Charlie’s backstory:[]

After growing up surrounded by old school gangsters Charlie aspired to be just like his father and godfather. A true gangster… a very wealthy and highly respected man. Charlie’s aspirations were always held back by his family and friends as they wanted to keep him squeaky clean to protect him, almost as if they had other plans for him. As the years went by, Charlie's friends and family left him behind. He lost them all to death, prison, retirement, or most recently due to dementia. Things had changed, no one was holding him back anymore, but gangsters weren’t the same as they once were. There used to be rules to follow and respect meant everything. These days Charlie doesn’t fully understand what it means to be a gangster. Charlie needs to learn everything from the ground up as he starts a new chapter in his life. To accomplish his dreams, he will start from the bottom and work his way to the top. The knowledge of being an old-school gangster was a great start, but Charlie needs to learn how to be a modern-day gangster to reach his goals.

The Outlaws:
Charlie had multiple invites to join different groups but turned them down until his friend Hunter invited him as an ambassador for a new biker gang. The ideas, morals and plans seemed to fit well for Charlie and his friend Ty so they decided to join. Hunter stopped coming to the city after not securing a club house. Ell LeFant stepped up to lead the club with Tom Ryan as vice president. The four remaining members (Ell, Tom, Ty and Charlie) began to make moves as a gang with hosting races and weapons trafficking. Charlie was abiding by the rules to introduce his friend Jackie into the club. The process was as follows; friend, hangout, prospect, member. Ell called a members meeting and announced she wanted to change the club name to Aztecas (their former gang) and wanted to reintroduce 2 past Aztecas members to the group. The changes had bypassed the group rules and procedures. Ell claimed the 2 new people introduced were not members which made no sense to Charlie as they were already at the members meeting. Charlie felt his club had failed to keep within its own rules which lost his trust in the clubs future handling. Charlie decided to remove himself from the gang. Ell & Tom did not blame Charlie for wanting to leave and they parted as friends/distant family. Charlie still loves and misses Ell, Tom, Hunter & Ty.
The Hidden:
Charlie became friends with Cooper Hart & Wilson Hart (Willy) after regularly meeting them fishing, hunting and generally around the city. They always seemed to have fun, laughs and jokes and often get into some crazy things. As their friendship grew and they hung out more, Charlie learned that the Hart brothers were regularly accompanied by Stacey Doyle (an acquaintance of Charlie that he found a fun person to be around). Charlie often asked Cooper if he was ever setting up an official group but would never get a solid answer which almost resulted in Charlie moving on to making his own group called "The Unaffiliated". As more friends began to hang out together and wear camo regularly, Cooper expressed to Charlie that he was family and that he would be making an official group. Meanwhile "The Unaffiliated" group Charlie had tried to put together hadn't taken off yet and the few friends he spoke with regarding "The Unaffiliated" group had moved on to do their own things. Soon before Charlie decided to give up on the idea and to be fully involved with what Charlie called "The Camo Crew" as they didn't have an official name yet, Alice Glass who would become Coopers girlfriend that the 4 of them later became The Hidden.

Charlie would be around his new family any time he got a chance as more members were added, even getting a house in Harmony, where their origins began making it the Clubhouse for the family, things became conflict with The Hidden when a new Prospect, Bree McNab. Who was an ex-member of the Smileys. Joined the family but things quickly became sour when it turned out that Bree was talking to another gang The Wastelanders, which old friends Ell and Tom were apart of. About the things that The Hidden were doing, so when she left the family, handing her mask in. It turned out right outside of Charlies house, Wastelanders were outside for protection over Bree and her decision, soon a war broke out between the two gangs, around this time an old friend of Charlies came back to town, this would be Dom Dasilva, a member of The Commonwealth. The two caught up after being a part for so long, that when it came to Bree, Dom had unfinished business with her from being a part of the Smileys. The two took Bree out to the Alamo Sea, they all talked about the situation and in the end, Dom and Charlie ocean dumped Bree. This act had Charlie put his foot in the door for Dom to join him in his new family, The Hidden. After a few days after this war, the family brought Dom into the torture chamber and gave him his mask. Cooper had a goal for them to grow the family in the EU time, however some personal things came in the way and Charlie started to show up less and less.

Charlies Disapearance:
Eventually thing went south after months of not hearing anything from Charlie, when Dom got a text from Charlie about his situation, Dom quickly informed the family and looking at his house, it turned out to be ransacked, with blood trailing from the main foyer to the bedroom into the bathroom, with alcohol placed on the wooden table that had The Hidden scratched into it. It turned out that Charlie went back to the UK to find himself, and really only came back to LS to pay asset fees, while at the airport. Charlie met a lady named Angela, which Charlie would just call her Angel. Charlie thought it was love at first sight, however she was flying back to Italy to meet an ex, she didn't want to get back with but to talk to him. The two stayed in touch but eventually Charlie flew to Italy and stayed with her instead of going to LS. She confessed that she was back with his ex but was forced into it. It turned out that his name is Stefano Greco, one of the Dons of the Mafia. Angel and Charlie confessed their love to each other but they couldn't, Charlie wanted her to move to LS with him. Charlie decided to meet this Stefano guy at a Casino and sat at the same table as him, Charlie won and mentioned that he doesn't want his money, but he wanted his girl. Seeing how Stefano also hit Angela while they were there, Charlie had guns pointed at him when he tried to stand up for her. Stefano and his guys would also drag Charlie outside and beat him nearly to death. While outside a rival gang to Stefano's group, Frank Genovese Frank had a task for Charlie as he helped him, he would have Charlie as bait that Frank wanted Stefano and that if he knew Charlie was alive that he would hunt for him. So Frank's group would claim that they had Charlie so they can meet up and in the end it would be Angel and Charlie together if the planned worked. However, while in holding in the holding cells, Franks group caught one of Greco's men, but over hearing Frank with one of his men about double crossing Frank, Frank shot his men which Charlie overheard. Eventually Stefano came and Frank's group put Charlie in a room that had the two groups split from one side of the room to the other, Stefano also pushed Angel into the circle where Charlie was, Frank and Stefano shook hands and noticing Stefano pacing back and forth with a gun in his hand, the plan wasn't happening it looked like. So when Stefano looked Charlie dead in his eyes behind Angel and shot her in the back.

Charlie held her in his arms as she was dying, she told Charlie she loved him and gave him his necklace which was a silver heart, on the back there was a code, she told him that in her room there was a safe. This would be her last breath as gun fire was around them as the two gangs started to shoot. Charlie was able to make it back to her room, inside the safe there were two items. One was a USB, and the other was Angels passport and two tickets to LS. Charlie was ripped apart at this time but when gun fire was outside the door, however when one of Genovese guys came into the room and wondering why he was in the room and why at the safe. He would shortly be shot in the back while in the doorway. Charlie ran out the window and ran as bullets were near him as he was running. Charlie eventually got a car and drove as more gunshots fired through the back of the car. When Charlie got time to rest and reflect and started to beat himself over it. Charlie's phone rang, it was Frank saying that Stefano and his men were dead and that Charlie was next for double crossing him, Frank wanted the USB and said if Charlie came back he would take pity on him, the same words he heard from when he was in the cells. Charlie hid in Italy for months until he could get a flight back to LS. About a week back into LS, Vinnie Vosa who was Frank's right hand man, ordered his men to stay and watch Charlie's house, they would dress up as the local people in Harmony to keep watch.

Charlie got into his house and passed out from all the trauma, however. Charlie would lose the USB that Frank wanted, Charlie had to patch himself up even breaking into the veterinary next door. Charlie would be on the run ever since. On the USB from Stefano had dirt on every gang in the world from all countries, from their witness protection, corrupt cops, the members that they are a part of, access to the Black Market for supplies, hiring hitmen, drugs and anything in the criminal world. This is when Charlie would get in touch with Grace Daniels an old friend of Charlie in LS where they would talk about this under a bridge in the south side. Around the same time Charlie sent the text to Dom about this situation where The Hidden family would help Charlie finding the USB for him in his house, without this USB Charlie will be killed.

The Return of Payne:
Eventually The Hidden found the USB in Charlie's house, sending a picture to confirm, Grace also met with Willy and Garret giving them a piece of paper that was from Angel's passport and the way to unlock the USB, Charlie's phone would be eventually used by Vinnie demanding a meeting with Willy, the two would meet in Charlie's house and talked about Charlie and trying to convince Willy/The Hidden to give him the USB. Willy refused which Vinnie knew they would, with this he gave him the second part of the code to unlock the USB so they can give the USB to him for Charlie's safety. The Hidden decoded the clue and found a way to get on it, however, it needed an admin password to access the USB, Vinnie also warned that his boss, Frank. Was coming to Los Santos, upon his arrival The Hidden had a meeting with The Hidden giving them video proof of Charlie and he was alive, for now. Vinnie and Frank talked to The Hidden about Charlie and the USB which they explained why they were here thinking The Hidden sent Charlie to infiltrate their gang. They gave them one last task which The Hidden had to find another clue in the city tunnels, their task was to decode a set of riddles, eventually The Hidden got help from the admin to the USB an unknown person only known as Shadow Glitch(5H4D0WGL17CH). With him giving them the admin password they overloaded the data on the USB which revealed all the data of gangs leading them to find out that Vinnie was an informant of rival gangs that was going to kill Frank, Vinnie's men would kill Charlie and blame it on The Hidden.

Rushing back to their meeting spot Willy witnessed Vinnie holding a gun to Franks head when he had his back turned, The Hidden got their in time and explained to Frank that his right-hand man, Vinnie, was a rat. Frank couldn't believe it but killed Vinnie as punishment, he explained to The Hidden that if they took him to the airport that he would give them the location of Charlie. Doing so, Frank gave them 3 locations as he was leaving Los Santos. The Casino, Mount Chiliad, and Paleto. The Hidden split up covering all locations, Dom and Brian Cage found Charlie under the pier in Paleto. Dom quickly got him to his car as he called the rest of The Hidden, Dom started CPR as Charlie's breath was slowly stopping. The Hidden all rolled up as they got Charlie into Dom's car and raced to the hospital, the members who got their first made sure that the doctors knew Charlie was coming in and prepped for surgery. Dom eventually arrived and got him into the hospital bed, the doctor took Charlie to surgery as The Hidden waited in the lobby. After what felt like forever, the doctor came out saying Charlie is in a coma and made it through surgery.

Charlie's official return was 5/21/23 when he got out of the hospital and returned back home with Dom and Brian picking him up from the hospital with balloons, Charlie was greeted back from his friends and family with open arms, even with Hidden Treasure Pawn Shop now opening that same day. Most of his day back he rolled around in a wheelchair with the help of Vali Umbra or other family members in The Hidden, soon Charlie got a makeover returning back to his red jacket look.

Clover Maze:[]

Clover Maze is Charlie's Ex-girlfriend and was his first true love in the city. He treated her like a queen until one day she randomly vanished leaving just a small note in the house which he had purchased for her so they had a house to live in. This broke his fragile heart and he has still yet to fully mend his broken heart having only just managed to start moving on and going on dates again.

Gambling Addiction:[]

Charlie has been known to have a really bad gambling addiction, and once he gets started at the casino it is really hard for him to stop blowing away his money.

Wheel Spins:[]

Charlie has been known to go big on wheel spins often seen doing the big $20k spins and loosing all his money thinking he will win big. Charlie over time has probably lost over $500k on wheel spins yet continues to think his luck will change.

Roulette:[]

With the introduction of Roulette at the Casino Charlie got back to his old gambling ways, even though he knew it was a bad idea. He is often seen withdrawing large amounts of money and spending it all on the roulette tables for little returns. Although he did get lucky once and came out with a $330k profit he has since blown it all.

No Fans:
Charlie is a Seller for NoFans and is quite good at selling the NoFans Books and Cards although lately the business has kind of been sitting idle due to Stacey not being in the city for a while and therefor Charlie hasnt been able to get the products to sell.

Abdul's Taxi Service:
Charlie is a taxi driver for Abdul's Taxi Service and can often be seen driving his taxi around the city giving people rides. Although due to the high gas prices at the moment Taxi Driving is not really profitable and hence Charlie hasn't been driving his taxi as much.

The Hidden Treasure Pawn Shop:
With The Hidden opening up there pawn shop up north in Harmony, Charlie was hired as a pawn broker.


Former Jobs:
Maldini's Pizzeria:

Charlie got hired as an Intern at Maldini's Pizzeria, and worked his way up to waiter. Sadly Charlie decided to quit because it was to hard for him to keep seeing DJ and Love together which made him leave maldinis as they also worked there.
