Grove Street Ballas

Grove Street Ballas are one of the strongest South Side street gangs and primarily operate out of Davis. The gang mainly deals in drugs, weapons trafficking and other criminal activities. They are currently led by Tyrell Fresh and Demetrius Jones (Draco).

The Grove Street Ballas have grown in size and influence since its creation in February 2021 and are now represented by three sets known as the Front Yard Ballas (FYB), Kilo Tray Ballas (KTB) and Original Covenant Ballas (OCB).

Prospects are brought in by high ranking members within these sets. Once a prospect has proven themselves, they are beaten and blooded in to Grove Street Ballas with the letter B carved into their chest. Blooded members can be recognized by the purple bandana that they wear.

The South Side: Meth

7-Raven The Ballas make the bulk of their money through slinging Methamphetamine to locals in the South Side. In the beginning this was on the corner of Grove Street. A connection built through Nino Chavez, helped Mando Thompson secure a meth deal of 100% purity product known as 7-Raven. Down the line, the product changed to 13-Pelican. With Nino Chavez stepping away from the meth game, lines of communication became difficult. The identity of the supplier remained anonymous and were only reachable publicly via the passphrase "Green Trees".

The 9s Mid June 2021, Mando Thompson, Zoog Volkov Martinez (Kitty) and David Rusky (TG) are observed by Randy Wrangler to be slinging meth on the corner of Grove St. Kitty is observed making hand offs to locals arriving to the corner in their cars and Mando on his BMX is seen cycling back and forth from his corner to the driveway of his home. They were subsequently arrested and detained. Officer testimony, photographic evidence and the evidence of two bags of Meth found on Mando's person proved enough for Wrangler's raid warrant of Mando's property to be approved by a judge. Discovered in the house were 320 bags of Meth, 29 packed bud, 14 female seeds, 5 marijuana seeds, high quality scales, empty baggies and briefcases filled with money that added up to $160,000.

In interrogation, Mando, Kitty and TG refused to cooperate with Wrangler in providing any information about the Meth supplier. They were sentenced to the 9s (held until trial). The court date was scheduled a week later. At trial the defendants were found guilty of drug trafficking and sale of drugs, fined $60,000, sentenced to 3 Years in prison (3 Days), 7 Years parole (7 days) and seizure of illegal possessions found in Mando's property. The committing of any illegal activity by Mando during parole would also mean seizure of his home.

13-Pelican Supplier Revealed In the weeks that followed, Mando Thompson attempted to reconnect with the Meth supplier. Having not betrayed them, he expressed his frustrations at not being able to contact them directly and issued an ultimatum where there could no longer be anonymity else the deal would have to be ended. A face to face meeting is arranged and the supplier is revealed to be Lang Buddha along with Harry Brown. A new price of $350 per bag is agreed on, with Lang offering to provide the first couple drops on tick.

Self-Sufficiency Weeks later, the meth game has changed and Lang is ignoring Mando's calls, forcing the Ballas to look to other dealers. The local pedestrians in the South Side are found to be more open to buying meth sold in the various regions of the South Side than just the three corners that were being controlled by The Families, Vagos and the Ballas. Tyrell Fresh strikes a deal with Condemned MC, allowing them to sell their product on Maze Bank Arena, a region controlled by the Ballas. The Ballas would assist their cook, Fritz Ericson, buy their product at a much reduced price and be able to obtain information on how to cook themselves. This move has allowed the Ballas to be self-sufficient in the production and sale of Meth and move on from 13-Pelican. Ballas achieved their first 100% purity product called Sheep under Yair Lamas.

Ballas have discovered 13-Pelican on Vagos bodies during war and believe Lang moved on to dealing to them instead.

Months of back and forth in the South Side by both gangs escalates into all out war between Ballas and Vagos.

On January 6th 2022 after two weeks of dominance displayed by the Ballas, South Side history is made as the Vagos leader (el Jefe) Arush Patel "Speedy" Santana agrees to pay $100,000.00.

The $100,000.00 payment puts an end to a violent and bloody war that has seen many shootouts, body mutilations and even permanent death.

The end of this war crowns Ballas as the undisputed strongest gang in the Southside of Los Santos for now.....

Caught Lacking: Grove Street Raids

Demetrius Jones and Mona Sanchez are stopped in a traffic stop by Officers Louis Bloom and Ensley Alton which leads to a short car chase and then a shoot-out between the Police and The Ballas near Cerberus Arena.

The aftermath of the shoot-out results in Demetrius Jones, Mona Sanchez and Lucas "Wolfy" Frank under 24 hour prison hold pending raid warrants.

After a raid on his Grove Street home Lucas "Wolfy" Frank is charged with 3 years in prison and a $128,000.00+ fine.

Demetrius Jones and Mona Sanchez have their vehicles and house on Grove Street raided. This results in the seizure of 2x $150,000.00 meth tables, multiple bags of meth and weapons. Their charges are currently pending on a court case after lawyer Reggie Might demanded their release.

Grove Street Ballas: Restructured
From the 4th of April 2022, the Ballas are now known as The Grove Street Ballas (GSB). With the growing numbers, the group formally acknowledged the subsets growing within: Front Yard Ballas (FYB), Kilo Tray Ballas (KTB) and Original Covenant Ballas (OCB).
Ballas vs R.U.S.T: War
In a previous discussion between Ray and Tyrell, Ray agrees to not place sprays crossing Autopia Parkway. The Ballas come to discover RUST sprays past Autopia Parkway and by the docks, the Ballas use to blood out past members.

On June 20th 2022, after RUST is given 2 days to decide on a compromise, Ballas and RUST meet at the observatory. Tyrell, Draco, Ray and The Chemist meet face to face with other members opting to stay back in anticipation of the meeting going sideways.

After a bit of back and forth between the two leaders, they decide a resolution without bloodshed is impossible as neither side are willing to take a financial loss for what they consider a misunderstanding. War is declared and terms are set. The war is to last no longer than 7 days. Both sides agree to end the war in the event one claims the spray they wish to contest. Ray indicates his interest for a Ballas spray on the canal walls opposite to the RUST compound that borders GSF's Chamberlain turf. Both sides leave the observatory with no shots fired.

Two days of fighting and several Ballas victories later, the Ballas initiate a contestion of the Docks spray. RUST hot drop with 3 on to the Maze Bank Arena roof that had 2 Ballas set up and eliminate them swiftly but Ray gets downed in the process. On the ground, amidst the chaos of gunfire, Kaiba manages to cancel contestion of the spray. As the cops move in, the remaining Ballas wipe out the remaining RUST members in the area before going down to the swarming cops.

The next day, RUST contest a maze bank arena spray and successfully claim it. Cops respond heavily in the midst of the gunfight. The Ballas wipe out the RUST members before escaping the cops with their 6 members.

The next day, Draco calls Ray and says the Ballas will attempt a contestion once more now that both sides are more aware of the workings behind the contestion system. Yet again, whilst in the heat of the battle, a RUST member manages to cancel contestion of the spray (3 seconds) and is downed just as he completes the action. All RUST members in the area are wiped and the Ballas gather the bodies and loot them.

Later in the day, Ray and the Chemist head to Dollar Pills to have a meeting with Draco and Mona. The two sides agree that the contestion system is not at the best stage to fight wars with. Ray acknowledges the Ballas fighting ability and concedes the docks spray they originally wanted. Both sides part amicably, with new found respect for each other whilst aware a war between them can always be rehashed in the future.

Note: This was the first spray war with mechanics to contest sprays.
