Beach Crew were a criminal group working adjacent to the Bondi Boys Motor Club (BBMC). They operated out of the Crown Jewels Motel block in Vespucci.
Origin[]
Former BBMC Prime Minister Irwin Dundee first floated the idea of a street team named the Roo Crew in December 2021. Former Treasurer Pez Speedwagon spearheaded the creation of the group in February 2022 with then-Road Captain Junior Meats, who was asked to oversee the group's day-to-day operations on behalf of the club. The group's temporary name, made up tongue-in-cheek by Pez, was Beach Team, a parody of Street Team. Junior wanted them to be taken seriously and brainstormed the more catchy permanent name of Beach Crew.
Beach Crew was originally established on April 23rd, 2022, under the direction of Junior, when property was purchased by the club at the north end of Vespucci, near Burger Shot. After a rocky start that saw some original members depart, the group went into hiatus while the city recovered from a crime blackout. On May 19th, 2022, Junior restarted Beach Crew, recruiting and training new Los Santos citizens and solo criminals looking for a home.
Territory[]
The group resided in the Crown Jewels Motel, a block located at the north end of the BBMC turf at the intersection of Bay City and San Andreas Avenues, near Burger Shot.
The first Beach Crew apartment was purchased by Beach Crew member Broxh Kava on April 23rd, 2022 with BBMC seed funding. Later members Rue Minmi, Larry Jonsen, Blake Henley, James Rodriguez, Pete Richards, and BBMC Prospect Buck Colton all purchased apartments in the block. BBMC High Command said they preferred having Beach Crew holding down the block to keep undesirables from trying to move in.
History[]
On June 15th, 2022, Rue Minmi was voted in as the leader of Beach Crew by a unanimous vote. Voted in as her second-in-command was Broxh Kava, with Larry Jonsen as her third-in-command. The early days of Beach Crew were filled with promise and a strong group of eager members, but suffered from a high turnover rate.
By October, Beach Crew was struggling. A few early participants had stepped away due to waning interest, and the stronger core group was having trouble retaining members. Broxh stepped down from being second-in-command to member status in order to pursue a career with the BBMC as a Hangaround, and Larry went missing soon after in a feared kidnapping plot. While Junior had attempted to help BC, internal conflict within his own club had limited his ability to spend too much time molding them.
Junior proposed a new direction for Beach Crew, offering to bring them under the BBMC umbrella in a more formal arrangement. He asked Rue join the BBMC as a Hangaround, with the idea that if she made it through the process she would retain her status as Beach Crew Leader and be the jacketed BBMC member running Beach Crew. As a club member, her main responsibly would be running Beach Crew, training up newer criminals in the city and, for those with the right skills, suggesting them to the BBMC as potential club members.
Leader Rue was jacketed as a BBMC Prospect on the 19th of February 2023, however Junior was Blooded Out on the 9th of February 2023, following his ex-PM Irwin Dundee, who was voted out of the club. Broxh, who was also Junior's cousin, chose to end his Hangaround journey with the BBMC a few weeks later. Beach Crew members Kelly Dean and Captain Andy would soon parts ways with Beach Crew as well. Kelly followed Rue and joined the BBMC, while Andy joined the Lost MC. Larry was never found.
