In May of 2022, April Fooze took a trip to Utah to visit King Ryan's studio to record new music. While there the duo recorded 3 songs; "What If (Piano Version)", "Better When I'm High", & "Do This On My Own". The first was to be released from the studio session was "What If (Piano Version)", which was a remix of their hit "What If". After the release of "What If (Piano Version)", the duo began a rollout of the other two songs recorded. The song was a departure of both the artist Pop & Hip-Hop heavy discography and was King Ryan's first Electronic/EDM song and Aprils first since 2021.
