy." A few too many phone calls like this led to a kidnapping by Al Saab where Claire was forced by him and his associates to dress up like Ke$ha, but was otherwise unharmed.

Claire was also one of the first approved PD ride-alongs, receiving original approval from Chief Bobby Smith after Senior Deputy Matthew Espinoz recommended her. She went on many ride-alongs with Espinoz as well as other members of PD including Sam Baas, Owen Svensen, Johnny Divine, and Rocko Colombo.

After a little over a month in dispatch, Claire was promoted to FTO and found herself teaching comms again, much to her excitement. Claire always enjoyed passing on skills and information and FTOing was one of her favorite ways to do that.

One highlight of Claire's time as dispatch was the night she was deputized along with Shane Jones, and the two patrolled the streets in uniform. Traffic stops, 10-80s, a lot of police work needed to be done and Shane and Claire got it done. With the only other cops in the city being Jack Ripley and Chet Manley, Claire and Shane had their hands full. After receiving word that Ripley had been shot at with automatic weapons in the Southside, Claire sprung into action. Relying on her old training, Claire scaled the ladder to the Mega Mall and took position on the roof. She immediately exchanged fire with the suspects on a rooftop in the distance, high caliber bullets flying. Her skill with the weapon and calm under fire served her well and Claire exerted control over the area around the Mega Mall. She soon found herself pushed multiple times by members of the The Families, but Claire repelled them each time. During one such moment her fellow deputized officer Jones was being pursued by members of the The Families and was forced into an alcove of the Mega Mall on ground level. Claire sprung into action and sprayed the car that pulled up on Jones, downing both occupants within seconds, and saving Jones' life. At the end of their shift, when the city was going dark, Claire and Jones were left the comments of Ripley and Manley, praising them for their exemplary service that night.

Relationships[]

Romantic Relationships[]

Mina Price - Fiancée

Claire met Mina her second week in the city, the two bonding over the complicated family relationships in PD. With Mina being Baas' daughter and Claire being Angel's sister, the two laughed and joked about complicated family trees. Claire told Mina that Baas had almost adopted her a few days ago when she first met him, to which Mina was extremely relieved he hadn't. Mina told Claire she dressed too much like her sister, and that she should let Mina take her shopping for new outfits.

Mina expressed an immediate interest in Claire, but Claire being Claire didn't pick up on the signals at first. After an adorably awkward phonecall where Claire mistook Mina asking her on a date as asking for the date that day, an actual date was actually planned. [1]

Their first date lasted a few hours and consisted of speed-boating around Los Santos and scuba diving at first, with Mina convincing Claire to just keep a knife handy in case sharks showed up. Afterward the two tooled around the city together, enjoying each others' company, and eventually popped by Pillbox to playfully tease the staff there and goof off with their flashlights. At the end of the night a second date was planned, and Claire went to bed happy but exhausted.

After their first date, Claire was in the unfortunate position of being undercover at Lot Q when Mina was taken hostage by Mel Rickenbacker. Claire had no choice but to risk breaking cover and fleeing the Lot in order to make a 911 call which led to an immediate police response, potentially saving Mina's life.

Following more time spent together hanging out & getting to know one another, Mina & Claire agreed that they weren't really interested in dating anyone else in the city and agreed to make their relationship official on November 12th. Since then Claire has moved all of her belongings and cars to Mina's house in Vinewood, partially due to real estate prices and partially due to just how well they've been getting along. [2]

Claire and Mina have been on regular dates since, including a mountain biking excursion that saw Mina saving Claire from a murder kitty in a unique way. [3] Their favorite past-time, however, is staying comfy at home with their two dogs. They enjoy playing video games together and spending cozy nights on the couch watching movies.

Much of their interactions happen on shift, with Claire dispatching while Mina is out patrolling. Claire is often left stuck at MRPD, unable to help, as Mina is regularly pulled into dangerous situations left and right. The feeling of helplessness Claire feels helps drive her in her goal of joining PD.

On January 24th, 2021, Claire orchestrated a surprise proposal at the spot of the first date with the help of newly-adopted son Sexton Hardcastle. After much panicking and stalling, Claire drove a blindfolded Mina to the spot, off-road in a Nightblade of all things, with Mina concernedly asking if Claire knew what she was doing the entire time. The bumpy ride was finished without major issues, and Claire revealed the location to Mina. Desperate for Mina to turn around so she could pull out the ring and kneel, Claire threw out a fake story about seeing dolphins nearby. It backfired, and Mina sprinted off in search of these non-existent dolphins instead of merely turning around. Claire gave chase, and, breathlessly, explained to Mina that she was trying to propose to her, and did just that. After an awkward pause, Mina said yes, but chastised Claire for lying about dolphins. [4]

A wedding was planned for sometime in the future.

Friendships[]

Anita Cox

Anita, a close friend of Claire's girlfriend Mina, warmed to Claire quickly and the two became fast friends. Anita and Claire's personalities meshed well, with Anita going so far as to ask Claire to be a bridesmaid at her wedding in the future. Anita, also a member of the BCSO, is another person in Claire's life who has encouraged her to join the Sheriff's department when she gets into academy.

Anita also turns to Claire for advice with her relationship whenever things get difficult between her and her fiancé, Henri King.

Johnathan Spartan

Claire and Spartan went through academy together in a different city, and were regular patrol partners during their shared time there. Spartan was one of Claire's favorite partners during her time there, and she considered him one of the best cops she's worked with. Reuniting again in Los Santos, they easily returned to their sibling-like trolling of each other as well as always being there if the other needed an ear.

Jeffrey Bundy

Bundy and Claire have developed a friendly relationship, with Bundy's more sedate nature balancing Claire's more rambunctious personality. Bundy once playfully robbed Claire of a few hundred bucks during a shift, claiming it as recompense for the numerous vests she's damaged with her rough-housing. Claire has expressed hope that Bundy and her go through academy together and possibly work as partners someday once they're both in PD.

Claire asked Bundy to be her "Maid of Honor" for her wedding after she proposed to Mina, to which Bundy accepted.

Familial Relationships[]

Biological Family[]

Brittany Angel - Sister

Brittany Angel is the long lost biological sister of Claire Everly, and someone Claire has always admired from afar once she learned of her existence, despite their somewhat tense relationship.

Claire returned to her sister Brittany's life on October 8th, arriving in Los Santos eager to reconnect. They finally reunited outside MRPD that day, Angel recognizing Claire from inside the lobby and rushing out to see her. Claire was excited at first, until Angel lit into her about coming all the way to Los Santos to "steal her job." Claire insisted she returned because she loved and missed her sister, but Brittany refused to believe her. Claire's older sister warned her that she wouldn't let Claire "steal her happy family" that she worked so hard to build, despite Claire's insistence that she wants nothing like that.

Angel insisted there was bad blood between the two, and that Claire had betrayed her at some point in the past. She accused Claire of stealing her boyfriend when the sisters were younger, something which Claire insists is a misunderstanding on Angel's part. Angel then berated her nephew and Claire's boss Brian Knight, telling him he should've known about the "bad blood" before hiring Claire. Angel then stormed off, leaving Claire confused and desperate for some way to smooth the relationship over.

In a later interaction Claire and Angel had a heated confrontation about the claim that Claire stole Angel's boyfriend long ago. Claire insisted she never slept with Angel's boyfriend, that she only went to visit him to yell at him. Angel claimed that if it wasn't for Claire she would probably be a millionaire still living in Liberty City. [5]

Since then Claire and Angel have managed somewhat cordial interactions, but Angel is still adamant that Claire has "betrayed" her in the past and is not to be trusted. Despite this, Claire was told that Angel recommended her for a dispatch position. [6]

Adrienne West † - Sister

Although Claire never met Adrienne, she had heard of her 2nd older sister's existence through people in the city and was privately excited to meet yet another new family member. Sadly, Adrienne was murdered by Mike Block before Claire ever got the chance to meet her.

Since meeting other family, namely Adrienne's daughter and Claire's niece Daisy Dukakis, Claire has come to learn that apparent DOJ incompetence led to Adrienne's murderer getting a slap on the wrist despite declaring his guilt and lack of remorse. This has filled Claire with a steely determination to seek out justice for her sister's murder.

In-Laws[]

Kyle Pred - Brother-In-Law

Due to differing schedules, Pred and Claire didn't meet for her first few weeks in the city, though they had both heard of the other. Claire was privately worried at meeting Pred due to rumors she'd heard about his lecherous behavior, and her allegedly troublesome encounter with a past boyfriend of Brittany's.

Since meeting Claire, Pred has alternated between hitting on her with innuendo she completely misses and insulting her with put-downs she's all too familiar with. Pred also seems to enjoy bringing up his intimate relationship with Claire's sister at every opportunity, disgusting and upsetting Claire when she actually manages to understand his pervy comments.

Adopted Family[]

Brian Knight - Nephew

Claire met Brian her first day in the city while visiting a Camaro auction at Legion Square. After overhearing him mention a detective agency, Claire approached Brain and struck up a conversation with him. Impressed by her confidence and the casual detective attire she was wearing, Brian hired her on the spot completely unaware of her connection to Angel. Brian sent his aunt Claire off to FTO with Nick Malone, another detective in his agency, and went about his own business, unaware of what he had just set in motion.

It was merely a day later that Brian learned of his relation to Claire outside MRPD when his adoptive mother, Brittany Angel, berated him for hiring his Aunt Claire knowing full well they have "bad blood." Brian stood by bewildered but unbothered by his Mom's distaste for his Aunt. Their relationship continued cordially, with Knight referring to her as a "veteran detective" of the Knight Hunters Detective Agency.

As a dispatcher Claire and her nephew Brian have worked together frequently, and Brian has assumed an adorably protective role over his Aunt Claire, once threatening Bundy over radio when he saw the fellow dispatcher testing his handcuffing ability on Claire. [7]

Dan Faily - Grandnephew

Dan was introduced to Claire on her first day after he smashed his patrol motorcycle into a car and went flying, much to her concern (and amusement). She didn't first speak to him until later on at Pillbox, when she approached him about becoming an officer in the city. Dan was the first cop Claire spoke to in the city and encouraged her to not be shy and to put herself out there. Later on in Claire's journey through Los Santos, it was revealed to her that Dan was in fact her grandnephew.

Daisy Dukakis - Niece

Claire met Daisy at QuickFix on November 12th, after having a small accident on her motorcycle. Slightly bruised and in need of repairs, Claire stopped at QF and ended up striking up a conversation with Daisy over her Mustang. After a brief conversation, it was revealed to the two that they were in fact related, as Daisy was Adrienne's daughter, making Claire her aunt.

Surprised, but excited for more family, Claire decided to hang out with Daisy for the day and the two ended up bonding quickly. Their shared love of cars helped ease their introduction. Later that day, Daisy even introduced Claire to the QF Jump aka "the fun way" to go to QuickFix.[8] After just a short time together it was clear the Aunt and Niece would also become friends.

Sexton Hardcastle - Son

Claire and fellow dispatcher Sexton work together often and quickly developed a friendly rapport during these many shifts. They spent many hours on the steps of MRPD discussing life and their hopes for their future in PD. Upon learning that Sexton was an orphan Claire declared that she was adopting him, and that she and Mina would be his moms.

Professional Relationships[]

Los Santos Police Dispatch[]

Rebecka Lovejoy

Claire and Rebeka have worked many shifts together and have formed a cordial working relationship that, although friendly, is rife with teasing. Claire regularly pretends to be faux annoyed with Rebeka and can often be heard yelling "BECK!" at the woman. Rebeka has been present during many of Mike Block's attempts on Claire, and Rebeka's less take-charge approach in dealing with violent criminals has earned her more teasing from Claire. Rebeka, meanwhile, seems to think Claire is a bit crazy for how laid-back she is around the more violent people in the city.

Blaine County Sheriff's Office[]

Rocko Colombo

Claire originally met Undersheriff Colombo early in her first week in the city. Upon learning she was Angel's sister as well as a former LEO, Colombo made it clear he wanted her to join BCSO when she became a LEO again. In later encounters he reiterated this, declaring "it's already decided you're joining BCSO."

Upon learning of Claire's budding relationship with Deputy Mina Price, Colombo again put the pressure on. When Claire informed Colombo that Angel may stab her if she doesn't join the LSPD, Colombo stated he'd run her over. After a brief argument with another officer, Colombo did just that. [9]

Dante Wolf

Wolf and Claire met one day in MRPD while Claire was following up on a possible job in dispatch or DOC. Hearing she was Angel's sister and an experienced former LEO as well as FTO, Dante was very intrigued and also encouraged her to join BCSO.

After Claire began dating Mina Price, Dante, who is Mina's adoptive father, ramped up the pressure to get Claire to join BCSO when she joins PD. He also reiterated that it was vital Mina and Claire have no kids, because thanks to the Baas family contract the kids would be required to join the LSPD.

Henri King

King and Claire's relationship has developed primarily due to Claire dating King's sister, Mina Price. King was adamant that nothing intimate occur between Mina and Claire until the two were wedded, and Claire did her best to assuage King's fears by seemingly agreeing.

When it was later revealed that Claire and Mina had in fact become intimate, King decided to enact some brotherly hazing by handcuffing Claire and taking her away from MRPD during her shift on dispatch. King took Claire to an alley near MRPD and playfully "roughed her up" before putting a gun to her head. Claire, no stranger to this kind of hazing, teased back by telling King the last time she was in handcuffs, it was his sister Mina who had put her in them. Wink wink.

Since the encounter Henri and Claire have developed a playful rivalry, with Claire getting her revenge by handcuffing King and taking him to the same alley herself, "roughing" King up and demanding he treat his fiancée (and Claire's new friend) Anita Cox right or he'd have to deal with Claire.

Kevin Keyte

Claire and Kevin have a amiable relationship full of faux hostility and dorky put-downs. If Henri is Mina's stern and scary brother, Kevin is Mina's goofy brother. Claire is no stranger to goofball behavior, and the two riff off each other well. As well as being Mina's brother, Kevin is also a former dispatcher & dispatch FTO. When the two aren't being dorks, Kevin takes on a mentor-like role with the new dispatcher, encouraging her and complimenting her progress.

Los Santos Police Department[]

Sam Baas

Although she's only met Baas twice, he took an immediate liking to Claire and even offered to adopt her during their first meeting in the captain's office at MRPD. Baas produced a contract for Claire to sign, urging her to look it over and give it thought, before briefly tearing up at the prospect of another adoption. Claire read the contract thoroughly, noticing the fine print requiring her to be a "meat shield" and "loot box" in all gunfights. Concerned by this and Angel's possible reaction, Claire politely declined and did not sign the contract.

Claire met Baas again several times, with Baas once saying he looked forward to Claire becoming a cop in the city some day. Later, Claire watched Baas be temporarily kidnapped from in front of MRPD, calling 911 in a panic. [10]

As a dispatcher Claire and Baas have worked together frequently, Baas being the Sergeant that Claire interacts with the most outside of her less-than-loving sister.

Department of Justice[]

Buck Stanton

Claire met the Chief Justice outside MRPD towards the end of her first week in the city. At first Stanton was dismissive of Claire and didn't trust her, seeing only another untrustworthy cop. Her being Angel's sister made it all the worse. However, after a long conversation about Claire's philosophy on police work and her response to a nearby officer's excessive use of force, Stanton found himself reconsidering his opinion of Claire. Seeing a career cop who was new to the city and had yet to be exposed to some of PD's anti-DOJ sentiment, Stanton decided she would be perfect for a new job.

Stanton brought Claire on as the DOJ's in-house PI, relying on her to investigate anything that came across his desk that could prove important. The two have developed a fairly close working relationship, with Claire checking in only with him when she's out investigating.

Department of Corrections[]

Edward Nygma

Edward Nygma met Claire through the Knight Hunters Detective Agency, of which he was also a part in addition to being a member of the DoC. Nygma offered Claire a spare bed in his house in Mirror Park for her to crash on since she was new to the city and eager to get out of her crummy motel apartment.

Nygma served as Claire's first stop for most cases and questions that ended up in her lap. Nygma, being very familiar with the city, gave Claire all the lowdown on Lot Q, Mike Block, and anything else that Claire needed help with. Claire came to rely on Nygma as her #1 source in the city.
