Description[]
Baron Mimekonnen is the new Emperor of the Mimes, and a major antagonist of the The Funhouse Clowns.
The Baron is the powerful leader of the mimes, previously being the Mime Emperor's second in command. He acted as the general of the war effort, directing the mimes and coordinating assaults on the clowns in the previous emperor's absence. Baron Mimekonnen sees the world in black and white, believing that the mimes way is the only way. He is calm, cool, and calculated, always poking and prodding the clowns even when he is at their mercy. When he gets really excited, he tends to break out in angelic chants. As a true believer of the mime's way, he wishes for conflict with the clowns to be over so that they can bring about peace in a world of silence.
The Baron is one of the few mimes who was awarded speech by the previous Mime Emperor.
Major Events[]
Before coming to Los Santos, Baron Mimekonnen had already proven himself to be an effective commander. He had fought many battles and was responsible for hundreds of clown families being destroyed. He was well known for employing cruel methods such as torture, blackmail, and psychological warfare to instill as much fear as possible into the clowns. He is also responsible for converting a number of clowns into mimes. The baron had worked closely with the Mime Emperor for many years, serving as his right hand and loyal confidant. He began to take interest in Los Santos after hearing about the clowns there, and after monitoring the city for a time, he was sent there by the mime's high council to assist with the war effort. He helped establish a foothold in the city, and made the The House of Silence the Mimes main base. Under his command, the mimes power grew exponentially, and he coordinated a number of raids, kidnappings, and assaults on The Funhouse and the clowns.
Receiving the Emperor[]
The Baron had received word that the Mime Emperor himself would be visiting Los Santos on April 24th, 2025, and began to make preparations for his arrival. After the clowns discovered this, the baron made sure to hide the location of where the Mime Emperor will be received, as well as sending a large force of mimes to attack the Funhouse. Despite the battle ending in a loss for the mimes, the emperor was successfully retrieved. After the battle, the emperor wished to visit the mimes who were in prison, and decided to take the baron and an escort of mimes with him. As the baron and the emperor arrived at the prison with their escorts, the clowns showed up, also wishing to visit their friends in prison. A shootout occurred, with the baron ordering the mimes to protect the emperor. Despite this, the mimes were outnumbered and outgunned, and were quickly defeated. The clowns then fled the scene, as the baron and the rest of the mimes were taken to the hospital. However, the Mime Emperor who was with the baron and was shot turned out to be a body double, as the real Mime Emperor was waiting for Chatterbox on Mount Chiliad. After recovering, the baron and the rest of the mimes were sent to prison.
The Mime Rally & Encounter on the Bridge[]
On May 8th, Baron Mimekonnen organized a mime Rally in the city where he would spread the word or the mimes. On the day of the event, the crowd that showed up was much smaller than expected, with many attending simply to heckle. Despite this, the baron spoke passionately, speaking of the way of the mimes and even showing a (fake) recording of Tessa Lamb and Chatterbox talking about how they have malicious intentions for the city. He then began gesturing to individuals in the crowd who were inflicted with the Black vein fever, such as Nate Karama, claiming that without the clowns the infection would have never spread. After the end of the rally, Baron Mimekonnen returned to the house of silence to prepare for the next attack on the clowns.
A few weeks later, the baron had the mimes kidnap Lily Night-Sky, and he brought her to the House of Silence. There he told her of the Mime Emperor, and revealed that he is her father. He attempted to convert her to the way of the mimes, but was interrupted by the clowns who broke into the House of Silence to save her. Even though they held him at gunpoint and demanded answers, the baron did not react with fear, but rather gloated at how the clowns were too late. In anger, the clowns kidnapped him and toke him to the top of a bridge. Chatterbox called the Mime Emperor, and told him to come to the bridge. Once there, the mimes and clowns decided to have a final showdown on June 5th. After deciding the date, the mimes and clowns did a death roll game, which the mimes lost, and the baron was set free. After a trip to the hospital, he returned to the House of Silence with the rest of the mimes, and showed the clowns the deceased body of Donny Rashguard. After which, he went inside and began preparing for the final battle.
The Final Battle[]
After rescheduling the final battle for June 19th, the Baron was hard at work preparing for the showdown. On the day of the final battle, the Baron was with his army assigning tasks and organizing groups. After welcoming the emperor, he went to prepare the truck for the emperor as the mimes all moved out. He then acted as the emperors escort along with David Wonders, and stood by his side as the emperor addressed his troops before the battle. Once the mimes began to move out, he had a short conversation with the emperor, expressing his desire for peace and silence, and for the war to end. The emperor replied that what they are going through is merely a storm, and that after a storm, there is always calm. The baron then took the emperor to the Funhouse to speak with Chatterbox, and afterwards, took him to a hill overlooking the Funhouse to watch the battle unfold.
Even while guarding the emperor, Baron Mimekonnen led his troops, shouting orders and praise as they charged into battle. In the middle of the fight, the Mime Emperor was shot by chatterbox, and the baron rushed to his aid, attempting to assist him. Instead, the emperor expressed his desire to crawl to the Funhouse to address the clowns one final time, to which the baron agreed and wished him well. Shortly after, the baron left the battlefield and eventually made his way to the ocean and got a speed boat. He monologued about how he would follow the emperors wishes and leave him and Los Santos behind, for now. As he sped away, he said that the clowns are destined to fall, and that he would one day return to find the clowns, if they lived. He also claimed that it was a shame no one would remember the emperors name.
In the aftermath of the battle, Baron declared himself to be the new Emperor of the Mimes. He called off further attacks and declared peace for the conflict. His further fate is unknown.
Trivia[]
- The Baron discovered Placidus Punxsutawney and Silencio de Veritas's treachery against the Mime Emperor, and so he shot Silencio and beheaded him, along with severely wounding Placidus.
- The day after the final battle and the barons escape, Dumbles Fumbles told Osvaldo Pingafria that he killed a "fat gray man" with a "bloody handprint on his shirt". While the person he is describing is most definitely the baron, it is unlikely he killed him.
