General Description
Bill Maze is a Bar-Certified Lawyer within the Department of Justice. Maze was disbarred in 2.0 but was reinstated in April of 2022. While disbarred Maze made a donation to the Unified Police Department benevolent fund, during this meeting he asked Toretti for a job and was assigned as Janitor at Mission Row Police Department, After working for several months, he finally became an Administrative Assistant for the Los Santos Police Dispatch.
Bill Maze ran for Mayor of Los Santos in the December 2021 Election, following former-mayor Abdul AlRahim's sudden Impeachement halfway through his Second Term. He received a total of 22 Votes (2.3%), losing to Emma Gaine with 291 Votes (30.41%).
While working as an Admin Assistant at MRPD, Maze secured trust with in the PD by becoming the only civilian to have the job of sorting through police equipment and moving it to evidence lockers for recycling. This was an honor for Maze as he had been given the job by Sam Baas. One night while working Maze was attacked by a dispatcher FTO and some trainees. The FTO confirmed to Maze he did not have a future in dispatch. Maze ended up in ICU for a period of two weeks.
Maze never fully regained his work ethic at MRPD as he was scared to death of being attacked again by the FTO, so he went on the lamb living in the woods. During this time he would get food by breaking into Beaver Bush and stealing lunches left in the fridge by Park Rangers.
In April of 2022 Maze was approached by old friend and current Judge Reggie Might, about becoming a lawyer again. Maze was hesitant at first but through persistence and badgering, Might finally convinced him.
About 3 days later, Maze got a call from Might telling him to come to City Hall, as he had to give Maze his Bar Card back. Maze went and was given restrictions for the time being which included things such as, not being able to post to the docket, only being able to do cell reps and bench trials with out a full attorney present.
Maze's previous jobs in PD as a civilian have served him well, with almost instant respect by Officers being given to him, with Maze giving the respect back. Crocodile Steve showed this new trust and respect with Maze by handing over his personal notebook and evidence seeking guidance on how to approach a case on the docket.
Maze has continued to attempt to turn a new leaf with in the Justice system by representing Officers who ask for help. Though Maze won't charge him they have kept him in the green. Maze was hired by John Riggs to sue the Tuner Shop and Eddie Marshall in a class action suit, but this fell through when Officers asked Maze not to post it on the docket. Maze has also taken to represent Matt Rhodes, in a civil case launched against him by John Copperton. Copperton made allegations claiming that Rhodes suspended and arrested him with out cause and was seeking $200,000 in damages.
Maze has tried to limit his representation with criminals but due to his restrictions on his practice has found it hard to do. He ended up becoming the accidental attorney for the Gulag Gang after representing Selena Martinez on drug trafficking charges. At the time Martinez followed Maze's directions and was able to walk out of MRPD with charges pending due to the raid on her property. Maze has been able to convince Martinez to stay quiet and as crime free as possible, and to date the Officer has not put her charges on the docket.
With the April/May Judge election Maze has thrown his hat in the ring. Though he doesn't think he will win he wanted to ensure that the current people on the ballot would not win by default, and instead have to earn their place.
